Whether it was the hustling waitress catering to our table + an ongoing banquet, while still managing to stay consistent, or the skillful pianist adding to the Italian themed ambiance , both the vibes and service were immaculate! On top of that the food was Excellent!! My Family ordered a Large Pizza, Chicken Alfredo and a Caesar Salad which fed our family of 4 while still having leftover slices! We decided to come back for a second visit because we enjoyed our first experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with nice, cozy lighting that makes for a relaxing dinner. The garlic bread was served warm and the minestrone soup was just as good as we remembered. This time, I ordered the angel hair Alfredo, and unfortunately it was very underwhelming. The sauce was incredibly bland and lacked seasoning, which was disappointing because I was really looking forward to it. Taste just like milk. Our server didn't actually serve us -- they just passed plates on the table without a word, no "here's your pasta" or check-in after. Nobody offered drinks the entire night. Ok, so I took the wife here on Valentine's Day (I know. I'm late on this review) well we only come here for the Calzone because it's what we love and we look forward to having it. Well today they only had about 5 items to offer and I'm assuming it's because it's Valentine's Day and they probably don't want to have the cooks going nuts all night with everyone going on a romantic date, keep it simple, I get that. But I asked if they would make us calzones and the lady said no they can't and won't, they needed to stick to the special menu for the day. The bechamel sauce was a good counter for this as it offered the dish a bit more of a body outside of the pasta sheets. The mushrooms added the much needed umami, but as mentioned in the summary, it is fine to good. Service - Better than the food. The staff kept a good eye on us even though the Dodger closeout game was happening during the meal. Ambiance - It gives off an older Italian restaurant. This place is a treasure in the community. I picked up two pizzas and an Antipasto salad, everything was fantastic. The sauce they use on the pizza is really good, great quality. I've tried a lot of pizzas where the sauce is just too heavy on the herbs and spices and gives you instant heartburn but this sauce was perfect. Overall great flavor and quality. I know many people love Salvatore, but to my husband and I, we find it to be pretty mediocre. They have quite an extensive menu, but I think they almost offer too many choices. I would rather them have a smaller menu and the quality be higher. I ordered a side salad and Angel hair pasta with olive oil, garlic, and basil. My husband ordered the pepperoni and sausage calzone. My pasta was over cooked and was lacking flavor. My husband's calzone was served with all the sauce on the side which was weird, and he also said it was lacking flavor.
