    Calamari and yummy bread

Brought my husband last night for dinner He had just gotten home from Florida for 3 weeks. Excellent staff, excellent service, great band and fantastic dinners. And when we were done the owner Donna paid for our meal to thank my lineman Exceptional time. Thank you

Let's start off by saying I'm disappointed. I was really looking forward to have a nice brunch spot near by. Unfortunately our experience left little to be desired. The place was not busy and we had our pick of tables, so we sat on the patio. Our server was attentive with getting our drinks and placing our order. We ordered specialty pancakes: banana fosters and the house special Piccolina's Pancakes. We started the bummer of a brunch when I was notified that they don't have the lemon basil batter that makes the Piccolina pancakes distinctly different from their other pancakes. But with the mascarpone and blueberries it should still make for a good meal. When they arrived at the table we immediately noticed the pancakes were near burnt. But we tried them anyway, and somehow despite being burnt they were gummy, dense, and tasted raw. They stuck to the roof of your mouth like peanut butter. The banana fosters pancakes were underwhelming, missing the candied walnuts. The banana topping was separated and was slimy and looked curdled? We also got two sides of bacon, which was the only thing we finished. After telling the server, she agreed they were burnt but we were offered no solution or even new plate. Then was told she couldn't remove them from the bill because only the owner could do that and they weren't present. So we forked over the $50 for the meal we didn't eat and left we a very poor impression of the restaurant. We won't be back, simply because we won't risk that price tag again on inedible food with no resolution.

    Seasonal special: perch piccata

Walked into and immediately was greeting by a warm, cozy Christmas environment. Sat on the heated patio and was very comfortable and had a beautifully decorated Christmas Tree to look at. Service was very attentive and friendly during the entire meal. Food was cooked to perfection (ordered a seasonal special). Will be returning more often

This place is bland. The only good thing is the beer and the live music. $40 for beers and overcooked dog food salmon. No thanks.

Their food menu is mostly lighter dishes, and while I didn't eat anything, I did watch them bring out the mussels to the couple next to me and they looked really amazing. While I was there I got a chance to meet and talk to the owners and they were really nice and attentive. They have a nice drink menu with a wide choice of wine (obviously) but also some interesting liquor and beer options. Their cocktail program is actually quite unique. If you want to buy bottles though, I think this is where they excel, because they have some really nice bottles available for sale, which of course you can drink on the spot, but they do charge a $20 corkage fee, which is why I knocked them down a star. I can understand if you're bringing your own bottle, but if you're buying the bottle there, I think it's kind of crazy to have that high of a fee. Just my opinion though. Other than that, the experience is great and definitely a great spot to go before or after dinner at Barda or Puma.

Our waitress approached us, told us the nightly specials and delivered our drinks. We ordered the Calamari appetizer with warm white wine and butter dipping sauce. Excellent and cooked perfectly, steak cut, no rings, yum! We both chose Minestrone soup, very tasty and we also received a bread and butter basket with a cup of marinara sauce. Our dinner came in a timely fashion, I ordered my favorite, Chicken Francese, I ordered garlic mash potatoes instead of pasta. Chicken was fork tender and the lemon butter sauce was light and delicious, mash potatoes were so good, I loved my dinner. Husband ordered Chicken Tosca with pasta and meat sauce, he was very pleased. Our waitress took good care of us! They offer a dessert tray and we took home a delicious piece of cheesecake with fruit inside. Great Anniversary dinner and Vic's made it happen. Give Vic's a try, excellent food, reasonably priced! After being seated, it was all about excellent food, drinks, and service. Vic's menu is really special. You just don't see this kind of authentic Italian food on many menus these days. We started with cocktails. They were a perfect opener. We were served fresh bread as well as garlic bread. Of course, the bread was delicious. All of us ordered Caesar salads, which were also delicious. From the Filet Marsala to a "Pasta Trio" of cannoli, fettuccine Alfredo, and lasagna, all of our entrees were superb. The steaks were cooked to order...and were so tender they could be cut with a butter knife. The dessert tray was amazing. All of us had cannolis. Just like everything else, they were excellent. Vic's will be the first restaurant I visit every time I come back to the Detroit area. I HIGHLY recommend it.
