The team work my husband and I witnessed tonight was unbelievably remarkable, everyone worked together and helped each other out. A below average restaurant experience; but if you want to eat steak, quickly for cheap, then this is the go to place in town. I ordered the porterhouse (its really a regular size thin T-Bone), the steak itself was very average, salad and sides as well. The staff is very friendly and attentive, but do make it obvious they don't want you to eat and stay, they are turning tables as quickly as possible. If you want a quick steak bite for lunch is a good place, but steak dinner (to enjoy a nice piece of meat) there are better places for more money but not that much more. read more

Like a hand job from a cousin, it was ok and got the job done, but not something you really go out of your way for. It had been a while since I had a steak so I braved the lukewarm water and went for it. It was just meat not great but bad either. Potato was bland but it was a Fucking potato so figure that out for yourself. But seriously anything owned by that little restaurant destroyer Tillman fertitta generally sucks a rotten cock so maybe we should rejoice in mediocre and edible. We always come here for our rep meetings and it's actually a perfect place to have it at since they have many different tables everywhere. We were seated right away in the back area. I noticed another group of people were having a meeting also. Our server was super attentive and gave us some good recommendation for our food choices. Of course they brought out their mouth watering bread and butter. Started with the avocado crab stack and fried zucchini which I both highly recommend. The crab stack was super good and fresh tasting, the crabmeat didn't taste fishy at all nor look like imitation crabmeat, they serve it with thin tortilla chips. The zucchini had a zest of lemon and the sauce on the side was awesome. I got the NY strip medium well, I could have done medium rare since I like my steak juicy. I did order the prime ribeye on my previous visit which was very juicy and so good. The steak this visit was okay but maybe because I was so full from the appetizer and their amazing wedge salad. I would highly recommend you spend the extra $2.49 for their wedge salad. Pretty much it's half a wedge of a whole lettuce head which right there is a lot of salad already. I don't know what they put on top of it but all I know it's soooo good! I never go without it. It has crumbled bacon, ranch (probably), blue cheese crumbles and balsamic drizzled on top. For my side I got the seasonal veggies, which they don't use steamed veggies they actually cook fresh veggies so it's crunchy not soggy. It's seasoned very well. For dessert I ordered the bread pudding and carrot cake for our table. Wow the bread pudding was amazing, the concept at SG is different than other places because they use tres leches on top of it. It's actually better tasting than the babins one next day. They drizzle salted caramel on the bottom and soaked in that tres leches sauce together is perfection. The carrot cake was amazing too it was so moist and the cream cheese icing tasted like cheese cake. I liked the cake because it had more walnuts than raisins. They also have a great lunch menu with all different varieties of foods from sandwiches to steak and shrimp. If you're not a meat eater they also have seafood options but really this is a meat head house lol. read more

Wife and I ate at Saltgrass in Katy a few days ago and I wanted to take a minute to say how great everything was. My steak was perfectly charred and med rare. My wife got the Sirloin and Shrimp and it was amazing. It was also huge so she took some home which my daughter enjoyed at work the next day. You made 3 people happy. My family visited Saltgrass Steak House for the first time last week. We thought that arriving before 6:00 pm would equal an empty dining room and parking lot. Boy were we wrong. Saltgrass offers a great early dining menu and we seem to be the only ones not to know! Our waiter was very friendly and professional and did not rush us when we asked for more time to review the menu. All of our meals came out as ordered with the exception of my steak which was a bit overdone. Our waiter promptly addressed the issue and the manager was kind enough to check in with us while we waited for my new steak to come out. I really appreciated the customer service here. I felt the need to write an update, my first time here was not a good experience but gave another try nd got the prime rib and it was hands down the BEST I have ever tasted! We also had better wait staff and overall it deserves 5 stars. But word to the wise... Better get there early if you want prime rib, the run out quickly...which was very frustrating. read more

I don't know why people rave or hate this place. It was fairly good. The steaks were quality meat, cooked correctly. The sides were fine, and they had good service. I ordered steak and shrimp, and the shrimp tasted as though they were frozen, not fresh. My biggest complaint was it was too expensive. $110 for two entrees, an appetizer, a margarita, and tip was a bit much for what we received. I've paid less for better. I'm glad I tried out Saltgrass, but will be trying other steak houses before I return. read more

No wait time to sit down. Who was our waiter that never showed up until 10 minutes after the fact. A bunch of waiters/waitress around the register talking. Finally someone came to take care of us. We ordered drinks and an appetizer for a table of 4. Only one person got their drink first not sure how does only 1 person get their drink and not the whole table at once. Once they did bring the drinks to the table they brought one wrong drink. The waiter asked us to try the drink and went put in the correct one. The manager brought in the correct drink but was taking the wrong drink off the table after the waiter said that we could try it. The manager strongly said well it's going to be added to the bill. Appetizer came out as soon as the food started to come out. Management has bad customer service and treating his customers horrible. Our waiter was very sincere and apologized about his managers reaction and comments. Another manager also came to apologize. Food portion.... ribs with the crown maple is juicy and pulling right off the bone, fried mushrooms are awesome especially with the touch of Parmesan, grilled chicken is straight black pepper needs more than just that for seasoning, mashed potatoes are bland with the no seasoning, the grilled shrimp was good just should be a little bit bigger for the price, fried shrimp is bland with the no seasoning. My overall review for this establishment is get better management that wants to serve customers with respect and food is good just needs better seasoning. read more

For a nice steak dinner with good service and value, Saltgrass is top on my list. We usually go to Saltgrass once a month, where my wife and I order Ribeye. The steaks are always juicy and the butter they put on top of the steaks adds extra flavor (and cholesterol :). The quality of steaks is just a notch below the Prime cuts you get at high end steakhouses but with Certified Angus beef, you really won't notice the difference between a $25 steak and $75 one I get at Morton's, Ruth Chris's, etc. The only issue was the new Crème Brulee which the crème was hard and not creamy as it should have been. The manager promptly removed that from our bill. Great service and one of our favorites. read more

I've been to quite a few saltgrass locations. This one was not very good. Service was horrible and orders weren't done correctly. We all had steaks. All medium rare. My steak and only my steak was burnt on one side. Took 15 minutes to get someone to take a drink order after we sat down and another 15 minutes to get the drinks. I took my wife out for dinner yesterday. She ordered the prime rib. This cut is supposed to be delicious and slow cook for almost 10 hours. When we got it on the table the meat seem like it had been boiled in water to cook it, Instead of grilled or smoked. Didn't expect a really good steak (Perry's, Vs, several other places) but didn't feel like cooking our steaks tonight. The margaritas were almost entirely mix and half shots of alcohol. The meat was poor quality and not prepared well as were the sides. The steaks were cooked at least two measurements below order, the shrimp over cooked to a rubber-like texture then allowed to cool. The best thing on the table was the small cheese pizza our daughter ate No doubt prepared elsewhere, frozen, and reheated by a fry cook. Two tables near us returned top shelf margarita drinks as well. A second glass of wine ordered as the main course was delivered was brought to our table after we finished what we could of dinner. I'm a big fan of Saltgrass. I love Maudeen's Center Cut Filet.

While the food was good the service we received was less than what we expected. Our grandson spilled a full tall glass of water on his mom. Three servers walked right by our daughter while she was attempting to clean up and offered her no help. Prior to that we asked our server for chocolate milk and it took twenty minutes to get The milk. My daughters Cesar salad had four lettuce stems in it, she left them on her plate & when the server cleared the table she never asked about it. Once our food arrived, not one employee came to ask how our food was. I had the 9 oz prime rib done medium & it was very good. We were never asked if we wanted refills on our drinks as well.:-( While our three year grandson was given a kids menu & crayons when we were seated, Saltgrass does not seem to be very "kid friendly". We dined at Toms oyster bar the previous week. While that restaurant did not have a kids menu, our three year old grandson got better service than at Saltgrass. Our daughter was previously a server at The Taste of Texas. When she receives good service at a restaurant I've seen her leave a 25-30% tip. She left our server 12%. For this server she picked the wrong table to mess up on. read more
