Food was a delight. Our family had a great dinner. The wine selection I felt was lacking. Service was nice but she was very busy. It was a good thing her peers were helping make sure all families are attended to made feel welcomed. The seating was very closely packed together. The table turnovers were prompt and done very neatly and organized. So it made up for it. My family will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

What a great treat this was! We were in the area since The Royals game got rained out, so we figured we'd finally check this place out--I've driven past it at least 100 times over the years and just never stopped in. After living in Chicago for 12 years, I legit felt like I'd been transported to Highwood's Old Town. What a hidden gem right here in Missouri! We had amazing service, and our sweet, helpful waitress recommended a fantastic Italian red blend and a calamari appetizer to start. The bread, Caesar, and house salads were all great--classic and fresh with homemade dressings. For dinner, my husband had the spaghetti and meatballs, I went with the Mostaccioli Victoria, and our daughter had the capellini with tomato basil. Everything was absolutely delicious and super generous in portion. The sauce had that sweet, mellow, authentic flavor we love, and the tomato basil was probably the table favorite. Prices were very reasonable for the amount and quality of food. If you're craving real Italian but don't want to drive into the city--or all the way to Chicago--you can get surprisingly close right here in Independence. Highly recommend. Enjoy!

I'm Italian and I love these mom and pop style Italian restaurants. The crooners were crooning. The decor was old school. The servers were attentive. The food was delicious. We stopped while traveling through but would love to go again someday.

I came to this beautiful Italian spot located on 40 highways as an attendee of a luncheon. There were around 65 women so I applaud the staff for their patience and professionalism. There were people ordering a verity of different types of drinks and were accommodated properly. When you walk in, the decor is beauuuuutiful. I didn't get a picture of it, but it's stunning. I didn't know what we were served, however my chicken was tender and juicy.. truly some of the best chicken I had in that regard. However, you could take vinegar in almost every dish, which has a pretty infamous taste for those who like it. That being said, I feel like the vinegar took away from the flavors of the dish. Outside of that, the salad was not a fan of mine either. I'd be willing to try other dishes!

The initial atmosphere of the building was not the best. The interior was dated and the tables were cramped together. Despite this, the food definitely made up for it. I ordered the Pesto Alla Pesca and it was delicious, but I had to get extra pesto with it since the dish was light on it. Everyone at our table had good portion of sauce except the pesto dishes. My girlfriend ordered the Alfredo, which was a very thick sauce and we both agree didn't have much flavor, cooking it ourselves would've had a better taste. The service was timely during the entirety of our meal. The only time we had to wait was on our boxes

If you're craving authentic Italian look no further than Salvatore's. The food is spectacular and the service is spot on. I have my favorites and I just can't seem to try new dishes because I love my favorites so much! You always receive bread and butter, but trust me, splurge and order the Italian butter and dip your bread. It's soooo good you'll want to use to spoon to eat it like soup, but your manners will tell you otherwise Another thing I love about Salvatore's is they don't short you on the sauce. I've noticed other Italian joints don't sauce enough and leave some of the pasta 'naked'. You always receive a generous amount of sauce.

I was craving REAL Italian. When I walked in the restaurant is small but cozy and a bit dark. Juliano was my server and he was attentive with good recommendations. The house salad is amazing! And the linguine was everything I was craving. The portion size was huge and the flavor was great. I would definitely be back. read more

We went in with reservations for a party of 10. Tony our server was AMAZING, over the top and many of of tipped between 50% -100% of our bill. The issue was the food, the Alfredo compared more to gravy. It was overly thick and bland. We left full plates of food and asked for no leftovers to be packed. However the leftovers that were packed, have also gone in the trash. Took us roughly 3 hours for this meal. There was also a hair packed in my leftovers! This was sad for the amount of money we all spent to dine here. read more

WOW. Cannot remember being so disrespected at a restaurant in my 63 years on the planet. Heard great things about this place. Whent there on the spur of the moment, the greater gave my daughter a snide look and said can I help you. Not welcome or how many in your party. Then we were taken ro a table, brought water and bread and told the waitee would be over. The waiter looked directly at our table no less than 4 times in the 20 minutes we were there. As we left my daughter said to the greater we are just going to go the waiter never came over. The greater said OK. Just OK, no sorry we will fix this just OK. Phenomenal food and service! Although we had to wait a bit to be seated, it was well worth it! The wait staff was so pleasant and friendly and they clearly enjoyed their jobs! Tables too close together. Loud. Cook got both orders wrong. Food was not tasty. Sugu tasted like Tomato Juice with absolutely No Flavor and was very thin and watery. Pasta was way over cooked and mushy. It felt dirty in there-- too dark. I think if the Owner were to taste my food order they would be appalled! read more

Always amazing. We especially love the Alfredo. Very cool atmosphere and cozy inside. Our server this time was extra awesome. This is a lovely little romantic Italian-American restaurant with all of the menu items you might expect without a pizzería. Drink menu isn't extensive, but their wine and cocktail selection is tasteful! The Garlic Butter appetizer is delicious as is their fresh bread. The only reason they get 4-stars instead of 5 is due to the size of their bathrooms. I am 6'3" and hit my head on the ceiling light, and sitting on the toilet in their 'stall' meant that I had to get naked from the waste down with the door open to sit on the toilet before closing the stall door. Reservations are recommended! read more

This was such a fun place to go. We went as a party of 10, and the experience was awesome. The reservation was at 7pm, but our table wasn't ready yet. Our group hung out at the bar until it was. It was cozy and dimly lit, but it was nice. When we were led to our table(about 15 or 20 minutes later), we were given some complimentary italian butter and fried raviolis for waiting! Trey was our server, and he never missed a beat. He was very accommodating, answered every question, and gave excellent recommendations! We got everything from spedini, to shrimp scampi, to veal parm. One in our group got the 3 way pasta, and he finished the whole thing!! That has got to be at least 2 lbs. of food! He did get a free desert for that as well! All in all, I would definitely recommend coming here! I know my husband and I will be back for a date night! read more

Salvatore's consistently puts out the BEST Italian food you could ever hope to sink your teeth into. Family-owned with an emphasis on customer service along with great food. Many of their employees have been with them for years, which reinforces what a great establishment it is, allowing you to get to know all of them easily. I love this place and have been going to their restaurant for years. I cannot wait for my next visit!!!!! read more

Service was excellent. Nice dimly lit, romantic feel. Perfect for a first date We started with the italian butter and bread, and the fried eggplant. Entrees were the tour of Italy and the 3 way pasta with meatball and Italian Sausage. We didnt get dessert, but the menu looked great. Next time ! Everything was really good. Missed my Spedini Giorgio. Had the opportunity to make a lunch run and seized it. The house salad dressing seemed a little lacking in flavor but the Spedini itself was glorious. How I love the lemon in the buttery sauce with capers and olives over the tender charbroiled chunks of chicken. Holly S was an absolute delight as a server. Didn't know what to expect walking in but I very pleasantly surprised. I loved the ambiance. Sinatra playing in the background only added to it. The food really hit the spot. Everything we ordered was so good. The staff was also on point. Everyone we dealt with was very courteous and provided great service. They made the experience that much better. Horrible from start to finish!! Served chicken completely raw and hair in the pasta. The management was unhelpful even attempting to bill for the foul food. management also was completely unprofessional when contacted the following day, denying the whole event and then cursing and using aggressive language. I wouldn't waste your time or money on this scam of a restaurant. A truly terrible display of ignorance and incompetence by the owner and family, zero class or accountability. this place makes Olive Garden look 5 star! read more

I found the food less than spectacular! I had the veal parmigani and it was medalists of deep fried veal with red spice and melted mozzarella. Not my idea of what it should have been! Also is came with pasta with "sugo" sauce which wasn't great and over sugared! I am type 2 diabetic so I did not eat it! We may try again sometime in the future!? I was disappointed read more

Great service and food. We showed up around 8 on a Saturday and most tables were full. We were offered a seat at the bar and had the best experience. The bartenders were great and so were the drinks and wine selection. I ordered the pasta three way. They aren't joking when saying it's the pasta "three day". So good. I arrived w no reservation on a Holiday weekend. The owner took an extra minute to find a spot for me. Service was great! I had the Brandied chicken. Pasta was perfectly prepared and the dish was generous and tasty. I took half home which made it an extra good value. The facility could use some work. The stuffed artichokes here are simply delectable, and there's Happy Hour on cocktails 'til 6:00 p.m. My husband is of Italian descent, and is native to Independence. (And believe you me - no trip to Paul's hometown is ever complete without a stop at Salvatore's for one of Paul's big Italian carb fests.) I always just sit back with a low carb cocktail and a stuffed artichoke and watch him (my husband) gorge himself into a big fat stupor. Many fond memories here, with many more to come. read more

Excellent food!! I didn't order the spedini for which it's known, but the pasta was outstanding. I got the tour and each part was as delicious as the other. My only complaint is that the servers are excellent at upselling and not telling you it's an additional price. Which good for them, but it adds up quick!!! read more

When I brought up the lack of toppings, my ongoing frustration with this location's consistent issues, and the fact that I had told my husband we shouldn't order from here because well the pizza is always disappointing. Kayla seemed to find the whole situation amusing. Spoiler: it wasn't. She offered no solutions--no refund, no credit. Instead, she pointed out that since I had given my 3-year-old the smallest piece of pizza to calm a meltdown, where she was screaming "I love messed up pizza," when I was trying to explain it needed to go back... I wasn't eligible for anything. When I asked for the corporate number to escalate the issue, she claimed she didn't know it and wasn't motivated to find it. She eventually mentioned it was online but admitted she wouldn't even know where to direct me. The only real help Kayla gave me during the entire call was spelling her name correctly. That's it. Beyond that, she sarcastically offered to remake the pizza, adding that she didn't know how many times she'd have to remake it since I "clearly don't like the way they make pizza, their crust, or their toppings." Not exactly the customer service experience I was hoping for. At this point, I'm not picky--I'm just looking for someone, anyone, from Pizza Hut to step in and Make Apizza Great Again. Please let me know how we can resolve this. And maybe consider a refresher course in customer service for Kayla--because sarcasm and dismissal shouldn't be part of a manager's skillset. There are two other Blue Springs Pizza Huts that have both provided pretty consistent and excellent service. It's this location that consistently disappoints. Thanks, Jen

I am always impressed with the friendly staff when you first walk in. The menu is great because you can get a salad/soup with your entrée. The food is amazing. I love to try new dishes, and the signature dish: Chicken Spiedini is DIVINE! A must try. I've been going to Salvatore's since I was in kindergarten! The staff is like family & Sam, the owner, is very friendly. All of the food is delicious. My favorite is the Garozzo chicken spiedini.
