Food wasn't bad but service was terrible! Server Audrey had a personality of a rock! Took our order and never came back except for when I had to stop her because my meal was wrong and to mention we never got our salad and soup that was to be served before our meal. We didn't expect a free meal maybe a discount for no salad and soup but not even an "I am sorry". She never came back to see if we would like refills on our drinks. How in the world is this place getting five star reviews?? Blows my mind. Maybe I shouldn't write a review off my first visit combined with the giant fireworks show happening tonight...but I'm going to. There is clearly a reason why the restaurant across the street had a 2 hour wait and Saltgrass was 30 minutes. Those people all knew something we didn't. This was like eating dinner in a middle school gym. Plates and trays were dropped FOUR times during my visit--one time we got lucky enough to have a dirty plate of fries dumped right on our feet. The floor was covered in food and napkins, and the bathroom trash was overflowing. The bartenders were apparently trying to be cute and toss things to each other. Too bad neither of them could catch. It was just a loud, disorganized circus. Finished the bread and salad before my food came, which never happens. That means the food took way too long to come out...funny, considering I had cold steak medallions and a 400 degree sweet potato. Plus, the plate looked absolutely nothing like the picture on the menu. I ordered a dish with no price listed based on that picture..and it was beyond disappointing. The butter was slapped on the side of the potato, and the chimichurri was not in a cute jar like the menu promised-it was scooped on the plate in a definitely non cute way. I really wished I had waited the two hours across the street...I KNOW their food is good and we would have not been treated like this: Our server told us we were welcome to go to the patio and watch the fireworks--mind you, the restaurant was closed and there was plenty of space outside. We were not out there two minutes when some little employee asked if we had a reservation and sent us back inside even though we said our server sent us outside. I'm sorry, but I am a paying customer...who is standing quietly against the wall. I am not herding lots of kids or getting in anyone's way...and I got poo-poo'd by some teenager. So we stood on the wet sticky floor next to the drippy, leaking margarita machine and looked out the window. FYI, don't order a margarita. Actually, don't make an hour drive for a birthday dinner like we did. It was beyond a waste of time. For a $90 meal, the atmosphere sucks and the food is reminiscent of Applebee's. Had our meal here on Friday afternoon. We ordered the 6oz sirloin ordered medium well it was cooked so much that I had chard side. My husband ordered the same thing his was so dry. I ask if I could get a bake potato instead of mashed potatoes or French Fries yes but it will cost you 2.29 extra. Potatoes are still Potatoes no matter how they are cooked or prepared. So I opted for green beans that had been cooked for a while. No taste. My husband got French fries that were limp. Salad looked like they had been setting for a while. To most this would be a cheap meal at 40 dollars that's included tip but not to us. Also the bathroom were Terrible! I read some of the reviews and thought not the best rating ever but we liked the menu. What a huge mistake! We decided to have dinner at the bar. It seems the bartender was having a social with another employee for 5-7 minutes before he ever acknowledged our presence. We were both pretty warm from walking the boardwalk so we both ordered water which came with in a few minutes. After we made our choices and laid our menus down, we noticed our bartender having a grand time with a group of people at the other end of the bar. The restaurant was on an hour wait so we grabbed 2 seats at the bar to eat. The two bartenders were very nice and informative. They took pride in their job and the area. Husband ordered a New York Strip & I got Shrimp. Everything was very good. Steak cooked to a perfect Medium and the Shrimp was cooked well and very well seasoned. Salads were fresh and good. We ate here on a lovely Friday evening. It wasn't too busy and we were able to sit outside. The food was delicious and the steaks were cooked correctly but they were warm and not hot. I also noticed that other tables were served bread and butter along with milled pepper for there salad as ours was not. I believe this was because our waitress was giving all of her attention to a table of 4 next to ours. Chatting it up and schmoozing all she could. I can care less what she does with other tables to earn her tips but I do expect the same basic services at my table and I tip well for it. Great steakhouse. I would choose this over most other chain steakhouses. Stems were all done as ordered even my mom who orders it well done without pink and they even butterflied her filet to ensure it was cooked thru. My medium rare was way better. Overall great experience just nothing super special to put it over the edge for me. I pride myself in different steak seasoning and sous vide cook steaks myself and this was a good generic steak. I haven't been to Saltgrass in years and was looking forward to such a good meal! I was surprised that the restaurant was so slow! No problems getting a table. Our appetizer came out right away. I got my salad, but could not eat it because it had tomatoes even tho I asked for no tomatoes. Unfortunately it took an hour to get our food, and my steak had no seasoning and was not cooked well. I was out for the day in Branson with a friend. And decided we wanted some steaks. So we google places to in our area and Saltgrass popped up . To be completely honest I had zero expectations not knowing anything about the restaurant. To say we were pleasantly surprised is an understatement. Both of us chose the ribeye . I ordered mine med rare and it was cooked to perfection . And I thought we'll priced for the quality. But the real shining start was our server Derek . Not only was he super friendly, personable and very patient with us . But he took extra time to walk up threw the menu. Telling me his favorite options and helping me make the best choice for me . Honestly I never do yelp reviews as I'm a restaurant worker myself and not easily impressed. My advice for you . Come for the steaks and stay late for Derek. He's a real gem ! read more

Not impressed. They are clearly understaffed. But when you are training a host/hostess, argue with him in the back. Rather than the line of customers waiting. Our wait staff was not very friendly. Giving her a break because they are understaffed and maybe she had a rough day. Then why do you have an online menu for the specific location that does not match the menu in the restaurant? Sorry to say this was the worst F&B experience I have ever had. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but tonight was a disaster. Our waiter said he was new and we were willing to be patient, but he disappeared for almost 30 minutes. Our appetizer took almost an hour to arrive, but only after we asked the Manager. Really enjoyed our visit to saltgrass steakhouse. The food was delicious and the service even better would definitely recommend.

Do not go here unless you want to sit for 20 minutes and get NO service. My wife and I, visiting Branson, shopped for hours at Branson Landing. We stopped in to enjoy a happy hour and never even got noticed at all. There were 2 of us and 2 full shopping bags at the bar table. There was no way to not see us. The waitress helped 2 other couples near us, totally ignoring us. We got up to leave. She was standing near the door and we asked why she totally ignored us. She said "did you check in with the host desk?", as if it was our fault. "This is the bar", we reminded her, "neither you or the bartender even acknowledged our existence". We'll never go back. Probably the worst service we have had our whole trip. They won't give you the drink deals unless you are on the patio or in he bar area and they didn't have enough servers to even serve the whole bar area. Everyone who drank their house margaritas (we had frozen and on the rocks) got sick. And it wasn't from the amount of consumption because the most we had we're 2. The steaks were over cooked and they tried over charging us on our bill. Will definitely never be going to another Saltgrass, let alone this one. read more

Joe and I are celebrating our 53rd anniversary in Branson. We finally decided on Salt Grass because they are consistent and dependable. We knew we would not be disappointed! Our waitress Audrey was wonderful, onion strings were so good and our wine and drink were perfect. Then came our entrees- Joe had steak, medium rare, and shrimp with a loaded baked potato. Joe steak was raw and cold. The shrimp were hot and delicious. The potato was barely lukewarm. I had medium rare filet and and a loaded baked potato. There was butter on my steak and it never melted because it was so cold. My potato was cold also. So much disappointment. The acting manager did not care. Said no problem with food but ours. Well, the table behind us sent two plates back. The manager comped our perfect appetizer. She had No concern about trashing our anniversary dinner. We will cook out steaks tomorrow night. No chance they will be over cooked. I am a member of the Landry select club and tried on their site to post this privately. But the site was not user friendly for me. We got there on Christmas 30 minutes before they closing. The staff was excellent and the food was superb. We ordered filet mignon, which were extremely tender and well seasoned. This restaurant was so disappointing. My husband and I were in Branson for our anniversary and choose this restaurant for dinner. We had to ask for silverware. Not that big a deal except the waiter didn't even realize we had nothing to eat with when he served our salads. The waiter also messed up our salads. My husbands had the wrong dressing. Mine had no cheese. The waiter told me he forgot the cheese but made no effort to correct it. I ordered a filet and Mac n cheese. They were out of Mac n cheese. When our food finally came my steak was overdone and all my food was lukewarm. My husband's food was lukewarm as well. The manager came and offered a half-hearted apology. First impression walking in- classy. We chose to sit outside on the patio by the river so we could watch the boats go by. The delivery was super slow and when we left, we'd had a total of 3 servers and had to walk up to the bar for our check and then again to pay. Hello!
