    Banana Foster

One of the best banana flavored ice creams I've had!! There were bits of caramel, banana, and Nilla (?) -- so good! This was much needed on a hot day but it was melting extremely quickly.

This small ice cream shop is inside the Farmers Marker. We ordered the Italian ice coconut cream . It was like eating snow! Nom nom nom lol. Smooth, creamy coconut, so delicious. It tastes better than other coconut ice cream and feels organic. Due to us asking if there are peanuts, the worker asked if it was a food allergy, then said she will go in back to make sure its untouched. Thank you so much Lily!

There's a lot of options and the price is reasonable. It's nice that you can add any ice cream to the affogato vs. it being limited to just vanilla. I did a coffee flavor with heath pieces and it was delicious!

The Ice cream is made there! Only spot I know that has banana foster ice cream, which is now my favorite flavor. The employees are cool as well!

Ice cream scoops of Cookie Monster and strawberry shortcake in a medium cup. Plus a nice piña colada.

Delicious flavors. We were pleasantly surprised how yummy it was. They offered free samples and it was nice to try ice cream flavors before picking your scoops. Such a nice treat on a hot day!

Cute little ice cream stand at the market that is at The Grove! I couldn't decide so I got a cup with two different flavors - coconut and mango. Both flavors were delicious and perfectly refreshing for the hot Los Angeles weather! Expect to pay a lot for the ice cream though (it's $8 for the smallest size!)

I really enjoyed the handcrafted ice cream here! I tried their Cookie Monster, Strawberry, and Vanilla. My favorite would have to be the Cookie Monster. I loved the balance between the vanilla, Oreos cookies, and chocolate chips. On top of that, it was not overly sweet! It is a tad bit on the pricey side. I got a medium cup and was able to choose 3 flavors and it came out to be a little over $7.

Milo's Minted Chip in a waffle cone. Nothing is better.

The place is super small and no line, but the flavors were plentiful. I forget what they do, but you can get a combo of flavors in a single scoop. Cookies n cream and cookie dough are my two favorites, so I got that combo. It was super yummy. No wonder the place has so many positive reviews on Yelp!!

Then, an eternity ago, it closed and we were sad. Then Long Beach Creamery opened and we weren't that sad for that long, but still, I absolutely still thought about them every once in a while, sad that they'd left. Then, a much closer eternity ago (about a year ago - I've been super burned-out and not finishing my reviews), I was on my way from an event back to the blue line and walked by and noticed that they had, in fact, just moved. So obviously we had to get some. Verdict - yes, it absolutely was as good as I remembered. I wouldn't go back to DTLA just for ice cream, Long Beach Creamery being walking distance and wonderful, but I would absolutely stop here if I were back in DTLA and wanted ice cream. It's a bit pricey, but all craft ice cream is going to be, and it is definitely craft. And you can save a lot by getting a 3-scoop, which is very much enough to share for two people, if not slightly too much.

It was creamy, flavorful, and not overwhelmingly sugary, which I appreciated. The fish-shaped pastries with filling were honestly my favorite part though. The shop itself has a cute and cozy atmosphere that makes the experience even more enjoyable. The line was longer than I've ever seen it wrapping around outside. I saw so many young people in cosplay, possibly characters for an anime I'm not familiar with. Look at the photos and see if you recognize it. A character might be called Silverwolf? Anyway, I was so happy to see Somisomi so busy. My friend and I stayed in line for 20 minutes before we were able to place our order, we had only 10 minutes to spare before our tickets at the Aratani Theatre. We wanted to have the milk and 8-bit boysenberry swirl soft serve in a cup. Unfortunately, we realized that we had to decide between possibly not being led into our reserved seat at the theater or missing out on this delicious dessert. It was just a matter of not realizing how long it would take. I don't blame Somisomi because they had a huge number of ahbong to make fresh, and of course, there was no way to cut in line We ended up telling the lovely staff that we had to leave, and to please give our orders under "Coco" to someone for free so it wouldn't be wasted. I'm sure it would've been tart and delicious!! The staff were working hard and very patient. They sometimes had to call names three times to get a response for adding toppings. If you go there and it's crowded, please be patient and also please be ready to go up to claim your order right away for the sake of the waiting hungry crowd ;)!

But I wanted to leave a review because the girl (I forgot to ask her name, sadly) who helped me today was really lovely! I bought 30g of their matcha and admittedly thought when they didn't give it to me at the counter that they forgot, but I sat down at a table to eat my ice cream and decided to just ask for it after I finished. Thank goodness I did, because the cashier came up to my table about 10 minutes later and handed me a little bag of fresh-ground matcha. She took a second to explain to me how to store it and keep it fresh, and I just really appreciated the extra bit of customer service, even if it's something they're maybe expected to do. When I have the money, I'll definitely come back and get their 100g pack! He said it wasn't too sweet and had lovely bitter, more earthy notes from the hojicha. I am a matcha fan so I just stick with 100% matcha flavor, but both options are solid! The soft serve is such a yummy texture that's perfectly creamy and dusted with matcha powder for an extra kick. It tastes rich and authentic, without any grassy notes typical of cheap matcha.
