Came to Saltgrass for a dinner with the family and this was the burger they served my 3 year old. Luckily i decided to cut it up instead of just letting him bite into it because NONE of the inside is cooked!!!!!! I ordered the Salmon Oscar, there was no lemon butter sauce so the dish was very lackluster. The asparagus was so hard it was inedible. It has been a long time since I've been to this restaurant and definitely won't be back. The food lacks flavor and seems to just be thrown together. Our server also seemed to lack a food handlers license. He kept putting his non gloved hands all over our plates and over our condiments. It seems this chain is going downhill. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE. We ordered steaks from this location. We ordered them medium well. They used DoorDash to deliver them. We received them med-rare. Called and spoke to the manager, Juan, who said they could remake the order but could not refund my money because I used DoorDash. First, you're a steakhouse that can't cook steak. Why would I think a second chance would be any better? Second, I didn't choose DoorDash, your restaurant did. So, I reached out to DoorDash who tells me because of their policy they can't refund nor give me credit for my order. Say what? So, I'm suppose to eat $80 for a meal I can't eat? I called Jose at Saltgrass back to tell him my situation and he doesn't care. "There's nothing we can do since the order came through DoorDash." So, because your damn website doesn't ever work for delivery orders, you force people to use the shitty services of DoorDash so you can hide behind terrible customer service and employees that either can't read plain English, can't cook, or both. I even asked Jose if he'd remake the order and have it delivered to me and he said he couldn't do that either. I even told him that I am handicap and can not come pick up so what does he suggest? Awful, don't bother. Second time here, and we won't waste our time and money again. First time here we waited 30 minutes for silverware! they kept coming to the table apologizing, no clean silverware in the entire restaurant. Tonight it took 30 minutes to get a glass of wine and beer. No exaggeration, 30 minutes, then the over dressed watery salad arrived. The steak and baked potato arrived more than 30 minutes later again, potato barely warm and underdone. Also no plates were ever removed, appetizer plates, shrimp cocktail glass, two salad plates. literally no room for the main dish plates when they arrived and I was asked to pick up dirty plates and hold them so dinner plates could be placed. My medium steak was so rare it was cool and purple. It was sent back to be refired and returned gray and covered in soot. No thank you. We went to the Salt Grass in Mansfield on a Tuesday evening and sat at the bar. The restaurant was super busy for a Tuesday night. Our bartender, Shelley, was absolutely amazing. They usually have two bartenders, and she ended up being the only one. That said, her service was exceptional, and we witnessed the best teamwork I've ever seen in a restaurant. Several of her peers jumped in to help her out, and they all had the best attitudes! Love to see this! We only ate the range rattlers and a side salad tonight, but both were exceptional. I had the delicious blackened redfish. I was a bit concerned to order fish at a steakhouse but it didn't disappoint. The side salad with blue cheese dressing was flavorful. Salads some with cheese and croutons. The fried onions look thin like the ones you find on green been casseroles but are much tastier. Some in our party had the filet mignon, which was tender and perfectly prepared. The interior is casual with wooden tables. We visited on Sunday after church, it had not begun to get crowded yet however we had a short wait while our table was being prepared, the hostess was cheerful and accommodating, once seated our waiter arrived to take our drink order the young man was friendly and polite and patient above his age (seeing he was serving a large group) I really enjoyed the decor and atmosphere western style with cowboy pictures, wagon wheels and skulls of cattle on the wall... too cool. I had a perfectly cooked ribeye stake and loaded bake potato, prior to that we share some appetizers which were really good also. For chain steakhouses, this place is as ok as any of them. We got here early and sat at the bar to kill time before a movie. The bartender was fairly friendly. I didn't expect a filet for God's sake but damn I left at least 6 pieces of what was supposed to be tenderloin tips in the bowl because they were not edible. This restaurant is beautiful on the outside and looked inviting so we went in for dinner. We were seated in a quiet room with a beautiful fireplace. The room quickly filled up, yet the service was top notch for a casual restaurant. This is definitely upscale casual but come as you are. My dinner was a steak kbob and my companion had sirloin topped with shrimp and a butter sauce that told was perfect. One of us eats rare and one of us eats "no pink" and we were both pleased with what was presented. I had a chicken and shrimp appetizer that was to die for, shrimp and chicken wrapped in bacon sat atop onion strings.
