We have been here four times, so you can see its excellent. Service is excellent. The food is top shelf. Everything we ordered was excellent . Staff is very attentive and pleasant. Atmosphere is upbeat and relaxing, though the room can get noisy. The deck too is breathtaking for after dinner views. Outside fireplaces are beautiful. Pricey, but you get what you pay for. Amazing meal and service at salt. Shrimp cocktail app was amazing, shrimp were huge (my only complaint, arugula salad the came with it was VERY salty). My husband said the NE clam chowder was good but he wished the sauce was a little thicker (it was more brothy like). My husband got the chicken dish and I had the braised short rib and I have to tell you, the chicken melted in your mouth, one of the best chicken that I've ever had!! I had the braised short rib and you can cut it with a spoon it was so tender!! A must side is the brussel sprouts, words just cannot describe how delicious that dish is!! Had a disappointing experience after hearing how nice the restaurant was. The hotel is beautiful and first class but the restaurant isn't. We ordered crispy calamari which was very oily, a tomahawk veal chop which was very tough, ceviche was ok but nothing special, fried oysters were good, kale salad was ok, service was ok. There are better places to enjoy your meal in LBI. read more

The food and drinks were great especially the tuna tar tar. The service on the other hand was terrible for our rehearsal dinner with a table of 18. Reserved months ahead of time. There seemed to be one bar tender and one server for the whole busy restaurant and a million bus boys just stand around. Therefore it took forever to place orders and 1/2 hour for drinks. The poor server and bartender. They need to hire more staff. People at the table started to get up and order at the bar instead which also took forever and having to miss time together. We also stayed at the Hotel it's absolutely gorgeous but for the price you pay to stay there the service is not great. We wrote on our reservation that it is our wedding weekend they said or did nothing. Just a little note of congratulations would do. Something little that goes a long way. Breakfast was really delicious but they don't open until 8am. Overall, unfortunately wouldn't go back. read more

We really looked forward to our reservation tonight, but it was a disappointing experience. The food was nothing special- we ordered calamari, scallops, veal chop, fingerling potatoes & mushrooms. Opted to dine outside because dining room was so noisey & after being told a server would be "right with us" had to go in to ask for someone after more than a 10 minute wait (but when our server finally got there, he was great.) This place obviously caters to wedding guests & off islanders. To anyone else we suggest you support local restaurants for better cuisine & warmer atmosphere. *We understand current staffing problems & delivery issues, but even given these allowances we won't be going back. read more

Will start with the good, excellent calamari and fried oysters. Then the soups were just ok, mostly corn in lbi chowder and not enough crab in crab bisque. When I come down to island I would prefer New England clam chowder, it is one thing the island is known for. Also crab bisque should just be a good old fashion thick , creamy bisque. Salmon and veal chop was also just ok. Service was a little slow ,but waitress was very nice. I understand place is newly opened so I will give it another try later in summer and hoping they get all the kinks out. Also, for these kind of prices you have to have upscale glass wear, my Martini was served in a champagne glass. You need a real nice size martini glass. read more

Finally made it to hotel lbi, saw so many good reviews on the place. Im not sure if the people leaving the good reviews just don't know what good food is or what. I went last night, 5-27, was not busy so you'd imagine there'd be little room for disappointment. 3 of us went with ribeye steaks, we prefer ribeyes over strips due to the marbling & a more fatty piece of meat. This ribeyes were all pure fat as you can tell from the picture i'll be posting. Bottom line is, for the menu prices, everything should've been knocked out of the park. The food was sub par at best. Friend ordered the salmon, requested it to be fully cooked as salmon should be, the middle was raw, sent it back to be cooked more, when it came back there were still raw parts. Manager came over offered desert for her on them instead of taking the salmon off the bill. Desert was the only highlight. Tuna tartar was ok. Won't be back here probably ever, you'd get a better meal at any other restaurant on or off lbi. read more

First off the food was good. I loved the roast clams and the chowder and the kid pizza was nice. The lamb the most expensive dish on the menu at $50 was not. It needed seasoning and the mint chutney had no flavor. It was bland. So they lost one star for that. They lost another star for the noise and late arrival of food. Lastly they lost a star on price. It was way way way overpriced. I have eaten in 5 star restaurants was not charged this much for dinner. It's a shame because I would go back if it just wasn't for the hefty price tag! read more

For appetizers my wife and I split a Burrata salad that was both creamy and tasty, very fresh tomatoes and I think a melon(?). We've been here a few times. My husband ordered the veal chop, was very tough and hard to get through with a steak knife. I had the halibut. That was delicious. MIL had the short ribs pappardelle which was yummy and abundant. Service was sloooww. 1st drink was incorrect. Was supposed to be blood orange spicy margarita waiter gave us cosmo. Took forever to wave down the waiter to correct. Then the incorrect cosmo was on the bill along with the correct drinks. All around overpriced. This place is very expensive with mediocre food. My husband and I ordered shrimp cocktail which was delicious but how do you screw that up? The octopus was a chewy gigantic tentacle. We could barely keep it down. Next came the filet with crab cake. The filet was delicious but the sauces on the side had way too much vinegar. The crab cake had pieces of shell in it and was fishy. We ordered a side of mushrooms which were doused in garlic. Our bill was $140 before tip. We gave 3 stars for the fantastic staff. They were kind and attentive. First we ordered a seafood tower. 2/6 oysters were strange looking for cracked shells. Next we ordered crab cakes and octopus. The octopus had a red sauce which my boyfriend tried first, it turns out the dish had nuts! The kitchen ignored the ticket on my order alerting them of my allergy. My group ordered the ahi tuna bowl, scallops, and halibut dishes and everything was delicious. The fish was so fresh and cooked to perfection. I had the tuna bowl and my only complaint was that the broth and tuna seasoning was just a bit salty. This is by far my new favorite spot on the island! From the service to the food everything was absolutely amazing. This really is the elevated dining experience LBI has been waiting for. Matt the manager really went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and taken care of. He even went out of his way to purchase Aleve for some one in my party that had a head ache. We had the seafood tower, maple bacon and the calamari. All of which were amazing. For my entree I had the bucatini and it was phenomenal. When we alerted the waitress that one of our guests had a birthday that evening they brought us this delicious crepe brûlée! Which just added to our already perfect evening. Romantic ambiance, clean, and wonderfully decorated! Waitstaff is very friendly and accommodating. Drinks are good and strong, which makes the price not so bad. Portions are appropriate--you'll be full but won't have to take anything home. The shrimp bucatini is SO good, full of great but simple flavor. My boyfriend had the special, a Mediterranean fish, and ate every bite. For dessert we split the chocolate tart--also delicious. With three drinks, dinner, and dessert, we were only $115 in the hole.
