My family and I came here with my father-in-law and absolutely loved our meal. My kid found this restaurant after searching reviews and we wanted to try a new place. Grand Slam Home Run. We found out that most of the people (regulars) who usually come here are on their vacation season so it was not an issue getting a six-top reservation with only a day's notice. The restaurant is huge with at least two mega rooms downstairs and one upstairs. We actually went to the upstairs door to check in only to be told we had to go to the downstairs door and check in there. Once we did, the staff asked if we would be ok with being in the "party" room where there would be a DJ. We were fine with that and the staff was more than happy to accommodate us. Once at our table, the extensive menus made it almost too difficult to decide what we wanted. May want to consider reducing the food options here. My wife and I split a tomahawk steak. Once we ordered it, we were told we should probably move to an eight-top because we would have more space. The place was almost empty at 6:15pm on a Saturday so we got to move and give us some more room. We also had two serving of Plov, a prime NY strip, a roasted beet salad, and a chicken fingers with fries. We added some bread, too, along with some compote. The Plov was some of the best we've ever had with lots of tender meat. Both steaks were cooked to our liking. Fries were killer and the chicken fingers were fine. I did not care for the compote as I'm used to it with fruit still in the drink. At about 7pm, the DJ started but there was no separate party which is what we thought was going to show up. The DJ sang some and played up-tempo dance music but also threw in some known music like Ob-Bla-Dee Ob-Bla-Dah from the Beatles also in the dance music style. So much fun after drinking a lot of our BYOB alcohol. Service was excellent and more than accommodating for us. He even advised when we were getting ready to leave that it was raining hard and we could stay until it died down. The restaurant is colorful with lights and designs on the walls including projector lights and white linen sheets above. The place was clean and also the bathrooms on the lower rear level. $305 not including tip for six adults which included two steaks, two Plov, chicken fingers with fries, three breads, and a compote. I mention a lot with my reviews that I'd come back to a place. I really can't wait to return to Samarkand! It was just a lot of fun with excellent food and service. I had a very disappointing experience at Samarkand Restaurant: the quality of food including tiny dry pieces of shish kebab , salads portions and freshness should be improved, and finally, overpriced meal made me think that the place is little less than a mediocre dinner. You'd better have something in the fridge at home, because the likelihood of your total disappointment. We take breaks and being regulars at many of the restaurants we frequent so that we can more greatly appreciate the flavor profiles and the region of cooking so we came back on this super cold night before the big snowstorm after a movie a traditional meal, we decided to pick around through some apps and the soup to satiate our hunger for the evening My wife started off with a Langham soup and I had the ugro Oshi soup, both had very distinct flavors. Both were very warming, which was nice on the super cold night and quite filling too. We shared the Monty with meat and salsa pumpkin, two go to dishes for us, always flavorful. We've had the takeout as well, and though I do not live in the area, I try to visit at every opportunity. The service is very attentive, the food is authentically delicious, and it is BYOB. Tried this restaurant for a friend's birthday and I really enjoyed it! The food was spectacular! I had the avocado and shrimp salad and the Ribeye roulette which were both very good - especially the salad! Highly recommend. My husband had the ribeye steak with mashed potatoes and he really enjoyed it as well. We then shared a banana split dessert which was very good. The location is a little hidden but not too hard to find, it is very pretty inside. Absolutely delicious food and incredible service. I've lived in this area the majority of my life and only recently dined at this restaurant. I am not an adventurous eater, but I could kick myself for not going sooner. The food was that delicious and very importantly reasonably priced. Was in the area searching for something to eat when my sister and I finally decided to dine at Samarkand Steakhouse after reading reviews and checking out the online menu (thank you for all the pictures!). We walked in at ~3pm on a Saturday and were instantly seated as we were the only ones in the large restaurant. The restaurant is spacious and has a unique design with a digital fireplace, screens with colorful graphics, and bull heads on the wall. Seeing as that we've only had limited Uzbeki food in the past, we were thankful for our waiter that went through the entire menu with us, explaining the dishes and letting us know his favorites. We decided to order the Tandoori Samsa, Deep Fried Pelmeni, and the Ugro Oshi soup to start. The samsa was interesting as it was fluffy and crispy on the outside while being dense and hearty on the inside. It was a nice bite, but we agreed that the two of us could have shared just one. The deep fried pelmeni was by far the best dish we had. It was crispy, juicy, and addictive, especially dipped in the sour cream. The caramelized onions were unlike any I've had before, with an almost pickled taste, so delicious! The ugro oshi is a wedding soup with chickpeas, carrots, noodles, and meatballs; it was also very dill-forward. While I enjoyed the carrots, the meatballs were a bit dry and dense, and the dill was somewhat overpowering. Shortly after, we were served the Napoleon Kebab and Classic Style Lamb dishes. The Napoleon Kebab is ribeye skewered with lamb fat cap and had the beefy ribeye taste with the rich fatiness from the fat cap. The most disappointing dish for us was the classic style lamb. We did not really enjoy the brine and taste of the lamb and felt the fat was overwhelming, and the onions did not do enough to cut the gaminess. The service was a bit slow considering we were the only table there for most of our meal (took quite awhile before our server came out and eventually brought us water); however, the detailed explanations and friendly demeanor more than made up for it. Multiple tables of chattering people ordering catering sizes of multiple foods. Which btw is already a good sign of a bombass restaurant. We appreciate that the management responded, but this suggestion seems more like avoiding the problem rather than solving it. However, it appears that manager Tatyana is still working there, and it's unclear whether any action will be taken to improve her customer service standards or if she will continue speaking disrespectfully to clients. No compensation or discounts were offered. Review: We used to order food from this restaurant for work, usually for 3 to 10 people, and occasionally for celebrations. Quite often when ordering by phone, we would reach a rude young woman who clearly doesn't know what politeness or customer service means. No "hello," no "thank you" or "please." Her tone was arrogant and even insolent. The orders she handled were frequently problematic -- once the liver was missing, another time it was the Tarkhun drink. The last time, we ordered three shawarmas but found only two in the bag (the rest of the order was correct -- that time it was our oversight). We reported it to the restaurant, they called us back, and indeed we later found the third shawarma in the bag. However, the same girl, who introduced herself as the manager Tatyana, arrogantly said that "instead of wasting her time, we should have checked the order more carefully." When asked to reconsider her attitude toward customers, she simply laughed into the phone. As a team, we decided we will no longer waste manager Tatyana's time from Samarkand with our orders -- and we don't recommend that you do either. So first of all Samarkand's location in a strip mall has to be worst case scenario. The interior is fine. The menu is enormous. Meat never quite comes out as tender as one hopes but everything is tasty. The main drawback of this place is that there is no alcohol its BYOB. Some of the dishes don't live up to the hype, for example the home made potato chips weren't what I expected. But by and large, the resto delivers a lot of good food. If it served alcohol and I weren't overweight already, I would probably eat here at least once per week. read more

What a great experience having dinner here was to help celebrate my cousin's birthday. None of us have ever been here - they were a suggestion on Yelp, and we are happy we listened.
