7/8/26 11:30 am. Saltgrass Steak House is a professional restaurant. This is a scratch kitchen. They even make their own sauces and gravies. Everything comes to the table hot or cold as intended. The condiments also come to the table hot or cold in containers. For lunch, I had a huge country fried steak and fried shrimp. Both were very good with just a touch of spice. The baked potato was perfect. I also had a salad and potato soup. The potato soup was very different but good. The service was excellent. Clint was our waiter and the manager, Daum, also stopped by the table to make sure everything was as it was suppose to be. My wife and I appreciated the extra service because this was our first time in this establishment. However, if I am having a business lunch or dinner, I appreciate the "no interruption" service. Meaning... after the waiter takes the order and brings it to the table, he or she does not speak again. The waiter walks by to see if more water or coffee is needed. Refills if necessary without speaking. If no one at the table does not make eye contact with the waiter, they walk away without interrupting the conversation at the table. The decor and music is what you would expect from a quality restaurant. At a level that is pleasant. You will not be ashamed to take a date or out-of-town guests to Saltgrass. That is not a given in many restaurants today. read more

Unfortunately, we didn't stay! Nothing against the restaurant, we weren't thrilled by the price point. Sadly, we should've stayed because the place we ended up wasn't far off. Only note I would mention: when customers arrive, please make sure SOMEONE speaks to them. We stood at the door for a few minutes before someone spoke to us. Once the host was finished talking to a customer, they did apologize. I was disappointed to see how close they were to us without at least acknowledging we were there. We were seated at a table, that was cleaned off but not wiped down. Before sitting, I noticed crumbs I still had to remove from the booth. We ordered waters, but chose not to stay once we glanced at the menu. We didn't see the comfort foods we were looking for at a decent price. Again, the place we ended up turned out to be similar but something about the previous encounters (and the fact that we were seated and served drinks with enough time to change our mind and no one had come by to check on us) gave us pause to patronize the place. Saltgrass steakhouse had a nice lunch specials with your choice of one side; french fries, mashed potatoes, fried green bean and asparagus. Our waiter neglected to tell us there's a up charge for the asparagus, which would've been fine if it was cooked right as asparagus was old and limp. Chicken fried steak with fried and iced golden brown, but the meat was very bland no flavor. Chicken fried chicken was also fried a nice golden brown, but it had a souring taste the beef tips & mushrooms, (3 small beef tips) served in a gravy on top of mashed potatoes. Came on a Thursday night close to 7pm. It wasn't busy at all,seated quickly . Started off with the fried mozzarella they were super cheesy love it . Got the Pats ribeye with Oscar topping , Caesar salad and mashed potatoes . The steak flavor was there and the salad was super good for a Caesar ,the mashed potatoes were a bit salty . Our waiter Toby was very good as well great service. There was a minor mishap of them charging an extra $15 on the bank statements the next day seems there was a mix up on the correct receipt, we did speak to the manager that advised it'll take about 7 business days. Saltgrass Steak House -- Birthday Lunch Done Right My wife's birthday was actually March 11th, but we didn't get the chance to celebrate until today -- Friday the 13th. Turns out... it was her lucky day. First of all, she's married to me -- and what a gift that is. And second, she chose Saltgrass Steak House for lunch. Add in a beautiful Oklahoma afternoon -- sunshine, warm temperatures, and just enough breeze to make it a perfect day to get out -- and we were off to celebrate. The Experience From the moment we walked in, the experience was excellent. Connor was our waiter and delivered friendly, attentive service throughout the entire meal. The kind of service where you never feel rushed but your glass is never empty. The restaurant has that classic Texas steakhouse feel -- rustic wood, western décor, and a great wine display right at the entrance. The Meal We both ordered the Signature Steak & Grilled Shrimp lunch special. My plate: * Signature steak * Grilled shrimp * Sweet potato My wife's plate: * Signature steak * Grilled shrimp * Baked potato The shrimp were excellent -- nicely seasoned with just the right char from the grill. My wife's steak was terrific. Mine was a little on the chewy side, but when the manager stopped by to check on our meal I chose the honest route and mentioned it. The Management Touch This is where Saltgrass really impressed me. Manager Dauminque didn't just check the box and move on -- he stayed and had a genuine conversation with us. We talked about menu favorites, the best steaks on the menu, and of course... Dessert. During our conversation we mentioned a previous visit where we had an outstanding waiter named Dakota. As luck would have it, Dakota was working that day and stopped by the table to say hello. Those kinds of personal touches matter. The Surprise Ending As we were wrapping up our meal, Dauminque surprised us by comping a slice of carrot cake for my wife's birthday. Now here's the funny part... I told him I'm currently on a personal mission to find the best carrot cake in the OKC metro. He confidently told me theirs was very good. He didn't lie. This was a fantastic slice of carrot cake -- moist, rich, loaded with texture, and topped with a generous layer of cream cheese frosting. It's officially near the top of my carrot cake leaderboard. Final Thoughts Great service Great management Great atmosphere Very good food That combination makes for a memorable dining experience. And for a Friday the 13th birthday celebration... My wife wanted to go to her favorite restaurant, Saltgrass. We went, gthot seated and our drinks. Others came in 15 minutes later and had the complimentary bread before we ever got the same. I flagged a manager who managed to bring the bread. another 15-20 minutes later we got our food. It was mostly ok, but my wife had ordered medium well done steak, but got dried shoe leather. Apparently our wait staff was more concerned about a larger group because we only got service when we asked for it. I'm sure it will be quite some time before my wife chooses that location again! I arrived on an early afternoon on Sunday and there wasn't that many people there. It took about 10 minutes to get someone from the bar to even talk to me. Once that happened I ordered a beer and looked over the menu I was asked if I wanted anything and i ordered some mozzarella cheese chunks and kept deciding. I had made a phone call and the mozzarella cheese was delivered and the guy whose brought them made it a point to tell me they were real mozzarella! As opposed to fake mozzarella!?!? The marinara sauce was watered down. So I ordered a New York strip medium with veggies. I got a NYS medium rare. I questioned this and all they did was put it back on the grill and ask me to cut it to make sure it was cooked right. This was completely unacceptable, I will not go here again. At around 2:30 - Nobody at the front station until I went to the kitchen after at least 5 minutes & let them know customers (not just me) were waiting; the guy who went up front gave me a look that could have cut through me; SO SORRY he had to do his job! We went with family and the only thing that wasn't impressive was the fried cheese (mozzarella sticks) because they were really thick and more of a square shape, hard to eat according to those who ordered them.
