I have been wanting to check this coffee joint out since it has opened. But I never make my way into this direction but today I decided that I wanted a coffee from this shop. I read online that their banana bread lattes are the business so that was enough to push me to the other end of State St. I remember when this location was a soda joint. They have remodeled it into quite a stunning venue. The plush green velvet seating is very luxurious. The color of the seating is so pretty, rich emerald green! I have always enjoyed the big windows that wrap around a majority of the venue giving it so much natural lighting. I adore the fireplace in the middle of the floor creating some division between the seating and the register. And you can never go wrong with a fireplace for that added coziness to your shop. I walked up to order and the gal working behind the counter was great. I asked her about the banana bread latte and was told it wasn't available. Bummer since I was looking forward to it. But she suggested the fig or figgy vanilla pudding latte. Reading the description of it, it sounded lovely so I went for it. I grabbed a 16oz iced breve of this special and I was looking forward to my drink! I checked out the pretty decor on the fireplace while they were working on my drink. It was nice to see people out this late in the afternoon enjoying their company and drinks. My name was called and made my way up to grab it. I noticed that the lids were in a communal basket. I was planning to ask the gentleman working the espresso machine if I could possibly get one that hasn't been exposed to everyone. With my new kidney, I just have to be extra careful with communal things like lids, straws and silverware that have been exposed to multiple people. Honestly, he seemed bothered when I simply starting talking to him. It discouraged me from asking so I grabbed a lid from the secondary stack towards the bottom. He stared at me like I was strange but if he was kind, I wouldn't have had to dig for a lid. He would have known why I needed a different lid for my drink. I sat by the fireplace for a bit to enjoy the vibe and coffee. After my first sip, I was really hoping that the fig or vanilla bean would be present in my breve. Unfortunately, it wasn't. I did take a couple more drinks and mixed it up a bit to see if the flavoring would be more noticeable. Sadly, my drink tasted like a normal breve. It was creamy and the espresso was noticeable but was about it. For almost 9 dollars for this drink, it was a big let down. In a normal situation I would have paid for more flavoring but the interaction with the gentleman made me just want to settle with what I got. Nothing worse than being stuck with something that you're unhappy with. I was really hoping for a great experience along with a great drink. My experience was partially there. My interaction with the gal who took my order and the beauty of the venue was fantastic. But my drink and the other barista working was very disappointing. I had such high expectations of this place. I have been to quite a few coffee shops in the valley and I'm usually never disappointed with them. I just want a good drink, nice vibe and great customer service. Pretty basic expectations of any business really. I'm happy I got to finally check out Salt and Light but I'll just stick to my coffee shops on the other end of State St.

Had to try this place because local coffee shops, combined with faith and the cutest setting are always worth it. The inside is so cozy! Theres a giant fireplace, decent amount of seating (outdoor seating as well), they sell merchandise and it's just so inviting. The two baristas were friendly and patient while we decided what we wanted to try. The service was great- and everything came out fast. We ordered the carrot cake iced latte and an iced mocha, as well as a slice of banana bread (the banana bread was sooooo good). The coffee is strong, so be warned- for me personally, I would add an extra pump of mocha or syrup of some sort next time, but it's delicious. Price point is great too. We really enjoyed our visit and can't wait to go back. I could see setting up here to do Bible studies and just hang out. Such a sweet place- and also, they do charcuterie wine and cider/beer in the evenings, which is super cool and I can't wait to check that out too.

Such a lovely place with great coffee! The staff was all so kind. Love the Christ centered environment!

Salt and Light Coffee Lounge is warm and inviting with cozy, velvety booths. It's the perfect refuge especially on a gray, rainy day. The staff here are fantastic--friendly, energetic, and genuine. They greet you with big smiles, keep the line moving, and somehow make the whole place feel like a community hub without ever rushing you. The drinks and pastries are top-notch. My chai on this cool, rainy day truly hit the spot: perfectly spiced, velvety, and balanced--not too sweet. I chose the pumpkin chip pastry as it was hard to resist, and it was truly satisfying alongside my hot yummy drink.

Cinnamon roll, whole bean coffee, salted maple latte (whole milk, light sweet, extra ice)

I bought a cinnamon roll (take home), a salted maple decaf latte (w whole milk), 1 bag whole bean decaf (Kettlebell Coffee Roasters) and some merch (trucker hat)! Service was , friendly staff and helpful service (Kam & Kenn N). Shop is straightforward and ample space and side & out. Window shades on the west side would be helpful in the afternoons.

Awesome, atmosphere!!! Loved my coffee. Loved sitting by the fireplace. Service was helpful when I couldn't decide what I wanted to order.

The CUTEST coffee shop! Came by the other morning and tried the banana latte 10/10. Such a cute spot, delicious coffee, great pastries, and really nice baristas. New fave in town!

The last time I went I tried the gingerbread latte - this was hands down THE BEST gingerbread latte I've ever had! I'm so bummed it's seasonal and that they aren't closer to me so I can enjoy it more before it's gone. I did enjoy their breakfast burrito, it is a smidge expensive, but it's solid. My partner is a black coffee drinker and he likes their Fruit Snacks brew for drip, says it's one of the best black coffees he's found in a while. The ambiance is very relaxed, the swing chairs are such a unique idea (at least in my experience) and they give the shop a fun vibe. I kind of wish they were in just a little bit bigger location, the last time I went it was fairly full inside and it would be great if they had a few more spots for comfy reading chairs - I would love to grab some snacks, a couple of drinks, and spend an hour or two reading there. It's definitely a warm environment and any time I'm in the area, I plan to head back.

I remember they have baked goodies that my husband would be interested in. He's doesn't like all the frilly stuff, just the good ol classics and Eagle Coffee has plenty of that! We came in around 12:30. It was pretty chill. A few guests outside enjoying the September weather and a couple guests inside. We checked out the food cases and found what we wanted. In my last review I had the keto quiche. It was a little overwhelming for me. The Mediterranean quiche was suggested so of course I had to try it. And it looked good in the food case. We were instantly greeted by a bunch a happy faces. I ordered the ham and cheese croissant for my husband. My Mediterranean quiche was ordered. I snagged a small iced cinnamon honey dirty chai with almond milk and a huckleberry lemonade for the husband. I believe everything we got is going to be so good! The ham and cheese croissant looked mighty tasty! It was nicely heated. You can tell it was nice and hot cause the ham and cheese was starting to slide out of the croissant. Husband smashed the whole thing and I wasn't even offered a bite. My quiche had beautiful pieces of zucchini and cheese on top. I really enjoyed the sun dried tomatoes in it. The filling was fluffy and soft. It was a great suggestion from the manager! I might have them heat it up just a hair longer next time, it could have been warmer. The huckleberry lemonade was killer!! It was tart, sweet and bubbly. I was only allowed one sip and I made sure it was big! My first round of chai did not look like normal and it didn't taste good. It was so dark and bitter. I did ask the barista if there was chai in my drink cause it didn't taste like chai. After we got it figured out, a new drink was made. My first one was not what I had ordered, I don't know what it was. My second round was almost perfect. The honey cinnamon chai was so good! It was sweet and spicy. I love the added cinnamon in there. It tastes like it should be cold and holiday season outside. I did pay for a shot of espresso to make it dirty which I never got. It was almost a cup of perfection. I really enjoyed our little coffee date here today. The food was good. Our drinks were tasty. The staff was nice. And it's conveniently down the road from us. I'm happy we stopped in today for our Sunday goodies. I look forward to another round of food and drinks from this joint.

I drove past it on my way to Middleton so it was neccessary to stop in while heading back home to Boise. I needed a pick me up! Passing this joint, there's Black Rock, Starbucks and Dutch Bros. Three franchises that are very predictable and consistent. I'm always down to support local so I made my way in! Supporting local joints is so important. Walking in, the shop is really cute. It's two levels which is fun. You instantly hit the counter as you walk in. Merch on the walls. Baked goods in front of you. I wasn't greeted or acknowledged right away. So, I checked out the drink list on the front of the counter while I waited. The gals behind the counter weren't friendly but they weren't rude, they were just there. I asked for thier sugar free options and was handed a list. To my surprise, they had quite a few SF options which was great! You can only do much SF vanilla, caramel and hazelnut. With so many options available, I was excited to order my drink. I got a med iced americano with sugar free peanut butter and white chocolate. I thought I could mimic a snickers. To be able to have SF peanut butter as an option was dope! I did ask for cream in my iced americano. My drink was ready pretty quickly. I scoped out the area upstairs. It's quite cozy and relaxing up there. There's also an outer deck which will be nice for spring and summer coffee dates. I adore the old decor they have. I also noticed all their syrups that they have available! Their syrup game is on point! Bottles upon Bottles! My drink was good. I do wish there was a hair more cream. The flavors were there, I should have added a pack of sweetner to sweeten it a little more but I didn't mess with it. The espresso was present but on the watered down side. It wasn't the best but it was a nice to get that much needed afternoon caffeine jolt. This coffee joint is cute and cozy. I adore the outdoor seating in the front and back of the venue. My drink was ok. Customer service could be worked on a bit. I'm hardly in Star but we will see if I'll be back. Maybe my next experience will be better than today's.

That said, Form & Function really does bring something fresh to Eagle. The vibe is modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed without feeling cold. I also think they have the biggest alt milk selection of any local coffee shop I've been to, and I've tried basically all of them around here. Their seasonal drinks are consistently good too. One underrated thing? They're one of the only coffee shops in Eagle actually open on Sundays and open later into the afternoon. That's surprisingly rare around here. (Yes, Eagle Coffee & Bakery is open too, but their coffee always tastes burnt to me.) This place clearly thought about how people actually use coffee shops. Tons of seating options, lots of outlets, side tables that work well for laptops, a big upstairs group table, plus a little play kitchen and games for kiddos. The downstairs can get a little loud because of the high ceilings, but it's still way calmer than most busy cafés. Everything is super clean, including the bathrooms, which honestly matters more when you have kids. I have had the pleasure of checking out their downtown locations, especially their location at the Sparrow. It's such a great vibe down there! After finding out that this location is right down the road from me, you know I had to make my way in. I came in later in the morning so it was pretty chill. The venue is bright and simple. I love the simplicity of everything. The walls aren't over decorated. The tables and chairs and nicely spaced, the big windows give such great bright lightening and there's wonderful outdoor seating available too. I initially was on the wrong end of the counter. I finally realized and made my way to the register. I wasn't greeted by a barista. She wasn't the friendliest but she wasn't rude, she was there. She got my order squared away and I just hung out till it was ready. While waiting, I did notice all the goodies they had available. The baked goods looked fresh and yummy. I do believe they have a chia seed pudding in the little refrigerated case, it looked good. I'll have to grab some chia seed pudding the next time I'm in! I got myself something different from my normal americano. Today's drink was an iced matcha with almond milk. I did ask for some sugar free syrup. The few couple drinks I have gotten from the two other locations were Chai so it's good to know about not having sugar free syrups as an option. The barista did offer me honey or maple syrup as an alternative. I took up on her suggestion for the honey. My drink looked fabulous. It was rich in color. I really like the ice they serve here, it's great ice to chew on. I do like my coffee/tea to be slightly sweeter so I did end up adding a couple packets of blue sugar to my drink. I did a good few sips before I added the extra sweetner. It was hearty in matcha and you can taste the creaminess of the almond milk. The honey was there but the added sweetener did help enhance the honey. I enjoyed the nice weather today and had my drink outside. They have quite a few options for outdoor seating. Picnic tables, a few andorak chairs and a pint size picnic table for kids were available. I appreciate the big umbrellas at the picnic tables. It gave nice shade. In the space between the coffee shop and the boutique next door is where a lot of the seating is. It's quite charming and relaxing. I adore the strung up lights. I couldn't really enjoy them today since it was so bright out but I can imagine it being a great way to end day in a fall day. A hot cup of coffee, sitting in a huge andorak chair under the lights. It's great to know this local coffee joint is right down the road from me. I have always gotten great drinks from the other Form and Functions so it's nice to have this location as an option. My drink was good and it was nice being able to enjoy it under a huge umbrella today. I do wish the staff was a little friendlier. I came later in the day so my mood is already set. I couldn't imagine having the people working today start my day. I wouldn't be in the best mood. Hopefully the customer service will be a pleasant as my drink the next time around.

It has a very local, community feel that's getting harder to find. The coffee itself is fine -- not terrible, not "drive across town for it" amazing either. I usually just get the unlimited refill cup and drink from one of their mugs while I work for a bit. Where this place really shines is the baked goods and breakfast food. You can smell everything being made from their little kitchen, and it feels genuinely homemade in a way most coffee shops don't anymore. Their molasses cookies are somehow available year-round and I'm not exaggerating when I say if they're sold out, my day takes a turn. The quiche Lorraine is also legitimately excellent with a buttery crust, and they usually have a surprisingly good variety of gluten-free baked goods too. One thing I oddly appreciate: no music and no giant café chaos. Also no plugs, so this isn't the place to camp for 6 hours on a laptop. But if I need a quiet spot to answer emails or get 1-1.5 hours of work done without distraction, this is actually one of my favorite places to go.
