This place food was 10/10. Everything was very flavorful. We try the Chicken steamed Momo's and it was very good. Remind me of dumplings almost but the dipping sauces was the game changer. We also order butter chicken it was better compared to lot other locations near by. Even the fancy ones. The good came out super hot. If it's not burning my mouth I just don't want it. We got the Paneer Momo, Chicken Momo, Jhol Paneer Momo, Paneer Tikka Masala, Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Tikka Fries, and the Szechuan Chicken Fried Rice, and several orders of Garlic Naan. The garlic tikka fries were tasty and crispy, and tasted great with the tikka sauce. I really enjoyed all the momos as well. They were hot and flavorful and the chutney that was paired with them was equally yummy! The tikka masala dishes were all really good too and I really enjoyed them with the garlic naan which was very warm and had a good garlic taste. The Szechuan chicken fried rice was also good but very spicy, so I'd order this with caution for anyone who can't handle spice! This place is a hidden gem. The food was affordable, the space and the service was friendly. Loved the ambient beat-filled music playing in the background. Great new restaurant in San Mateo. Had the chicken Momo which are Nepalese dumplings and the eggplant curry. Both were amazing and tasted fresh and made from scratch. The entree prices are very reasonable though the side dishes like rice seem a bit pricey. I really wanted to try more dishes but I was full. This is definitely better than Urban Momo in San Mateo so I've now found my new favorite Nepalese / Indo-Chinese restaurant. Super friendly service. Chicken steamed Momos were ok. Tandoori Momos( paneer/ or chicken ) are quite good . They didn't give me the chilli paste on my request saying that they didn't carry it even though they had lots of it in the storage area. What it really turned out to be was a plate of Momo's with just a tiny small portion of soup broth on the side... was expecting it to be something like a wonton soup but my mistake... This place was amazing. We had just finished ice skating in San Mateo and were looking for food and came across this place on Yelp. We decided to try it and man are we happy we did. You know one of those underrated spots that you just hope you find one day? Well this is 200% one of those places. Don't pass it up, you won't be disappointed. We decided to try their butter chicken, veggie coconut curry, veggie biryani, several garlic naan bread baskets, and their tandoori chicken (halal). They were delicious! The weather was pretty nice (feel free to skip this paragraph if you don't care about these intros), so my friends and I were walking around downtown to see what was good, like in the days before the internet. All we were missing was a Yellow Pages. Anyway, we were looking at the menu for Samikcha MoMo outside when one of the staff asked us if we'd eaten with them before and to come in and give it a try. Also, he said to disregard the reviews because they were new, which was odd because--at time of writing--they had 4.6 stars on Yelp. Obviously, I looked, because, y'know, you would, wouldn't you? The highlights: Chicken MO:MO (8 pieces) $12.50: In a sea of unremarkable momos, these stood out as the best I've had. They're shaped in more of a dumpling form than your average momo, and had a delicious unctuousness to them. Brilliant with or without the sauce, they come highly recommended. Roti $4.00: I was a little apprehensive about this one, as a lot of whole wheat products come out pretty rough, but Samikcha MoMo has really leaned into the texture and fried these. The result is a crispy pairing for your curry of choice, rather than a mouthful of dry millet seed. Having been to a few different Nepalese places, I'd put Samikcha MoMo down as the best of them. Just be careful of the spice level--I blithely ate some of the innocuous-looking peppers in the choila my friends had eaten around and was immediately thankful that service kept our water pitcher topped off. read more

We went to this place after reading a lot of positive reviews. I wish I could rate this place with negative stars. We had ordered Garlic Tikka Fries,Chilli Paneer Bhaat Bowl and VEG MOMOS. The Garlic Tikka Fries were under seasoned fries sprinkled with some garlic. There was no Tikka seasoning in it which made the fries bland. Chilli Paneer Bhaat Bowl: The paneer in Chilli Paneer was hard and chewy. But the fried rice was good. VEG MOMOS We had specifically ordered VEG MOMOS because we are vegetarians. The lady in the restaurant brought Momos and when we tasted it,it tasted unusual. We were in doubt because Veg momos didn't have any vegetables and there was something chewy stuffing in it. So when we asked the hotel staff(lady) she told casually that it was Chicken Momo. We had specifically ordered VEG MOMOS and the staff gave Chicken Momos. They were not even sorry about it. She asked if she could get another order but we had already lost interest to eat there so we asked for bill. We couldn't eat fries nor Chilli Paneer Bhaat Bowl nor the Momos. But the staff billed 21.95$ and told that she had billed for Bhaat Bowl n fries and gave 10% discount. This was like rip off because it was their mistake to mess up the order,spoil our dinner and then also charge for what we couldn't eat. My husband loves Indo Chinese and though Indian restaurants as well as Chinese places are tons around here, the fusion of both cuisines are hard to come by, especially excellent ones. These guys do a phenomenal job--we ordered a ton of stuff to share, and though historically I've never been a fan of mom's had to try them here. We got their vegetarian ones and they were decent, though I wouldn't wax about them. Their fried rice is the best ever I've had. I do mean ever. Insanely great fresh flavors, you can actually taste the Indian as well as Chinese inspirations in this dish, with little bits of red onion sautéed till just barely caramelized and mixed in with fresh cabbage and carrots with fried rice and egg ... it was truly just absolutely stunning. I would go back just to eat that thing. No joke. The chaat had all the tamarind and yogurt and mint sauce, actually tasting as any Sunnyvale chaat place lol :-) Their rasmalai my husband loved and they have a true tandoor, which is why we got their chicken super flavorful and smokey. Their interior is bright and spartan, clean and they have terrific online ordering system up front, which I saw several people use. The prices are super reasonable and the service so incredibly warm and friendly, with the folks going out of their way to answer our questions, and because we had never been there before, we had a ton of those.
