5 star customer service. This restaurant has good food (especially good 5 cheese ravioli), a cozy dimmed-lights atmosphere (for dinner at least), and a good bar menu/wine list. The one thing that gets them a perfect 5 star review is their customer service. Attentive and near by at all times without being obnoxious or interrupting the table. Finally! An authentic, old school "red sauce" Italian restaurant right here in Bend. The one page menu offers all the Italian greatest hits: house made ravioli, spaghetti carbonara, fettuccine alfredo, chicken parmesan, chicken marsala and more. We shared the ravioli and chicken marsala and both were incredible. The raviolis were soft little pillows of pasta stuffed with delicate cheese covered in a hearty bolognese. The chicken marsala was heavenly. A lightly seared chicken breast with just the right amount of perfectly balanced marsala sauce. We also shared a caesar salad with homemade dressing- very good as well! We sat at one of the three tables on the sidewalk and the service was excellent! Whether you live in Bend or are just visiting, you should definitely put Salute' on your list of places to eat. È spettacolare! read more

Thank you for taking us without a reservation. This was probably the best meal of our vacation. The Cesar salad was served with a lemon wedge and now I don't think I can ever have one with out lemon. Don't hesitate to pay salute a visit. read more

Wasn't the best service and flow which left us with a bad feeling towards this place. Atmosphere is okay but it is hard to see where the money you are charged for your food is going. Went a couple weeks ago and it was ok at best, portions are small and very spendy for what you get. Appetizer of Wife had a steelhead trout / pasta dish that was good. I had chicken parmesan and it was very small and thin that was a bit burnt and not much cheese on a bed of spaghetti in an ok sauce. Wife had a couple Cosmo drinks that were good but expensive. We sat at the bar and the bar tender was amazing/phenomonal service but the food gets a 3 so I split and gave them a 4. We tried ordering meatballs and they were out and settled on the prawns app. The prawns were delicous! However, the polenta was oddly sweet for the pairing. We then shared the spaghetti carbonara with chicken. The dish was overly salty for our taste but not terrible. The atmosphere is also a bit lacking. All of this said, if we were craving pasta, we would give it another try! read more

Took my wife to Salute for her birthday dinner. Prepared to spend money on the whole works, appetizers, good wine, salad, dinner and desert. Wine came first and the puor looked a bit stingy. Shrimp appetizer was great. Caesar salad was average on par with Olive Garden but without the parm and croutons Olive Garden normally includes. It was over 30 minutes after the salads before the entrees were brought out. My fish special was under cooked so I sent it back. They could not finish cooking my dish and they did not have any more of that fish but offerd to cook another type of fish but it would take 15-20 minutes more to do that. So my options were to watch her eat alone and then have her watch me eat alone after my dish finally arrived (50 minutes after the salad course), or watch her eat alone, me go hungry and get the hell out of there. I chose the latter. They did tell me they would not charge me for the dinner I never got, like that was some kind of generouse offer, totally clueless that that was the minimum response to the situation. I get it that **** happens but their cluelessness on what hospitality is and how to make things right i sthe nail in the coffin for me on ever going back or recommending this restuarant to anyone. The food is OK...not great, but good. The service was great, friendly and attentive (even though the waiter was very busy) but not overbearing. I had the cinghiale ragu with penne pasta and it was more like pulled pork pasta than my idea of a ragu. My biggest issue is the noise. The place was deafening to the point where table conversations became almost impossible unless you joined the fray and raised your voice above everyone else, which then causes others to do the same. We may try it again on a weeknight, but then again, maybe not. read more

Delicious Italian food! We ordered the Caesar salad, chicken parm and spaghetti carbonara. The server was friendly (Glenn I think?) and had great recommendations for wine. I haven't had that good of a spaghetti carbonara in awhile and the Caesar dressing is one of the best I've had. Would definitely go back! read more

This was our first visit to Salute and we'll be certain to return on our next visit to Bend. The food was outstanding. Our previous Italian dining experience this year was in Milan...and this compared very favorably. The menu offers an excellent range of choices and all of the ingredients were top notch. Just by way of example, the arugula, basil, tomatoes were incredibly flavorful. When the produce in winter is that good, it speaks well of the restaurant. How have we lived in Bend for 4 years and only just recently discovered this place?!? Tonight was only our second time dining here, and hands down it has become our favorite restaurant in town. We have yet to order a single dish here that we wouldn't eat again, and despite there somewhat small menu, you'll have an impossible time deciding which of the most decadent delicious meals to choose from. My Fiancé always opts for the carbonara, which is easily the best we've ever had and tonight I ordered for lamb osso Buco over creamy polenta....so tasty and a very satisfying portion! Our server, Ryan, was attentive and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed to accompany our perfect meal. Be sure to finish off your meal with the tiramisu, you won't be sorry! We will definitely be back very soon. Fingers crossed they will have available raviolis, which I hear are hand made daily and are available till they run out, no doubt a popular menu item! read more

My husband and I have been waiting for a nice Italian Restaurant to come to Bend! We moved here over 5 years ago from Denver, Co. where we had great Italian cuisine. The service and food was great! Ambiance is comfortable, not to big PERFECT! Their wine list is exceptional!!! The only reason I gave it a 4 star rating instead of 5 is their cannoli dessert was made with mascarpone instead of ricotta. I believe they could do much bettering that area. read more

Came back as soon as we could, for our second time. Once again, exceptional service and food! The pasta dish with pesto cream, pancetta, prawns and scallops was SO GOOD! The fettuccine Alfredo was great, as was the scallops on risotto. We had the special dessert, apple walnut cannoli - quite yummy. We went for the 1st time tonight for our anniversary and were really disappointed. We just wanted a nice dinner. The place was small and incredibly noisy. The service was about as dismissive as I think I've ever received. Although we had a reservation for the last week and numerous text reminders they couldn't quite get it that we had a reservation and kept approaching us (even after being seated) to as about our reservation. Instead of being given a nice table we were bumped to a small table and dismissed when a larger party came in and took the table we were being seated at. The service was minimal and the waiter seemed annoyed and distracted when we asked about anything on the menu. The food was mediocre - I've gotten more interesting appetizers at chain restaurants. My husband referred to this as "expensive fast food". The food was over salted. This was overpriced and the food was mediocre with bad service for what was supposed to be a nicer than average experience for our anniversary. read more

The entrance leaves alot to be desired but once you are inside the restaurant the menu is great, food was excellent and so was the service. I found myself downtown Bend yesterday and decided to go into this new Italian restaurant I've heard so much about. I had Penne Arrabbiata and it was delicious. For dessert I enjoyed the Tiramisu and I've had a few of these before but being a fluffy guy this one was the best I've ever had. Thanks to the staff they made me feel like one of they're regulars. This place is absolutely amazing!! My husband and I are visiting from out of state and we're craving some good Italian food, and we were not disappointed!! The service was amazing and the food was some of the best Italian food we've ever had. We started with the bruschetta appetizer and Caesar salad, both delicious. He had the ravioli with the bolognese sauce. I typically eat vegetarian/vegan but tried this dish and it was so fresh and the flavoring was great. I ordered the vegetable penne primavera and had it with linguine instead. This was so fresh and light and the best pasta dish I have had in years. I have never left a review on yelp but this place was so delicious that I had too! Highly recommend this restaurant!!! read more

Surprised I do not hear more about this place! I have always found it a bit hard to get good Italian in these parts. Nothing like the east coast back door mafia stuff I'm use to. Usually the meals are over fancy and over seasoned. The handmade ravioli was amazing both times I have had it. I asked for it with the meatless red sauce, and it was pretty darn close to what I'm use to. Excellent simple flavors, perfect portion sizes, and thoughtful presentation. Our first visit to this new place in Bend was very enjoyable. The staff was very courteous and friendly. We enjoyed the Caesar salad and mixed green salad. Both were fresh and tasty. For our entrees we had the chicken marsala and the carbonara spaghetti. Again, both were delicious. The prices were very reasonable. The atmosphere was very warm, and it felt like we were actually in a small restaurant in Italy. Would highly recommend Salute. read more

We were told this was a great new Italian restaurant in Bend & went with friends. The decor was very nice as the service excellent. Several of us had chicken Marsala & were surprised how thick the sauce was & very unlike any chicken Marsala I've had previously. The entrance is awkward, but one once inside prepare to be delighted. The food was delicious. I had the arugula and pear salad which was great, although not enough to share. My husband had the Osso Bucco and said it was delicious, he's a real foodie!! I had the hand made ravioli and would definitely order again. We had the pomegranate cannolis which were delightful. The service was wonderful and attentive. It was very loud but quieted down considerably after 8:00. We look forward to our next visit. read more

Salute is a great addition to the Bend restaurant scene. We finally have a really good Italian restaurant in town. We have dined here twice in the past 3 weeks. Everything has been superb. The Lasagna, the raviolis, the lamb shank, the Arabiatta and the scampi.... yum! The salads are delicious and there is a good/affordable wine list. Oh, one more thing! The Old Fashions are perfecto. Finally, finally finally!!!! Bend has a real Italian restaurant! After seeing the great reviews and not being able to get in last week due to a full booking (a very good sign), my husband and I were treated to a delightful experience at Salute last Saturday. They did not disappoint! My husband and I split a caesar salad that was very flavorful and fresh. My husband asked to substitute shrimp for chicken in his Alfredo and he swears it's the best he's ever had. And he makes his own! My shrimp scampi was fabulous! We never have desert, but splurged on the Tiramisu. Wonderful! Taylor was a very friendly, professional and courteous host and Mary was a great server. We will definitely be back!
