We were going out to celebrate my older sister's birthday and it so happened to also land on Father's Day. We knew the day was going to be busy so we made reservations and we were glad we did. Upon arrival, the parking lot was pretty much full. We were able to find a parking spot. We had arrived before the rest of our family. After a short wait, everyone else arrived. We wait another 10 minutes and were then shown to our table. Wow, the restaurant was hopping. The servers and staff were all very cordial and attentive to the diners needs. Jamia, our server for our visit, greeted us with a big smile. She took our drink orders leaving us time to look over the menu. As we were looking over the menu, hot delicious bread arrived. Jamia was back in a flash with our drinks. We placed our orders. My wife ordered the fried chicken salad and I ordered the ribeye with a Caesar salad and a loaded baked potato. I requested my steak be cooked rare with a very cool center. I was worried since I rarely get a true rare steak. Yes there are times, I send them back As a former steak house manager, I watch services in the restaurant with a different viewpoint. My Caesar salad was served in a chilled bowl and the romaine was nice and crunchy. Soon our entrees started arriving. I could only imagine the "controlled chaos" that was going on in the kitchen, especially with a full House out front. Normally, at a steak house they'll ask you to cut into your steak to test for doneness. I knew right away, my steak wasn't rare. It's tough to cook rare steak that is only 1/2" thick. And yes, I should have said something when the platter was placed in front of me but I didn't. The ribeye was medium rare to medium. I just didn't have the heart to speak up knowing how busy they were. My baked potato was perfect.. For dessert, my sister had chocolate cake for her birthday and I had the margarita pie topped with a mango salsa. It was the highlight of my meal. Our server, a friendly guy from California, was incredibly attentive and genuinely welcoming, which made the experience even better. Or I am just in the right place to have one not far away from home, which I have never been to, and another a 1,000 miles away between Dallas and Forth Worth. Started with the CHEESE FRIES - Jack & cheddar cheese, bacon, sour cream, green onions, ranch dressing, and at 1,830 calories it was good it was for the table, and even that it still was surprisingly small for that count! The BOURBON GLAZED BACON - Thick cut, applewood smoked, pickled red onions, sriracha mayo was very good to share as well. My choice for the main course was MAUDEEN'S CENTER-CUT FILET - 9 oz with broccoli and I was very happy with that. Service was great and the ambiance was pretty standard for a middle of the road steakhouse. Overall, I was happy. Is it going to compete with the higher end experiences? Hi folks. Okay so today was a scorcher... 106°. How is this even real? So I hugged my house today. It kept hitting me, I need to eat, and I need to eat steak. For an everyday steak type place, my goto is between Saltgrass and Tx RH. Today, I really needed a good salad. Saltgrass has the better croutons, better salad greens. Saltgrass it is. This location is pretty easy to seat during the workweek. Got in, got a solo booth. Service is pretty swift and attentive here. I'm 60, retired half a decade so my metabolism has slowed a bit. The 12oz RE is quite a bit of protien for one sitting so I skipped breakfast, lunch, and was ready to take this hunk of beef down to the plate. The baked potatoe was done perfect as well. I eat skin and all. This one was larger than usual so I could finish it. I gave it my best shot because I hate hate hate wasting food. Wasn't enough for a diggie bag though. All in all this was a 5 star night. I had zero service or food hiccups. In fact, every aspect was above normal. Okay so my target weight to get down to is 185, and I am 3 pounds away. This definitely was not helping. Soooo delicious though. Pro tip: the Carrot Cake. Jeezuss. The most decadently crafted slice of heaven ever to hit a plate. I got a slice last trip. Big enough for 4 people. I looked at it on the menu, closed it, stayed true to my health goals. But when I hit 185lbs...... It's on like donkey kong. I plan on celebrating with a slice. Super attentive but not suffocating, very genuine and cheery, lovely person. In the years I've been coming to this location, I've never had a wrong order or overcooked steak, perfectly medium rare every time. The sides are always great, crispy fries, soft baked potato, everything perfect. Even when all the tables are full and the noise picks up, it's easy to converse with your table, it's never too loud. I will say the distance from the handicap area to the door is rough if you're recovering from an accident, but I put my big girl pants on and made it inside just fine. My visit tonight was a horrible experience. I came in right at 6 o'clock and attempted to order prime rib and was informed 15 minutes later that the prime was sold out. I offered a second selection and from the time of 6:15 until 6:40pm, My food never arrived my server, neither returned to the table to refill any drinks nor did she check to make certain that we were OK. Being a Landry Selects member for a number of years , I have had the opportunity to visit several Saltgrass location - Bedford , Grapevine & Irving location. The Bedford location happens to be the closet to my home ; where the other 2 are more closer to my work office. Having said that , I would like to say the Bedford location has the worst customer service I have ever experienced with this chain and others. I went there today 05/16/26 around 4:45. I was first approached by the hostess and ask if I would like to sit at the bar or within the bar location. I asked if I would have a server and was told yes. I took a seat in the first booth and was there for about 8 minutes and was never approached or greeted by a server or anyone. I watched as several servers looked in my direction and never approached me. At that point , I got up to leave and on my way out ; saw what appeared to be a manager. I explained my situation and he appeared not to really care about the poor service. This is the second time for me that the service was very poor at this location although the food was good. Needless to say and unfortunately, I will not visit this location again. I can honestly say the other two locations have always provided excellent service and food. read more
