I visited this restaurant twice, and unfortunately, my experiences were quite disappointing. The first time, the food was decent, although the service was noticeably slow. I decided to give the restaurant another chance, but my second experience was much worse. Despite the restaurant being almost completely empty on a Sunday evening, I was told that they were unable to seat me because the entire restaurant was reserved. What made the situation particularly frustrating was that the parking lot was virtually empty, and there were very few customers inside. I was told the reservations would be filling the restaurant within approximately 10 minutes, which seemed highly questionable given the circumstances. Regardless of whether there were reservations or not, the way the situation was handled left me with the impression that customer service was not a priority. After two visits, I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant and will not be returning. read more

My friend and I chose The White Swan Public House based on Yelp reviews - beautiful view, friendly staff. The view is genuinely stunning. The staff, on a busy summer evening, seemed personally offended that we were there. The host sat us at a wet table, when I asked if they could dry it, the drying process came with an attitude. I specifically noticed that the host was busy, and wanting to be overly gracious, I thanked them for returning to dry the table three times, and was ignored - no "You're welcome" or "No worries" or anything, just dry the table with an attitude and rush off. Drinks, also delivered by the host, were dropped off with an attitude at the end of the table - "Here you go," as they sat them down - not asking which one of you had this or that - just "Here you go" and then away. The server, at first also seemed a little rude, no pleasantries - just "What can I get you." No "Hello, welcome in" The server got better with time. We appreciated the character arc. The food was fine. Our appetizer arrived after our entrées, which was a choice. (It was olives. We're still not sure what they needed more time to do.) No one checked on our drinks or asked how everything was tasting, so we'll never know if they cared. read more

Came to The White Swan Public House for patio dining. The patio is dog friendly, which is nice for a sunny day! I came with a group of 4 and a dog, no reservations right when they opened and was able to get seating out on the patio with no wait. The restaurant has $2 oysters all day with rotating menu on oysters specials for that day. We ordered a dozen of their variety specials, hush puppies, and clam dip. The oysters were huge, hush puppies went well with the calm dip. We each ordered our own entree, cheese burger and fish and chips. The cheese burger entree was solid and cant go wrong with the burger. The fish and chip was ok. The crust was different, not as flakey like other restaurants. Cozy spot right on Lake Union! I came here for a work dinner, and they were able to fit our group of ~20 on their heated patio. It felt like we were floating on the lake! Service was very friendly, and the walk was very pleasant from SLU. We ordered a variety of things: the hushpuppies came out piping hot, and had a great crispy batter. The oysters were fresh and juicy. I got the seafood stew in the saffron broth as my main, and unfortunately it was very salty - I couldn't finish the dish because it was just that salty, though the portion size was huge, and there was a ton of seafood in there. Wow, great Easter Brunch *service*, but *no*one* in our party of four enjoyed their meal. For me, the Atlantic Lobster Eggs Benedict featured the *toughest* lobster I've ever had the displeasure of tasting, and one tiny muffin?/toast?/unidentified-wheat-product? bravely supporting one egg with the second egg sadly sagging off the side. And not just the chef has issues. My French 75 was overloaded with simple syrup. It's a sour/sweet balance that makes it a great cocktail, people! We started with oysters which were so fresh, followed by salmon and shrimp ceviche, also excellent. My favorite was the seafood stew in a saffron broth that was amazing. The outdoor patio near the water is genuinely lovely, and on a nice Seattle day, it's a great spot to grab a cold beer and soak in the view. Unfortunately, the experience beyond that left a lot to be desired. The host staff was unwelcoming and not particularly accommodating -- not exactly the warm first impression you'd hope for. Service throughout the meal was slow, which made what happened next all the more frustrating: despite the delays on their end, we were asked to leave at the two-hour mark. This would be understandable under normal circumstances, but we still had full drinks in front of us and several guests at the table were still actively finishing their meals. When slow service is the reason a table runs long, enforcing a hard cutoff feels tone-deaf at best. We have brought out of town guests here after we got off a hot tub boat and it was a hit. They also said they couldn't serve the crab claws advertised because they were too poor quality. Service was ok, but he didn't refill our waters, or leave a carafe like other tables, he took a while to get back to us after we had been finished for a while. Overall the better part of the experience. If you're going to commit on a waterfront property restaurant, you should fully commit and get quality food. We ordered espresso martinis which they had to check to see if they could make first but were able to! We really enjoyed our first brunch experience at White Swan! We found out about this place on Instagram and were very pleased with the food. I ordered the Dungeness crab eggs Benedict and the brioche bun was so good as the base of the Benedict. We made a reservation to accommodate our large party with kids and there was plenty of availability for a Sunday morning. There are picnic tables outside with umbrellas to provide shade. The entrance to White Swan is tucked behind a few shops and restaurants. The first thing that greets you is that the table is limited for 2 hours. No leisurely dining here. They also require that you give your credit card information when you are making the reservation. The menu is very limited from what you see online. This was very disappointing. There was only one salad on the menu which was not what I expected as it was a chicory salad. I was looking forward to having seafood but ended up with the Osso Boccu because of my limitations and theirs. It was good, but not outstanding as I have had at many Italian restaurants. My husband had the halibut. It was small, but good. They had 2 desserts. Neither was to our liking, so no dessert tonight. read more
