Being a native of Seattle we've been to Salty's dozens of times. Everything from the Darren Motamedy Jazz Jam days that I really miss to New Year's Eve celebrations to birthdays, weddings, the AYCE Sunday buffets and more. We also will take out of town guests here for the view as it is really hard to beat. I've even booked the venue downstairs for continuing education meetings that my company would sponsor so very well familiar with Saltys. Today we felt like spoiling ourselves a bit and enjoyed a beautiful day at Saltys. The food and drink are always solid. The cod was a little dry today - at first we thought it was halibut. Must have been frozen. Yes - there's a premium for the setting and overall attentive service and today was no exception so it's a bit of a splurge but hey - YOLO, right? :) Stopped in for a beer and a prosecco for the better half and some fish n chips over lunch. Solid. Honestly the only thing that annoyed me was the 4% surcharge on top of the bill. If you're going to charge $27 for a two piece fish-n-chips just change the price to $28 and skip the surcharge for goodness sake. First time going to Salty's brunch since before COVID, and it was very hit and miss. We were lucky enough to get a table with a beautiful view of water, and our server (who's been there forever but I forgot her name) was fantastic as always. I feel like the buffet has a few less items than before, but the items they do have are tasty and will satisfy any mood. Here were the misses: - I ordered an omelette at the station, the guy says come back in seven minutes. When I came back there was a whole bunch of people standing in front of a whole bunch of omelettes. I asked which is mine, he just blindly grabs one and gives it to me. When I get back to the table it is definitely not mine because it was loaded with shrimp which I did not ask for. - All you can eat Dungeness crab legs, but they don't salt their water so all the flavor leeches out and every leg was bland and tasteless. So disappointing to ruin crab legs like that. - Great selection of desserts but please have someone to police the chocolate fountain so kids (and some adults) don't stick their fingers in the chocolate. Such a cool dinner spot that overlooks the Seattle skyline. The restaurant itself gives an upscale classic seafood diner vibe. The service was prompt and friendly. And the food was delicious. For started we shared a seafood chowder which was buttery and full of seafood. Then for dinner I had the scallops which were cooked perfectly and paired with a delicious and meaty pork fried rice. Sunday Brunch Buffet! I finally got to try the famous Salty's Sunday Brunch. (Reminder to make a reservation) Food (4/5) - $99/per person! (coffee, tea & sodas included) There was alot of variety! I loved the variety and there were definitely some really good dishes but personally for me it was not the seafood that i enjoyed that much, it was the other food stations that made up for it. I like the pasta and omelette bar (made to order), their dessert selection + fondue definitely makes up for it. Salty's on Alki is simply AMAZING!!! We checked in for our reservation and were promptly seated a few minutes later. The view was awesome, 80 degrees outside, blue skies. And then the buffet. Sunday brunch is a buffet, drinks are extra. Where to begin.... I walked around to see what are my choices, then I headed to the oysters. Juicy and plump, they are from Jack Bailey's farm and especially and only for Salty's restaurant, I was told. Then prime rib. Nice medium rare and tender. There were crab on the buffet too, my daughter's favorite. Pasta station, cooked to order, with fillings like lobster, crab, baby shrimp, mushrooms, tomatoes, etc.... So many choices. A waffle station. A hot food station but I didn't go there, eggs, bacon, sausages, potatoes,etc... a salads station and a desserts station with fresh fruits and a chocolate fountain... enough to satisfy any appetite and cravings. Our server John was excellent: on point, knowledgeable, offered to take our pictures...Juan promptly cleared the plates . There was a Photo Booth downstairs too so you get souvenirs photos printed right away for take home. And a deck outside to take pictures of the Seattle landscape. for $60 I might've expected that my entrée would have *some* flavor, but I had to add a great deal of table salt to taste anything at all. Service excellent, it's just clear management doesn't care. $500 bill and the food was a 4 out of 10. First, I want to give a shout-out to our waiter, Dane. If not for Dane, our entire experience would have been much worse. Pros: Clam chowder Oysters The view Dane's excellent service ******CONS CONS CONS***** The $175 crab leg dinner came with mushy mashed potatoes and green beans. My scallops were the size of a quarter and so salty I couldn't even finish one. The seafood trio appetizer was soggy. *******************************The biggest issue, however, was what happened during dinner. An elderly woman at the table next to us had an accident and unfortunately SOILED herself. While we understand that wasn't Salty's fault, the way management handled the situation was unacceptable. ******Two managers looked over the railing to make sure nobody was below, then proceeded to SPLASH AND dump two buckets of water just a few feet from our table while we were eating. There was water splashing everywhere, and given the nature of the incident, it was extremely unpleasant and inappropriate to handle it that way so close to guests. Dane apologized and was very professional throughout the situation, but management never approached our table, never offered to move us, never offered a dessert or any gesture of goodwill, and never acknowledged the disruption. This is a Health hazard, you can't hurdle buckets of water at a pile 3 feet feet guests eating, without removing everyone dining near and using gloves and the proper chemicals for this type of situation. No gloves, no masks, just 2 mangers with a bucket. For a $500 meal, we expected far better food and far better management. Great experience here! I went here during lunch on valentines. I definitely recommend coming here for an occasion because the view was amazing! Large windows and it oversees Seattle! There's plenty of seating inside and it's well organized and decorated. The service was very good! We had a very nice, helpful, and funny server. The food didn't take long to make at all. The prices aren't as terrible as I thought it was going to be. I had their Chili Garlic Prawns and it was SO good. Portioning is very good too! The shrimp was cooked nicely and the sauces on the avocado toast was very tasty. I also had their calamari which I enjoyed a lot! There is a reason this place is considered iconic!!! It IS!!! I made a reservation online for Sunday for the buffet! It was more than I ever thought it could be!! The photos were only a few of the 8 plates we had!!! There were so many choices, I got over stimulated at first! But prime rib, oysters, smoked salmon, king crab legs, puyallup scones, mini waffles, made to order omelets!!! WOW!!! What did I just walk into!? A feast in paradise! OMG... this was one of my family's very best Thanksgiving dinners ever! WOWWWWWW. I am not joking, exaggerating... or trying to be nice. It blew my socks off! HAHA I didn't want to go to a restaurant, but because I was making a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for my husband's family on Friday - I decided it was the best way for me to enjoy my family. I was seduced by the "no dishes to wash" concept. Side note (I later learned there were 10 dishwashers in the back that day at Saltys! Bless those people!) It was packed with a line out the door. When we left we asked if we could make a reservation for next year -- they said, "Not yet, but soon." They do sell out. They must make the entire year's income on this one day. The food- WOW, I don't have enough words. PHENOMINAL! Just incredible. The prime rib was PERFECTION! The fresh crab legs were melt in your mouth delish! I ate more oysters than my fair share. The stuffing was yum. Potatoes were important to me and of course fantastic. The desserts -- sell just see my video below. I loved the view and Emily our waitress was beyond kind. I loved her infectious happiness factor. She made our day extra sweet, taking pictures and just fussing over us. We sent a drink over to a lonely man eating by himself -- which seemed to light him up! It was sweet moments all around. We went for seconds and thirds and had a blast. The view was gorgeous. Well I really wanted to give this place a 5 star, the only problem was service was a bit lacking. We were living our best greys anatomy life and taking the ferry around the bay and had lunch reservations at this place. We had pretty good seating in the rear or the restaurant with giant bay windows looking over the sound and Seattle. Spectacular views. Like I said the decor is a bit dated, but you're paying for the view 100%. It was lunchtime so we had the lunch menu. We started out with cocktails, wine and a dozen fresh oysters. The were absolutely delicious, like damn, I'll take another dozen good lol. Our waiter seemed to be a bit overwhelmed and took awhile for our drinks to come out; no biggie. The restaurant maybe had 10 tables sat at this time, so gave a bit of grace. He seemed rushed everytime we came to the table and once our cocktails and wine were dropped off after the oysters arrived we had to ask him if we could put our mains in before he rushed off. I ordered the seafood chowder- it did not disappoint. Full of bay scallops, shrimp and crabmeat, was absolutely delicious. Player 2 ordered the cioppino , i was barely able to take a picture before it was devoured. Absolutely taste bud tantalizing. The dessert menu was meh, crème brulle for me and raspberry sorbet for him. Nothing to write home about. For a cute date night or a great view of the city, this is a good spot to stop. The view is spectacular, the ambiance great but our service experience wasn't the best, drinks came very late, no silverware until we asked and took also long time, same with extra plates. The vodka martinis were a bit flat but the steak and the coconut shrimp super tasty! We also arde red the scallops, the dish looked beautiful but the flavor just flat... and is a bit of a disappointment as the prices are a bit elevated. Came here to try their famous AYCE brunch. The hostess, and all the people serving were great. The ambiance was so airy and light with all the windows and the view was amazing! My favorite foods were the dungie crab, shrimp, clams, and desserts were sooo good! I would pass on the oysters personally. They just didn't sit well with me as far as taste and freshness. I also kept finding shells from shucking it as i ate it. The server I had was okay, but when I sat down, he kept asking if I wanted a drink. I told him I did, but I need time to think about it. This was our first time at Salty's as we were visiting from Minnesota. We rode by on our bikes and decided to come back for dinner since it looked like a nice fine dining spot. When we arrived, we asked to sit by the window to see Elliott Bay, but the host said "not really" and didn't offer to let us wait for the seating we desired. We were first seated next to a big group, which made it hard to enjoy the view, but after asking again, we were moved to another table. Thankfully, our server Nash saved the night. He noticed our frustration right away, replaced a dirty napkin without hesitation, and gave excellent menu recommendations. His professionalism and thoughfulness really helped to turn things around. The food was excellent--our Alki Trio appetizer, Herb-Marinated Swordfish, and Bulgogi Roasted Chicken were all spot-on. The decor is wonderful, with hanging fish, soft lighting, and candles that set a great mood. If this review were just about the food and Nash's service, it would easily be 5 stars. But first impressions matter, and the host team needs to match the level of the kitchen and servers or they will lose customers. read more

Went here for Mother's Day brunch and then again two months later with a friend in from out of town. I had not been in probably two decades. I was so pleasantly surprised. Today we decided to switch things up and do lunch at a spot with a great view of downtown Seattle, Salty's on Alki. We were fortunate to get a table with an incredible view of the city. It had been awhile since we lasted visited Salty's. The front of the house sat us quickly and our server Marise was welcoming and attentive. We began lunch with a couple drinks and a few appetizers. We chose the TKO Potatoes which are crispy fried smashed fingerlings, accompanied by a togarashi spice and miso white BBQ sauce. The potatoes were really good and so was the BBQ sauce. I'd say they were a knock out! We also chose the Prawn Cocktail which included about a dozen poached prawns and chilled horseradish cocktail with lemon. Many establishments may give you four or or six prawns. Our third appetizer was the shuckers dozen oysters. I know oysters in July may not be a thing for some but we enjoyed them. Especially, the thirteenth! For our mains we decided to do salads. The wife chose the Louie, Louie which included crab, bay shrimp, olives, egg, tomato, cucumber, asparagus, croutons, iceberg lettuce, and Louie dressing. I went with the Lavender Honey Salmon Salad with mixed berries, chevre croquettes, champagne vinaigrette, and candied pecans. Both were tasty and pleasing especially the lavender honey glaze on the Salmon. We ended lunch with the White Chocolate Mousse Cake and the Lemon White Chocolate Cheesecake. Both were tasty. Salty's has amazing views! Would come here purely for the window seating. Food was OK and I feel like this place is more for the vibes than the meal. Chowder was super thick. Lots of pesto flavored dishes including risotto and even the clams. Salmon is cooked medium rare but came out more like seared on top and raw inside. We weren't told about this until we got the food and they had to reheat it. Crab cake is a single crab cake and not multiple. Portions overall are small. Halibut was the only memorable dish and it was delicious. We also asked to swap the rissoto since we got the salmon which also came with rissoto and the waiter suggested mash potatoes. We thought the potatoes would be substituted but it was an additional $9 which we also were told about.. Everything else above was ok but wouldn't come here again if it's just for a casual meal. Truly a Pacific Northwest favorite! I'm not sure which I love more, the view or the food as both are excellent! I was in town for Seafair weekend and it had been a long time since I'd visited. I was delighted that I did! The salmon in the Pacific Northwest is the best salmon in the country and Salty's knows how to cook it to perfection! It was tender, flaky, and delicious. It is very lightly seasoned so as not to ruin the taste of this excellent quality salmon! I love the way they served it with the saffron risotto and topped off with frisée herb salad and white wine butter sauce! So good! Pair it with a nice glass of Pinot Grigio and some garlic bread and you won't bee disappointed! I also recommend ending with the crème brûlée! I love this place and I'm so glad the Sunday brunch buffet is back! The restaurant has beautiful views of Seattle, and with the weather warming up, it's really nice sitting on the patio and getting a bit of sunlight. All of the servers here are super friendly and the food is delicious. I've come here for their brunch buffet multiple times and it never disappoints. The chilled crab, poached shrimp, and fresh oysters are always amazing. The fried seafood is great too, the fried fish and scallops always taste really fresh. I love their omelette station since there's so many different choices and seafood that you wouldn't usually see in regular omelette stations. If you like seafood, you'll definitely love it here. The non-seafood options are fantastic as well. The prime rib is super juicy and tender and there's always a couple of standard breakfast items. One of my favorite things about the brunch is the dessert station. Most buffet dessert stations seem like afterthoughts, but the desserts here are super good and varied. We made our reservations not knowing the price had DOUBLED, which ok fine...whatever. But honestly, for the price of 99 per person it wasn't worth it. I couldn't eat enough crab to justify such an increase in price. I understand that with the rising costs of just about everything, but double?! We paid $400 with tax and tip for 3 people! I went here for a friend's wedding back in 2022 and now found time to try this place for real on a Saturday noon for lunch, though not for their Sunday brunch buffet sadly. My friend and I waited about 10 minutes to a mildly filled restaurant before getting seated, and got a table close to but not touching the awesome outside view of the Space Needle and the general Seattle cityscape. The inside is a fine-dining feel with tons of natural light, like sitting at some of the seafood restaurants in the Seattle Waterfront. Our service also felt on par with that as well; our server was on point with answering some of our questions and making sure we had all the water and utensils we needed. My friend and I split an Alki trio and a crab mac and cheese. Both of these on their own are already filling, so evenly split them both and you're probably still going to have to box some home. The Alki trio was probably the most filling for the both of us since we couldn't finish it. It comes with coco prawns, crab cakes and calamari, and each one hit with so much flavor! The prawns were juicy while still being a little savory. The calamari took up a good portion of our plate and was flavored and seasoned well. The crab cake was our favorite while also being the most heavy. I could probably do without too much of the pineapple on top of it, though. As for the crab mac and cheese, this was quite heavy too though they didn't skimp on the crab meat as much as I initially thought when it was first brought to the table. Not too cheesy, really creamy, and a little bit of a crunch due to the parmesan breadcrumbs. Both dishes were pretty pricey, with the Alki troi being around $45 and the mac and cheese being $37. My friend also got an espresso martini which I had a small sip of. I can't judge alcohol since I don't drink it, but I do love the coffee part of it. At least until the drink got bitter - quickly. For the same reason I don't drink, this had no effect on my rating or experience here. I've heard all about their Sunday brunch and now it's making me want to come back to try it! We celebrated our anniversary here and they decorated our table with flowers and a card, along with a waterfront view. We ordered the swordfish and the crab stuffed steelhead trout. Both were great dishes, although I lean more towards the latter. The swordfish had a wonderfully rich sauce of lobster and pancetta with gnocchi (slightly too firm for my liking). The Crab mixture on the trout was delicious, with the trout itself tender and the risotto a nice texture as well. I also had a glass of riesling (Pacific Rim) which had a slightly sweet and tart taste (I'd get again) and the kaleidoscope-ade, which was a little too tart for me but my wife enjoyed. To top it off, they gave us a complimentary piece of white chocolate mousse cake! Not sure where the king crab feast was but it wasn't at Salty's. For this price point you would expect to be impressed. You wouldn't think wow that's a sad looking single crab leg. When I think of Salty's it has always been quality for their price points. Usually the quality you don't mind the price. Today I felt let I got a Big Mac for Salty's $175 price point. While I would normally recommend all Salty's menu items I would steer clear of the king crab leg as it's a blatant rip off. They have a separate lunch and dinner menu but no longer serve lobster rolls, or the Halibut Fish & Chips, which were the two items we wanted to get, but they still have many other delicious items to choose from. Sunday brunch at Saltys! What a beautiful view and a great selection of seafood. We went for my birthday and the whole staff signed a birthday card. The food was great and the seafood was so fresh. The desert selection was large. And the crab was amazing such large chunks. What a great brunch and a perfect day to be on the water read more

We were seated shortly and it took a moment for our waitress to get to our table and greet us and now that I'm thinking about it the level of service with her was pretty low. I'll circle back to that after I talk about the positives. So once we had our drinks ordered (water, tea, soda & coffee is included). Depending where you are (we were seated in the center of the windows with the perfect view of the city). There's sooo many amazing vantage points with this location. The buffet is really all you can eat and choose. They do not skimp on the details and they do not have you waiting on food. Everything was fresh, perfectly prepared and nothing had temperature or quality concerns that you can get with mega buffets. Now back to our server...there were multiple opportunities for this server to be adequate. She almost feels like she went to hide and she only had maybe 3-4 tables. When she did decide to come visit and check in i would have to remind her what I asked for when she left the prior time. Then when it was to close out we had a party of 4 and she rang us up for a party of 5 and densely said "I thought I counted 5 people and laughed it off" as if we aren't paying $90 + a 4% surcharge and tax for this experience. She drops off the updated receipt and it gets to the point where we have up ask a busser for the close out. read more

Saltys brunch is basically a fixture of the PNW in my opinion. Awesome food...unlimited crab, oysters, eggs Benedict and much more! Great views of Seattle and I always get great service. Last time I was served by Chrissy and she is super awesome! A true veteran server and it shows, she made our experience even better. I always look forward to coming here and love to come here for special occasions. Highly recommend this place obviously... read more
