We had a lovely dinner at this restaurant the evening of July 4th. The food was excellent as was the service. We sat outside which was great given the beautiful weather. We started with oysters which were so fresh, followed by salmon and shrimp ceviche, also excellent. My favorite was the seafood stew in a saffron broth that was amazing. We also enjoyed a smoked salmon salad that was perfectly dressed and very flavorful. The atmosphere is relaxing and perfect for enjoying a meal with family or friends. One thing to note is that they don't really have a dedicated kids' menu. The closest option was fish and chips, but my daughter wasn't interested in that. We ended up ordering the brisket for her, and she absolutely loved it! For the adults, we shared a burger and the fishwich, both of which were delicious. The meals come with fries, or you can substitute a salad for an additional $2. The service was friendly, attentive, and surprisingly quick. The restaurant was completely full on a weekday at 7 PM, which says a lot about how popular it is, yet the staff still kept everything running smoothly. A helpful tip: don't pay for parking right away. The restaurant offers discounted parking--just scan their discount code at the entrance first. My friend and I chose The White Swan Public House based on Yelp reviews - beautiful view, friendly staff. The view is genuinely stunning. The staff, on a busy summer evening, seemed personally offended that we were there. The host sat us at a wet table, when I asked if they could dry it, the drying process came with an attitude. I specifically noticed that the host was busy, and wanting to be overly gracious, I thanked them for returning to dry the table three times, and was ignored - no "You're welcome" or "No worries" or anything, just dry the table with an attitude and rush off. Drinks, also delivered by the host, were dropped off with an attitude at the end of the table - "Here you go," as they sat them down - not asking which one of you had this or that - just "Here you go" and then away. The server, at first also seemed a little rude, no pleasantries - just "What can I get you." No "Hello, welcome in" The server got better with time. We appreciated the character arc. The food was fine. Our appetizer arrived after our entrées, which was a choice. (It was olives. We're still not sure what they needed more time to do.) No one checked on our drinks or asked how everything was tasting, so we'll never know if they cared. read more

Came to The White Swan Public House for patio dining. The patio is dog friendly, which is nice for a sunny day! I came with a group of 4 and a dog, no reservations right when they opened and was able to get seating out on the patio with no wait. The restaurant has $2 oysters all day with rotating menu on oysters specials for that day. We ordered a dozen of their variety specials, hush puppies, and clam dip. The oysters were huge, hush puppies went well with the calm dip. We each ordered our own entree, cheese burger and fish and chips. The cheese burger entree was solid and cant go wrong with the burger. The fish and chip was ok. The crust was different, not as flakey like other restaurants. Cozy spot right on Lake Union! I came here for a work dinner, and they were able to fit our group of ~20 on their heated patio. It felt like we were floating on the lake! Service was very friendly, and the walk was very pleasant from SLU. We ordered a variety of things: the hushpuppies came out piping hot, and had a great crispy batter. The oysters were fresh and juicy. I got the seafood stew in the saffron broth as my main, and unfortunately it was very salty - I couldn't finish the dish because it was just that salty, though the portion size was huge, and there was a ton of seafood in there. This place never disappoints. Venue on a nice sunny day, sitting outside admiring the lake with a glass of Rośe is perfect. Sydney was our server and she was awesome. She took notes to cater for our nut allergies and made sure there wasn't any cross contamination. She had great recommendations. We ordered the fish and chips which was great. Love a good fish and chips that doesn't feel too oily. Coho salmon was grilled to perfection with the right amount of crisp. Wow, great Easter Brunch *service*, but *no*one* in our party of four enjoyed their meal. For me, the Atlantic Lobster Eggs Benedict featured the *toughest* lobster I've ever had the displeasure of tasting, and one tiny muffin?/toast?/unidentified-wheat-product? bravely supporting one egg with the second egg sadly sagging off the side. And not just the chef has issues. My French 75 was overloaded with simple syrup. It's a sour/sweet balance that makes it a great cocktail, people! I don't usually review dining spots on Yelp, and certainly not so critically, but this was a remarkably bad family Easter experience. I like the restaurant layout, the service, and the view. Service throughout the meal was slow, which made what happened next all the more frustrating: despite the delays on their end, we were asked to leave at the two-hour mark. This would be understandable under normal circumstances, but we still had full drinks in front of us and several guests at the table were still actively finishing their meals. When slow service is the reason a table runs long, enforcing a hard cutoff feels tone-deaf at best. White Swan is a solid choice if you're stopping by for a casual patio beer -- the atmosphere earns its keep. Honestly, for a hangout for friends, we could not have a picked spot to socialize and have fun! The dip actually would've been really good with ciabatta, perhaps with some olive oil and tomatoes. * Fish burger: The buns were actually quite good. Poofy and tasty. However, the rest of the burger was lacking in taste. I have a major suspicion that there was supposed to be sauce, that was never added. The fish was dry and had a muted flavor. The bacon added some flavor, but given this was a fish-centric burger, I was looking for more of a seafood flavor. * Seafood Chowder: This chowder was rich in seafood. Lots of clam, octopus, and an assortment of other seafood bits I couldn't make out. The chowder itself was full of flavor but unfortunately quite salty. Food was terrible. Why do places with a nice view, skimp on food quality? The burrata heirloom tomato salad was garbage. The burrata was so dry, it might as well of been mozzarella, and the tomatoes were mushy. And the fish on the fish and chips was so over cooked, but still smelled and tasted terribly fishy. They also said they couldn't serve the crab claws advertised because they were too poor quality. Service was ok, but he didn't refill our waters, or leave a carafe like other tables, he took a while to get back to us after we had been finished for a while. Overall the better part of the experience. If you're going to commit on a waterfront property restaurant, you should fully commit and get quality food. Don't buy low end seafood, and please hire a competent chef, fish and chips is not hard. read more

We ordered espresso martinis which they had to check to see if they could make first but were able to! Down on the water, boats flowing in and out of the marina, casual boathouse vibe w/indoor and outdoor sitting - you do not feel like you are in Seattle at all! The oysters are fresh and delicious - to this day & many oysters later I still believe the best oysters I've ever had were at this restaurant! They have a shells and champagne deal which we love. We have brought out of town guests here after we got off a hot tub boat and it was a hit. They also require that you give your credit card information when you are making the reservation. The menu is very limited from what you see online. This was very disappointing. There was only one salad on the menu which was not what I expected as it was a chicory salad. I was looking forward to having seafood but ended up with the Osso Boccu because of my limitations and theirs. It was good, but not outstanding as I have had at many Italian restaurants. Skunked out of a visit to neighboring Duke's by the wait, we drifted over to the White Swan. Worked out perfectly. Lovely companion had been jonesing for chowder, and the cup hit the target nicely. Spicier (in her opinion) and less cream forward than you'd find elsewhere - super tasty! I had the prawns, and my daughter the arugula salad. All solid, although we agreed that our gardens don't produce the kind of arugula they plated. Finished up with hush puppies, which earned mixed opinions. The vibe, the service, the food, and the prices worked out well for all of us, and it's right off the end of the South Lake Union streetcar line. Check it out! This little gem by South Lake Union transports you on vacation if even for a few hours. The staff is just as friendly as can be, and the food did not disappoint. Drink highlight: My husband is the cocktail aficionado and said all the drinks were amazing, but the Great Wal of China is one of the best cocktails he has EVER had. Food highlights: Crab Hush Puppies: nicely dense and soooo flavorful, I'm not joking whatsoever when I say the next time I come, I might just have a plate of these all to myself and call it. Fish and Chips: we've had our fair share in the UK and this was a solid plate. Chips are sometimes treated as a secondary aspect, but these were super tasty. Crispy out, soft in, and solid flavor. Poutine of the Sea I'm always going to give the unique menu item a go and I'm glad I did but this was the one dish I probably wouldn't get again. The fries were again delicious, but the clams were lacking somewhat in flavor and the bacon and chives somehow got lost. The gravy was again ok but didn't wow me. We will be back again super soon.
