This is a beautiful Salt Creek Grille located in Rumson, a rich-y area in NJ, right by the water. My in-laws took us here to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary, and we've also been here for their weekend brunch (excellent btw) as well as few other times for prime rib, when in town. I've never had any complaints. Their service is excellent. Food is definitely comparable to the value, in fact, usually exceeds my expectations. Food: Prime rib: Salt-crusted, cooked to your liking, decently priced and quite tasty. Served with mashed potatoes and asparagus-- both good! Double pork chop: Took a bite of The Husband's dish and it was pretty tasty as well! Citrus salmon w/ brown rice: Sis-in-law devoured it. She was also hungry. I didn't get to try it but the citrus mixed with seafood really throws me off. She said it was good, so take her word at your own risk. Short rib rigatoni: MIL said this was "like beef stew with pasta". That screams a big responding "NO" Garlic & Parmesan Bread: Really tasty, especially fresh out of the oven. After a slice or two, it becomes a bit much, but it is quite a tasty bread Pretty consistent with their SCG that I've tried in Pasadena, CA (my previous hometown) as well as the one in Midtown, also my old neighborhood. Outstanding meal. My date had just gotten a haircut and we were looking for a place to get a quick bite to eat. Upon searching via "Yelp" for a local restaurant I found Salt Creek Grille. I would recommend this place for a romantic date or whatever. We chose outside dining this evening under the canopy. I ordered filet mignon and he had the sword fish...OMG!!! So good. I also would recommend the sourdough loaf... my mouth is watering just thinking about it don't judge me, but try it for yourself. This is a chain although there aren't many locations. This location is on the Navesink river with great views. The bar is especially attractive to the younger crowd. The last time I went which was I admit a few years ago the portions were small everything was a la cart, that makes it pretty pricey and for the money there are lots of other restaurants in the area that are less expensive and offer a much higher selection. read more

The only bad thing is this place is a bit pricey. So plan to spend close to 50 dollars for an appetite and a meal. This place is definitely worth it. This restaurant has the potential to be great, but I think we visited on an off night. To begin with, half of the cheese on the Warm Sourdough Loaf was cold and not melted like the rest. Then our steaks, the filet mignon special and the ny strip steak were both FAR, FAR over cooked. We had to send the filet mignon back and the new steak they brought out was cooked properly. It was a shame because the flavors of the steaks were incredible- especially the ny strip. The real highlight of the meal was the chocolate soufflé which you have to order 30 minutes ahead of time. That was very delicious and I loved that they served Ice cream and hot fudge and whipped cream on the side so you could assemble the dessert to your liking. However, the staff forgot to honor a birthday in our party. I would give this place another try because of the dessert and our excellent waitress who worked very hard to make things right. read more

Loved this place! We had the spinach and artichoke dip which was delicious, but the chips you could tell were refried because they must've been stale from sitting out. To drink we had the white pear martini and the castle rock wine from CA- both were amazing and just strong enough. For dinner we had the ribs which my boyfriend loved and the chicken and prosciutto pasta. The pasta was perfectly made and the goat cheese wasn't overbearing like it usually could be. I went for a hosted dinner so my menu was limited. The whole venue is beautiful, water side with a gorgeously decorated restaurant. My party knew the owner so we had special service. Do indulge on their asiago chicken which is a very unique variant of a chicken parmesean with sage and basil. I've never had anything like that. Do not try their prime rib, it was just a piece of meat with potatoes and beans -- nothing special. I will go back for their asiago chicken and other tasty gems. read more

I may have found a new favorite, go-to restaurant. Salt Creek Grille has it all - atmosphere, great food, great service, and a solid drink list. After my latest visit, I told my wife that my meal may have been the best restaurant meal I've ever had, and I wasn't exaggerating. I went with the Slow-Roasted Half Chicken, and the taste of it all had me absolutely blown away. From the herb crusting on the perfectly cooked chicken to the creamy mascarpone polenta, everything was A++. My wife loved everything that she had as well. I can't wait to try the rest of their menu, but I also feel like I'm going to have a difficult time pulling myself away from ordering the chicken again. I grew up in the area so we have been coming here for years. After Covid this place changed a little so we haven't been going as much. I really like Salt Creek Grille! One of my favorite things about this place.. Sunday Brunch! Who does not like stations filled with meats, cheeses, salads, waffles, pastas with short rib, desserts! Never mind the coffee, the mimosas, the bloody Mary's! The ambience is more dressy then casual, but don't worry no tux needed lol. You pull in the parking lot, there is valet, especially nice when it is raining! Walk up the stairs and pass the outdoor seating/waiting areas near the fire pits! Walk in, high ceilings, beams, very large bar! The view overlooks the water and is beautiful on a clear day/night. There is a menu when you get to the table of the omelette selection that is included, the lobster omelette is the only upcharge at $5. We ordered coffee and bloody Mary's to start! The coffee was very good and in a nice big cup! The Bloody Mary was not my favorite and I did not finish mine. I like a flavorful, spicy Bloody Mary and this was not much more than some vodka in tomato juice with a few olives. Next, grab a plate, I filled up on Belgium waffles with strawberry and whipped cream which were delicious! I also filled another plate with cheeses and salad there were so many options. Then we ordered omelettes! And mimosas! I ordered the eggs Benedict which I loved and it was a small plate which was good and not overwhelming as I wanted to have room for dessert! The lobster omelette was also ordered and I was told it was not very flavorful which was a little disappointing! Overall it is an elevated buffet but still a buffet. Some choices were better than others but it is a very great option for a beautiful Sunday day! Salt Creek Grille has an ample dock for dock and dine and we have been there twice in the last three days because the food was so amazing. The Chilean Seabass was delectable with accompanying lemon sauce and mashed potatoes- it made tears come out of my eyes it was so good. It was $42 for the entrée but it was worth the money as every bite was heavenly! The dish was a true masterpiece. My husband got the pork chop and the sauce was savory and the sides were tasty. The restaurant is very good about substituting sides as well. The next time we went (2 days later) I opted for the bacon wrapped shrimp with horseradish appetizer and shared a few different appetizers including the artichoke dip, calamari and brussels sprouts and everything was cooked to perfection. What a find! Staying down in Atlantic Highlands for the week, and was searching for places with great views, meat, good cocktails. This came up. Excellent service, beautiful view by the window -- on the 4th of July no less. BF was thrilled that they had an Aviation cocktail on the menu; I went for the spicy mango margarita -- both excellent. Somehow he finished the extremely large portion of mesquite ribs (2 racks) whereas I had to go for the prime rib special - both wonderful. And our extremely knowledgeable server brought us a sample of both the cab sauv we were interested in, and one that was a new one on us (Cult) that we liked better. Not sure why their rating is as low as it is. My boyfriend and I were here for Valentine's Day dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Even with our early reservation for 5:45, the place was already packed. The ambiance was exceptional! Initially we were seated at a booth away from the windows, but like the pain in the ass that I am, I asked if we could move to a primo spot overlooking the water. This request was surprisingly obliged. There was a special (probably limited) menu available for the occasion. Rob ordered a crab cake dinner, while I ordered a shrimp & scallop farfalle. We both remarked that the pasta was superior to what we usually have; it tasted like it was made from scratch and our hoi polloi palates are used to the boxed kind. I wasn't able to try Rob's crab cake (he didn't even offer, harumph!) though he seemed to like it. I did snag a few of his fries which were pretty standard shoestring fries treated with a more sophisticated seasoning. Setting was great, food was great, service was great. No complaints.
