Don't plan any parties there. They don't have a way to make reservations and they won't even take your name down until your party shows up all of them, and then will continue to make you wait an hour past that. Well....... due to the savory smell in the air that lead me to eat here with my wife. We chose to check it out for the first time. Turns out the savory smell in the air was a smoke screen to what we ate. The food was way over priced for the no BBQ flavor, the beans were cold and tasteless, the ribs were cooked too fast and barely had any smoke flavor if any. I give this place 5 stars. Food and service were both excellent the 2 times we have gone. They also do a great job iturning their tables over so when there is a sidewalk of people waiting for a table, the wait wasn't really that long. My only complaint is that last time we were there, they were out of fries. How in the world does that happen?? I would understand if they ran out of one of their smoked meats but these are fries. I'll give the benefit of the doubt they aren't frozen in a bag. In which case, start chopping. We took my wife there in Mother's Day and she couldn't wait to get the fries again. The local beer selection is fantastic. I love that they get limited release beers like Perennial's Abraxas on tap. That alone is enough to keep me coming back. But then you add in the food and it's a no-brainer addition to the top of my list. Hint: ask about the Schmidt's Burger if you can't decide between their delicious burgers or delicious brisket. Absolutely awesome service, great food, and a price that doesn't put you in the poorhouse. The managers are always on the floor or out on the patio making sure guest are taken care of. You can tell how good they by how crowded they are and usually a line to get seated. Unlike the overpriced, small portion, former Mother in Law house across the street. I got the pulled pork and pulled chicken combo and both were very good. I thought the potato salad was bland and just meh. That being said i prefer mustard based and this was mayo based. The mac and cheese made up for it though. Very tasty. My husband got the brisket and wing combo and lived both. They had four sauces to choose from. Service was good and they have a large drink selection. We sat on the patio, which was a very nice area. My only complaint would be that the inside was hot and cramped so i could foresee this being problematic when the weather isn't nice. read more

We have ordered takeout from here twice. I'm not sure we will do it again. The first time we didn't get 2 of the sides we ordered and didn't get the bbq sauces that we ordered either. Last night we ordered and the food was great but again, we didn't get the sauces that we ordered. I know it's a minor part of our order that we didn't receive BUT isn't the bbq sauce part of what makes BBQ so good?! For us it is so we were very disappointed. read more

Great food and fantastic service. We arrived around shift change which usually means poor service however a day shift server came right over and took our drink orders and then our food order. We ordered deviled eggs and bacon. Three perfect deviled eggs appeared with an order of deep fried chicken skins. They were phenomenal. Our combo plates were ribs and brisket with amazing popovers and we ordered Cole slaw and creamed corn. Other main order came quickly and served with several sauce choices. The servers appear to work well together as other servers refilled drinks and cleared our tables. Each one walked by and noticed something was needed. Updated review! Previous have four stars due to some spotty service, but I've been back a couple times since then and service has been excellent each time and the food continues to be exceptional. I also changed it up and tried the pulled pork tonight instead of pulled chicken and found that it was even better. Still my go-to spot in the St Louis/St Charles area! read more

We ate at this restaurant and it was great! Had the BBQ pulled chicken sandwich and it didn't disappoint. I was told that few establishments have pulled chicken because it is so dry (white meat) but this was very tender and not too dry at all. Plenty of meat on my sandwich, 4 different sauces to try, including the popular sweet and smoky. My husband had the sampler platter and said it was delicious. Also the beans and coleslaw (vinegar base) was very good. They have Excel products for soda so don't think you'll be getting a Pepsi or Coke. Staff very friendly. Outdoor seating even on a hot summer day was pleasant with plenty of shades and umbrella tables. Prices were competitive for BBQ. A nice find read more

Everything on this menu is great!!! I got the Combo #4 for me and my dad for Super Bowl and wow!!! We got brisket, ribs , pulled chicken, pulled pork. For the sides we got Mac and cheese, slaw, and their beans!!! I added in some deviled eggs, toasted raviolis for appetizers and chocolate pie dessert and we were not disappointed at all!!! My dad even said the deviled eggs were really good!!! #2 compared to grandma's his mother!!!! Which I agree with!!! You throw in some horseradish with those deviled eggs you might of had him!!! We have had BBQ all of over the country and this is up there on the list!!! Really tender and the flavor is there!!! Sauce is really good too!!! PiE was good!!! Everything was really good and tasty and made for a great super Super Bowl especially seeing our Kansas City Chiefs Win it All!!! Go CHiefs!!! Those toasted burnt end raviolis are awesome!!! Wow!!! We were very excited to try out Salt + Smoke as we heard amazing things about their brisket and ribs. We were seated at our table 7pm after a 45 minute wait. Our server came over within 5 minutes to take our drink order and we were informed that the restaurant had RUN OUTTA BRISKET!!! This was very disappointing as it was the main reason we visited. So we decided to order ribs. The drinks took quite a while and when the server came back to take our order she then informed us they RAN OUTTA RIBS!!!! This was about 7:20!! So now we had been there for over an hour. I would have understood if it was 9pm or so but not this early!! This was very shocking to us. The server could not have been more apologetic. We could tell she felt terrible to tell us this news. However, this should have been something we were told prior to being seated for sure. We ordered the wings and pulled pork which were fine. I'm sure the manager was quite busy as she/he never came over to apologize however they could have offered us a free app or round of drinks or something. Speaking of which, we tried their signature Salt+Smoke whiskey drink which was outstanding. So not recommended for later evening dinner!!! read more

Their meat, side and drink selections are good. The restaurant is clean and everyone i spoke with was friendly. Their meats brisket, ribs and pulled pork were better than most. Their sides white mac was almost a dry pastr with noodles due to the amount of ctackers that was on and in it. We came here a month ago for fun, and it was a good experience but we came out for our birthday celebration and was greeted by highschoolers offering to seat us in the middle of the room. We got our drinks, and within minutes our food came out. This isn't supposed to be fast food,at least serve us correctly. My girlfriend and I are industry professionals, we earn our money and expect to spend it on a good meal with good service, not terrible customer service and hard noodles. The manager Matt came to talk to us and I told him the food taste like reheats. He was defensive stating they don't use a microwave or anything like that. It doesn't matter if you do or don't use that. It tasted like goremet slop, they obviously left their noodles uncovered, why couldn't he just admit to that and do better next time instead of giving us piss poor excuses. We left and saw Matt in the backyard laughing about what we had told him. Epic failure to meet the standards. This may seem like an angry review, and it is, we've received better service at fast food restaurants. Totally unacceptable. read more

Well I have followed suit and brings friends visiting from out of town to experience the magic! The food is amazing, the ambiance just right, and the staff is attentive without being intrusive.
