Delicious Italian restaurant! We made reservations on the website the same day and immediately sat down. It's a cute, small-vibe place with friendly staff. The Carbonara and Chicken Parm entrees didn't disappoint. We'll be back on our next trip to Bend!

Absolutely amazing!! The food was all phenomenal, service was wonderful, small but quaint and ornate atmosphere. 10/10 recommend!

We arrived but didn't have a reservation. They were able to seat us at the bar immediately. The bartender was attentive and friendly, always had a smile on. Our food arrived promptly and were perfect portions. Scallops appetizer was delicious--tender w w wonderful smooth sauce. Our baby kale salad was delicious. I had the handmade ravioli which was excellent. My husband had the wild boar w handmade pasta, also delicious. We finished up the meal w the chocolate torte. Yum. It's a cute little place w nice lighting and a charming atmosphere. Highly recommend.

The food tastes and looks great! The ambiance is good, it gives small speak easy vibes almost. My only issue is every single time I've gone here (3 times) they've brought me the wrong food and then I wait for the right food and my compensation is usually a small piece of bread with honey butter. Regardless though I enjoy the food, personality of the staff, and the wine selection so I won't complain too much, we get there eventually.

Love me some Italian food and I haven't yet found a good place in Bend until NOW!! We went in pretty early around 5pm and the place was about half full. We were greeted with friendly people and given an amazing booth by the window. I have to say the service here was top notch. Claudia was kind attentive, helpful and just the right amount of great conversation and recommendations. My wife ordered the Sea Scallops, and I ordered the Beef Carpaccio Appetizers. Now I've had some scallops in my life but let me tell you this Chef knows what he's doing. Not only were they picture perfect they were cooked to perfection. Best Scallops I have ever eaten, hands down. I'm so happy my wife was willing to give me a couple bites. Not to be missed. My beef Carpaccio was delicious with the fresh toasted bread. YUMMY! I ordered the Hand Made Ravioli with Meat sauce and she the Duck Ragu. Pasta was cooked perfectly and the portion sizes were just right. The amazing flavors were diverse and I don't know how they could have been better. Desert was Chocolate Torte, Tiramisu and they had Basil Gelato. I think that's what it was. Wow that knocked my socks off. SOOO Good. This unassuming jewel in the heart of Bend is my new favorite place to eat. GREAT service, GREAT food and decent prices. What could be better? Loved it loved it loved it! THANK YOU!!!

Excellent dining here at Salute with even better service from Lianne! Three of us celebrated my husband's birthday about 2 weeks ago on a Tuesday evening. The ambiance is classy without being stuffy. Food was very good with very minor changes I would have made. However, I am the first to say I am very particular. This is probably more a reflection of my pickiness vs. their chefs' talents. My scallops were a tad undercooked for my taste but that's the key, for MY taste. For others, I'm sure it would have been perfect. I like mine solid and still tender. These were a tiny bit soft. Flavors were excellent! The butternut squash risotto didn't taste at all like it had butternut squash in it but it was yummy! I would definitely order that dish again. I ordered the last tiramisu, served in a very cute jar. I like my tiramisu to be very creamy and light. This was a bit heavy. I think I might prefer the square cake-like form factor. My husband and our friend loved the osso bucco, zero complaints from them. I sampled a bite and yes sirree, it was tender and flavorable. Highly recommended. Lianne's service is what put my rating over the top from 4 to 5. Lianne knows the fine art of being attentive and friendly without being intrusive. We were one of the last parties finishing up, and not only were not given the bum's rush, Lianne even chatted with us as she was working. We shuffled out of there satisfied, worth every penny.

Possibly the best cheese ravioli in white sauce I've ever had. Veggies with cod was good too though slightly over salted.

Follow the alley. Trust me…read more You know those places you stumble into and immediately think, "Yep...this is my kind of spot"? That was San Simón for me. At first, walking down the alley in downtown Bend, I honestly was not sure what we were about to find. Then we started seeing little fire pit pods, heated huts, glowing candles, and people tucked away having cocktails. It instantly felt cool without trying too hard. Walking into San Simón felt like stepping into some funky speakeasy hidden in plain sight. Dark lighting, moody atmosphere, David Bowie playing in the background, wild artwork on the walls that makes you stop and stare for a second. Just a great vibe all around. The kind of place where you sit down and immediately relax into the evening. The cocktails were excellent. Not overdone, not syrupy, just really balanced and well made. One of our favorites was the "Some Positive Feedback," which came with this sugar rim that looked awesome and added just enough sweetness without overpowering the drink. Bright citrus flavor, refreshing, smooth, and dangerously easy to drink. Then we asked the bartender if they could just make us something off the cuff. We said vodka, lemon and lime forward, not too sweet, maybe a little spice. They absolutely nailed it. Crisp, refreshing, layered citrus flavor with just enough heat on the back end to keep it interesting. Honestly one of those cocktails where everybody at the table takes a sip and immediately goes, "Oh wow." As a bourbon guy, I was also pleasantly surprised with the whiskey selection. The bartender recommended Stafford's Reserve, an Oregon bourbon, and I am glad I listened. Smooth, approachable, a little sweet up front with some spice on the finish. Easy sipping bourbon that fit the whole vibe of the place perfectly. What really made the night though was the staff. Everybody was friendly in that genuine way where you feel welcomed instead of "served." By the end of the night it honestly felt like we had been there before, even though it was our first visit. The outdoor setup deserves some love too. Bend cooled down at night, but the fire pits and heaters kept everything comfortable. We could have easily stayed another couple hours just hanging out. Pricing felt fair for the quality of drinks and atmosphere. This is not a dive bar pretending to be fancy. It is a genuinely cool cocktail spot that knows exactly what it is. If you are in Bend and enjoy craft cocktails, bourbon, cool music, quirky atmosphere, and places with personality, go find San Simón. Half the fun is finding it tucked down the alley in the first place.

The drinks are consistently great, always made with care. For reasons unrelated to restaurant quality or reputation, we'd avoided Zydeco. Recently, however,…read morealong with a couple friends, we decided to give it a shot. Verdict: Zydeco is an outstanding restaurant in virtually every way. No negatives to report. The place is popular - arriving just before opening on a weekday, there was a line to get in. Reservations are definitely a good idea here. Our early arrival in line allowed us to choose a good table in the back, where it wouldn't be too hectic. That too was a good idea as the place gets loud with conversation when it fills up. Music wasn't loud, just the people. The menu isn't huge but there are quite a few, varied choices. Given the meal was a bit of a splurge for us, I essentially ignored the prices, which are not trivial by any means. Fine dining entails spending money. Zydeco has a ton of reviews and as the menu apparently doesn't change, I'll just say everything we ordered was great. Cocktails too. The Bramble Down is exquisite. Service was top tier as well. Timely, attentive, professional without being stiff. The capstone to our experience involved the bill. We actually had a gift card from 2017 - nine years ago. While it certainly didn't cover the whole bill, or even half, it was a nice way to defray costs. Unfortunately, when the server ran the gift card, it showed no balance. Not sure why but perhaps over the years, the card had been erased by stray EMF. Despite that and given we provided the card receipt, the restaurant honored the card for the full amount anyway. Well done. Highly recommended.
