This is the first time we have come to this restaurant. We were 4 people. Me, my daughter, her best friend & her best friend's mother. This is a very elegant restaurant. The service was high class. For appetizers we had: sea bass dumplings, tuna tartare, crispy beef dumplings & a bbq pastrami platter with mustard & pickles. All the appetizers were delicious! For the mains the cowboy steak was divided into three. It was perfectly cooked. I had the rack of lamb. Yummy! Sides were steakhouse fries & mushroom medley. Everyone was pleased with their choices. For dessert I had the Halva ice cream with pistachio cream & the others shared a bowl of donuts served with chocolate spread & strawberry jam served on the side. This was truly an amazing meal & a very enjoyable girls night out. I highly recommend this restaurant. We also had cocktails which we all enjoyed. Highly recommend this restaurant. Whether you like kosher or not, they did a fabulous job! The staff was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and kind. My husband and I ordered steaks tonight, along with smoky old fashions - our taste buds are still smiling! We can't wait to try their omakase next time. Our very simple order (3 people) took 1h45 to deliver. Throughout the night no information or updates was provided unless solicited. Many plates were sent to our table by accident (wrong table) and when we thought we finally got the food, it turned out to be completely wrong and we started eating someone else's order and realized it. Our second waitress had no idea which dish was which so she couldn't help resolve it. After 10 more minutes, our real order came in and we were more frustrated than hungry so we did not enjoy it all. Let's start by saying it's a service was excellent. We were assigned to waiters for the two of us. Made us feel special! We started with Caesar salad and sliced prime rib flatbread and both are very tasty. My wife ordered salmon and I ordered prime rib for our entrées. My wife is a salmon connoisseur and said hers was great she never finishes her salmon unless it's really good. The reason for not a five star what is my prime rib was just average., I should've ordered the grilled instead of the sliced. The lemon chiffon dessert was very very tasty. This place is ridiculous! We had to cancel our trip and our reservation. I contacted them 24 hours before and they refused to cancel and refund my money I used to make my reservation ($150-which is ridiculous to begin with). This should be considered criminal. There is no reason why they can't refund my money considering how much they charge there. I highly recommend not going there. read more

The food was really amazing. We ordered three appetizer. The tuna tartare was fine but the sliders and the chicken karaage were really out of this world. We had the Chef's special steak and my only regret was that i was too full to finish it. Also really enjoyed the Mezcal Mojito. read more

Came to Long Branch for a vacation, and this restaurant was right next to our hotel. There is little to no availability. Ordered a light dirty martini, it came EXTREMELY dirty- it was so bitter and salty I could barely drink it. Our appetizers suuuucked, the tuna tar tar came burning hot, it was so disgusting- I cant even believe this restaurant would charge such an outrageous price for these half assed bland foods, but this is just one appetizer. Truffle fries HAD NO TRUFFLE. 19 dollars for something I could buy from the frozen food section, at 711. Then came the risotto which wasn't even risotto if I brought my Italian family here to try this, the place would be in flames. The risotto was mush not even porridge, my 10 month old cousin eats finer food than that. 38 Cauliflower was terrible. Again BLAND. This place calls themselves a steakhouse what is a good steakhouse without filet minion!? The chicken was raw and the sauce was disgusting. The crispy rice was sweet with FAKE mayonnaise! The mini tuna tacos, we're served hot, and bland. The truffles in the risotto were also sticky? The only good thing about this place was our lovely server Brad, and he educated us on the restaurant's demographic. This one star is for you, Brad. Went for dinner two weeks ago with my wife and 21 year old son. The reason for only 2 stars (and 2 may even be a stretch) is the absolutely ridiculous prices at this restaurant. I've been lucky to have dined in many of the finest steakhouses in NYC and in restaurants around the world and this restaurant in Long Branch may just be the most pricey. And it just in no way, shape, or form comes up to the prices they are asking. Peter Lugars or Wolfgang's in NY are cheaper and when the meals arrive you are inundated with a team of servers all with some different function preparing your plate. It's a show and its what is expected with their high prices. This place was MORE expensive and the plate just is dropped off similar to my local 24hr diner. The food was good its just 50% at least over priced for the overall experience. Had entrees been priced in the $35-45 range we'd be back but $28-34 appetizers and prices like $92 for lamp chops is ridicules for a NJ restaurant. read more

I went here on a work dinner. I don't care about eating kosher. That said this is in a great location and a very nice place. We got a bunch of apps. The pastrami flatbread, fish and chips, and tuna tartare all were very good. I got the 12 ounce filet au poivre w mashed potatoes and mushrooms. My steak was very thick and seemed much bigger than 12oz. The steak was cooked perfectly. Normally au poivre comes w a sauce and since this was a kosher steakhouse they can't use cream. The actual steak quality was as good as most high end steakhouse in a city. If the steak had the sauce it would have been amazing. Overall everything was great except the price. This place is very expensive. The prices were higher than your normal nyc steakhouse. I think the apps were over $30 and my steak was over $70. Would I go back? If someone else was paying I would go back. If I was paying I would go else where. read more

I truly enjoyed the meal at salt steakhouse. I had the short ribs which were probably the most delicious short ribs I've ever had. I also had the bone marrow and a salad and it was delicious. The reason for two stars is to get the attention of the restaurant because the bathrooms were disgusting. They were coed and there was urine all over the floor in all three stalls. Our feet were sticky and we wouldn't reuse the bathrooms at the end of the night because they were so gross. Portion size was nice but It was very pricey: short ribs were $72 and salad was $29. A ribeye will cost you $68. I never had a water refill and I was very thirsty and I would've had another glass of wine but I was never asked. I hope they get their act together because it really was a delicious meal but I can't get over how dirty the bathrooms were. read more

The food was excellent, staff was attentive, and drinks were well-made. The main con I have is with the pricing. We have visited steakhouses across the country, and I've never experienced prices like this. The *absolute* cheapest entree is $40. To start, the food is just phenomenal. Small plating unfortunately but you can tell the chef puts in a lot of effort to make this menu come together. Aside for that, the restuarant is gorgeous and is more than considerable for fine dining. The reason why this review is so low is not because of the food or appearance of the restaurant but the people who run it. If you are like me dining out should be a pleasant experience NOT STRESSFUL!!! First is who I pressume to be the manager as everyone was going to him for concerns. This manager was wearing a blue suit and although appeared to be invested in the restaurant was exceedingly drunk. Next are the servers who never seem to be around when something is needed. It seems like they have people who do everything for them as they sit by and barely manage to even place the correct temperature for a steak. It is such a shame to see such a promising restaurant ruined due to its poor choice in staff selection. read more

What i hoped to be a nice meal took a quick turn. My friend and i brought an expensive bottle of wine and expected to just be charged an uncorking fee. The waiter opened the bottle and poured our glasses. After 5 minutes the managers came running up freaking out the bottle wasn't kosher so we couldn't drink it anymore. We said all good and confined to sip our glasses that were poured. But oh no that wasn't enough. Next they insisted on throwing out the glasses. I offered the chug my wine but they refused and through it away. We laughed it off and next thing you know they insist on taking the rest of the bottle outside. We were shook but laughed it off but than had to order a new bottle of wine. Food comes and it was less than mediocre to say the least. The only saving grace i hoped for was them taking the bottle we purchased off the bill. But it was certainly there. Overall extremely below average food and way overpriced. I understand what we did was wrong but it wasn't your fault. The waiter allowed it and to not compensate us has extremely detected myself from every doing business at this establishment ever again. read more
