I asked for a Tito's and soda tall and they changed me 4 dollars extra per drink. I said I didn't ask for an extra pour. The manager told me I should have know and told them it was to strong. She said i was paying for it and I didn't have a choice. It was going to be $28.50 for two singles drinks. It took a second manager to fix the problem and then they couldn't take off the over charging from the drink had to take it off the food. I really think there is something very shady going on here. Been here twice and will never go back again. This place is ripping people off. And laughing their way all the way to the bank.. read more

Today I decided to treat myself to go out for lunch. Had this Restaurant in my plans for a while. Surprisingly it is extremely big but very busy. Being that was only one person I decided to choose the bar. The staff was extremely friendly at the bar. I think it'd only took maybe about 30 seconds and I had a drink in front of me. Even though I knew exactly what I was gonna have I even had a menu. I ordered the tuna Tata. It only took about 10 or so minutes and my lunch was in front of me. Very nice presentation. And even though this is an appetizer, it is ample for a main dish. Like I said, the presentation was fabulous, but the taste was spectacular. I would highly recommend this dish to anybody that likes tuna. read more

Horrible Horrible experience .Me and my husband went there for lunch and I ordered a shrimp burger sandwich and after consuming half the burger I noticed that the other half of burger was cold and undercooked so I immediately informed the waitress and she bought a so called manager over by the name of Jessie and she proceeded to inform me that the shrimp burger was cooked and she showed it to chef and he said it was cooked as well .But when she first approached the table she said I was unsatisfied with the remains of my food I did eat half the burger but the other half was completely uncooked and tasted raw .When I eventually received the check the item was still on check and I asked to talk to her again and she said she wouldn't take it off check since I ate half so I asked her to recook the burger and give me half and she refused.i was treated so horribly in this establishment read more

I learned about Salt Shack from social media so my fiancee and I decided to check it out for dinner. It's a waterfront restaurant with an indoor area and a large outdoor patio + a sandy area and picnic tables at the water. We were seated on the wood patio area that overlooked the water and picnic tables. We were hoping for a nice sunset dinner but it was pretty overcast and threatening to rain so there wasn't a sunset to see. We still enjoyed looking out over the water and people watching. You can pull right up to the restaurant from the water and dock your boat on the shore which is really neat! It took a little bit for our server to greet us initially but once she did she was superb. I wish I remembered her name! She checked on us often and brought drink refills before we could even ask. We ordered the fish dip as an appetizer and grouper tacos and crab cakes for entrees. All of our food came out very quickly, we were surprised since it was pretty busy when we were there. The fish dip tasted great, my only request was that it came with jalapeños. We were so hungry that it was mostly gone by the time our server came around so I didn't ask for any. We did enjoy the spicy sauce that came with it, I think it was the guava cocktail sauce? I got two grouper tacos (you can get 2 or 3) and I'm happy I only got two! They were the most hefty tacos I've had in a long time! I was shocked at how much fish was in them. They tasted great, no complaints at all! For my side I got the yucca fries which come drizzled in a pork chimichurri sauce. The sauce was good, a different approach compared to the usual white sauces that come with yucca fries. The fries were a little soggy, possibly bc of the sauce but I still enjoyed them. Next time I may ask for the sauce on the side. My fiancee got the crab cake dinner, theres a crab cake sandwich and the crab cake entree and the price is about $7 different. The dinner comes with 2 crab cakes vs the sandwich which I would assume is only one. It's a good deal to get the dinner and get a second crab cake. He asked for a side of the key lime aioli for his crab cakes. I tried a bite of his crab cake and I think it might've been the best crab cake i've ever had, it was SO good! We both really loved the key lime aioli as well. I noticed on their menu they have a lot of unique sauces, I definitely want to try some others next time we go! I ventured to the bathroom and was a bit surprised by the placement of mirrors and the paper towel dispenser. Whomever installed it must have been very tall! I could see from my eyes to the top of my head in the mirror and water ran down my arms as I reached up to use the paper towel dispenser. It was honestly comical at how out of place the setup was. Nonetheless, I was able to do my business and we still loved our experience so no harm, no foul, just a laugh. Overall, we had an amazing experience and were very impressed. The food came out quick, it tasted amazing, some of the best seafood we've had in a while and the atmosphere was wonderful. We were already talking about when we could come back! It's about a 45 minute drive for us from Orlando but it's totally worth it! read more

We chose Salt Shack to celebrate our friend's birthday, but unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. Our appetizers arrived within about 10-15 minutes, which was a great start. After we finished those, however, it took roughly 20 minutes before we saw our server again to place our entrée order. Once we ordered, we waited another 55 minutes for our food. When our entrées finally arrived, they were cold, as though they had been sitting in the kitchen before being brought to our table. We let our server know, but only one of the meals was replaced with a hot version. We were also given a to-go box with one extra taco and a side of fries. By the end of the meal, our server apologized for what she called a "bad birthday dinner," which we appreciated, but by then it was already 9:30 p.m. and we were ready to leave. Since we were celebrating a birthday, it was especially disappointing that there wasn't even an offer of a small dessert or any gesture to help make up for the experience. Overall, the long wait, cold food, and lack of service recovery made for a very disappointing birthday dinner. We left wishing we had chosen somewhere else to celebrate. read more

5 star service on the outside patio on the lake side! "Kincera" (probably have the spelling wrong) was fantastic. She can serve us any time. It was our first visit after hearing so many good reports on food & service. We started with the 1/2 pound of peel & eat shrimp. It was good! Good size, good cocktail sauce (sauce could have been a tad spicier). Nice presentation. Next we each got the 1/2 bacon cheeseburger- one with a bun and one without a bun. One with jicama salad and one with veggies. Burgers were done to perfection. Veggies were good. Jicama salad - I loved the jicama and onion, but a little too much bell peppers Lastly we had to have dessert - key lime pie. Not too sweet and it had a tart edge to it - wonderful flavor and loved the key lime zest on top! We will definitely return! read more

When this place first opened it was easily a 5 star but over the last year everything has declined including food (smaller portions and lower quality) service, and over all value. You can't beat the location but I'm less inclined to go. Not sure if management changed but the place is slipping! Hoping someone takes a closer look. read more

Located in downtown Clermont on Lake Minneola, this restaurant has a boat house type of feel with lots of different seating options; outside, inside and even a patio area. We opted to sit inside and watch the game and were greeted by our server Natalia. She was easy going and attentive. For drinks my husband ended up ordering their pina colada, it was made with fresh ingredients and even had shaved coconut on top. Way better than any cruise ship pina colada. To start we ordered the lobster bisque, it had a really creamy taste which I adored and yes there was lobster in every bite. We ordered the chicken sandwich which was served with their house made jerk sauce and ranch. Also we ordered their grouper tacos with yuca fries. All the dishes have some kind of accompanying sauce which you can tell that they are made from scratch. Everything tasted really delicious plus the view was beautiful. Located right off a lake with a small beach and beautiful outdoor seating, I felt like I left central Florida for a night. We sat out on the lawn chairs out on the beach while we waited to be called for our table. Service was amazing and our server was extremely friendly and attentive. My friend and I ordered the catch of the day, which was swordfish on that particular day. We also got fried gator bites and the smoked mahi spread as starters. If you've been the the Tampa Bay Salt Shack you have to try out this one in Clermont! Not only is the menu and ambiance very similar, the vibes and service are great! While in Tampa the ambiance is more sea and beach life, this gives you more of a feel for the lake life and cabins! We decided to stop in on a Sunday afternoon and the wait for only 2 people was 30 minutes minimum! Thankful they allow you sit near the bar area to wait for drinks and order, and we stumbled upon to bar seats! The bartender was super personal and gave great advice on drinks and food! We also tried the recommended pina colada and I would come back just for the virgin one (the alcoholic one was just as good). The food was as expected due to my past experience in Tampa! I went to salt shack on the lake a few months ago and I had a pleasant experience so I returned for Father's Day my husband sent me out for a nice dinner while he's working and my experience was a 0/10 as i will not be returning and neither should anyone else! First and foremost their food portions have gotten very small I mean the rice was so hard and the shrimp was so tiny and could have been cooked more on the grill I did not complaint so much I purchased another meal to go that's when the waitress was so nasty! I don't have to be a white woman to be respected I work and my husband work very hard for our money and her attitude was gross I asked her if she could take up all of the plates because I was waiting for the meal and my area was still dirty I am used to going to restaurants where I am treated well and highly respected this however was not the case she insulted me in front of customers and was very hostile towards me I kindly ask for a manager from another waitress and the manager was no different she was very rude and also a white woman there was hair in my drinks, food was horrible today, I left her $0 for a tip for her nasty attitude, and the manager is a nasty woman. I will not be returning here and they have dogs next to customers under the beach table while they eat which is also a very nasty health concern. Salt shack is a hidden gem! Walked in with a big group about an hour before closing and they took us in ever so rapidly. Our server was great and so patient with us. It was a cold night so we sat inside, but they have such a cute outdoors area in the back. I was told I had to try their wings and they did not disappoint plus it was a good portion! Also had their coconut shrimp which was delicious with their house made sauce on the side (better than Bahama breeze which is tough to say lol). Enjoyed all of this with a lovely mango pina colada. Went in late Valentine's Day night, after hitting up the parks. The feel was very "hole in the wall" which is usually a good sign for me at least. Glad we tried it! The service was amazing for being so late, usually going to restaurants late you get less than ideal service. Wish i could remember waitress name because she was awesome! Got the ceviche, really good just too many chips, and the tuna tartare with not enough chips. We both got the crab cake sandwich and we definitely recommend!! The only thing that could make such an awesome sandwich better is adding Cole slaw and pickles (new item maybe? My first time at the Salt Shack. Its close to my daughter and was a great location for the kids. We sat outback and they had live music. I loved the fact the music was subtle and not overpowering. Absolutely loved this place! We originally were supposed to meet up at another restaurant close by but fortunately it was closed that day so we went to Plan B. Opened Yelp, read the reviews and said let's meet here. Parking has about 15 spots next to the restaurant than a larger lot very close. You enter through what looks like a side door and a small hostess stand with a very friendly young lady took us to our table. The gentleman who was our waiter was very nice however my only complaint would be he could have been more attentive. We started with the Ahi and Fish bites. Both were excellent and a hit with the table. I ordered the grouper sandwich, lightly blackened and it was PERFECT! Everyone else enjoyed their meal, they all got the fish tacos. The location is right on the lake, with great views, tables outside as well as the AC inside. Some alarm did go off a couple times but overall a wonderful experience and would happily visit again! read more

We had the ceviche to start and that was absolutely amazing!!! My daughter had the dirty banana drink and the grilled gulf shrimp and I had the skinny margarita and the Island chicken. Service was IMMACULATE the whole time our party was there. My empty water cup was replaced with a full one in the blink of an eye, without me asking. Super cute spot right on the water. They have an inside part, a deck spot and picnic tables in the sand. If you have a boat you can dock it right at the restaurant. There is a free parking lot right next door to the restaurant and it had plenty of spots. Food was good, not great but good. We did really enjoy the fried oysters! Those were great. We accidentally got Gator bites instead of fish bites which was a happy accident as I've never had Gator and according to my table mates it was the best thing ever! I met a friend for lunch and the place did not disappoint us. We started out at a table on the porch, which gave us a great view of the lake. Our server, Ian, was friendly and once we told him we were not in a rush, he left us to decide on our choices. My friend had the Tuna Tartare, which she raved about, and I had the fish basket(grouper on this day). As the day got progressively humid, we asked to move inside to have dessert. My friend had the Rum Cake and I had homemade Key Lime Pie. Both were excellent. The place was busy for lunch on a Monday, so I have no idea what the dinner crowd is like. You HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE! I had no idea that clermont could boast a beach restaurant on their lake and make it feel like you left the Orlando area all together ! We got there around noon and wanted to eat outside , they led us to this large patio area where we were able to sit at a round picnic table and look at the water. It was busy when we arrived! A ton of families , some sports teams, dogs , but everyone was having a blast! The beach area is nice for the kiddos and kids were swimming while the parents were enjoying the day with their drinks. It looked like the area we were in had a set up for live music so I would love to check it out. Our server was extremely attentive , I don't remember her name but she was great and got our drinks and food out to us very quickly despite it being so busy. I do recommend outdoor seating for the best view, though. The food was delicious and the waiter was very fast and friendly. This was my first time sending food back ever. Ordered a chicken sandwich and the chicken was rock hard and chewy. The person I was with took a bite as well and we both couldn't even swallow it, it was tough and disgusting. Sent it back and switched for an impossible burger which I thought would come with at least lettuce / tomato as a normal burger would but it was just a plain patty and bun. Nothing on it. Language barrier with the waitress didn't help. The atmosphere was nice (though watching kids play and spit red lake water out of their mouths was concerning) and the music wasn't too loud, but the prices were not worth it by a mile. A friend of ours suggested this place. As we were following directions at one point I thought this was some where we had been before. This place is more towards the park area and WOW what a great time. Even though they were packed we still were able to get a wonderful water view seat outside. They even had seating right on the waters edge. The atmosphere here is super chill and laid back. Parking is a little tight so go next door to the Public Parking area and just walk over. Jordan was our server and she was fantastic. My sweetheart and I shared the Fish Bites and fires. Our app was the Spicy Jalapeno Mahi Dip. Our order came Our quick which was nice and everything was delicious. Everything was just fantastic. Boats were coming and going. There was a couple people were on Jet Skiing also. They had seating on the other side that was beach style with Adirondack chairs facing the water so you could just have a drink, chill and watch the sun set. In other words, yes we will be making a point to come back here as often as possible. We had such a great time here. Side note: Jordan asked that we include the following. I've come to this restaurant over the years and always come by when I'm in this area. Very tasty food and very beautiful views of the lake. I sat outside on the lake and enjoyed the breeze.
