Hot dog combo, fries, & chicken sandwich!
Fabiola R.

If you're looking for some classic American food at an affordable price, Sammies is the place to go! They have a wide variety of food options and combos, all for a great price. My favorite is the hot dog combo! Their menu ranges from hot dogs to burgers to gyros, there is something for everyone! You have the option to take out or dine in, either way the service is quick and friendly! The restaurant itself has a hometown vibe with sports decor all around. A great spot for a quick bite or to celebrate a game victory with the team.

The Samburger with cheese is delicious.

I can't believe I've never reviewed this place!   I've been coming here since 2002, and it never disappoints. Through the years, I've probably tried over 75% of the menu offerings.  Some of my favorites include (in no particular order) the:  Italian Beef, Gyro, Philly Cheesesteak, Samburger, Chicago Dog, Chili Dog, Chicken Sandwich, and the Combo.  Oh, and the shakes and malts!  I love their onion rings and fries too!  Today I had: a Samburger with cheese, fries, and a drink.  The total with tax was $9.35; which is a relative bargain for the quality and quantity of food you get Service is fast and friendly.  The restaurant is clean, with some nice nostalgia on the walls. If you are looking for the quintessential, locally-owned, Chicagoland fast food joint ... go to Sammie's.  You'll be glad you did!!

If I'm looking for truly good fast food when you have a time crunch this is it. Very good burgers, Italian Beef, Cheesesteaks and french fries! Local restaurant chain with good customer service. There's also quite a bit of room to sit inside if you'd like.

Your typical townie fast food joint. Sammie always hits. Gyro sandwich combo, extra tzatziki sauce.

Good food, great gryos but no Pepsi only coke. Bathroom nice and clean. My husband and I could have shared the fresh fries.

Classic Chicago food from a shop that's an institution. What's not to like? If you're nearby, be sure to try it.

The fries were very good; however, the Italian sausage was small and overpriced compared to Luke's in Mundelein.

On this visit we ate in and ordered a butterburger with cheese, the "new" chicken sandwich, and a large fry. So, our order came out wrong. They didn't offer us a receipt at any point and apparently we had been charged for this order, which was a double burger with cheese, the chicken sandwich, no fries. They quickly brought me out some fresh fries at no charge, which I figured averages out the cost of the double burger, so no big deal... but they should be paying a bit more attention. The food was mostly on point. The chicken sandwich is advertised as less dry and more seasoned and it hits those notes well. A good sandwich. The burger was good minus the bun, which was maybe old or stale. The bun on the chicken sandwich was excellent so it was odd to see such a difference. The fries were piping hot. They're good quality but kind of bland. After, I got a Concrete. With chocolate custard, peanut butter, and marshmallow. Again, no receipt, and I felt like it was missing the marshmallow. There were a few ice crystals in it as well, so while it was still good it wasn't up to the quality I expect. The place is still a nicer sit down experience than you'd get at other fast food places but tables weren't clean and needed a wipe down. Feels like they're missing the mark here these days, but almost certainly the best fast food burger you can get around here regardless.

The ButterBurger with cheese was juicy, flavorful, and that buttered bun should honestly win awards. It's not my first visit, and definitely not my last. Consistently delicious and dangerously addictive in the best way.

The inside of the restaurant was not busy; however, the drive-thru was. The front counter employee was ready to help us right away. We took a little bit of time to order as my son wasn't sure yet what he wanted (a sandwich or chicken nuggets). Once he knew what he wanted I placed the order right away. I got a roasted turkey slider kids meal, a wagyu steakhouse burger with extra veggie toppings (lettuce, tomatoes, onions and pickles), and to go, the Diablo Roast Beef sandwich with extra veggie toppings (lettuce and jalapeños). There was no additional cost for the extra veggies. The food came out promptly and we got to eating it right away. I really like their wagyu steakhouse burger. It was quite flavorful and tasty. The burger meat was cooked properly. The extra veggies added a good balance for me. I was a bit not hungry still and wasn't going to eat the Diablo Roast Beef sandwich until the next day. So, I ordered a Jalapeño Roast Beef slider with lettuce, onions and tomatoes and snack size order of their curly fries. They slider was darn good too. I enjoyed it a lot. For a snack size portion, the amount for the curly fries was good. Also, in their fountain drinks variety, they had Coke Zero which is a rare find at restaurants. So, I was happy about that too as I only drink Zero Sugar (not Diet) pop/ soda beverages. My son enjoyed his meal as well. The following day, I had the Diablo Roast Beef sandwich at home and I loved it. If you like spicy sandwiches then this one is for you. We had a good experience at this Arby's. The food and service were good. The food prices are quite reasonable on top of good tasting fast food. I definitely recommend going to this Arby's if you enjoy Arby's food.

When they put the sign up I was so intrigued as to what B&B would be. Much to my delight it was Greek American style! I grew up eating along this specific fault line of American favorites and Greek classics, so I was psyched to see something like that around here. As soon as I saw they were open I had to stop in. They nailed it here. The clean diner concept was friendly and comfortable. The family run business was putting out, for my money, the best gyros anywhere around! Spinach Pie, another classic and another must have. I got one almost every visit. They did a great job with American stuff, and even a few Mexican style dishes too! I'd get the taco meal a lot actually, it was a great hearty meal. The Greek chicken plates and the lemon chicken soup were some of the best here, these guys knew their way around a chicken! There's plenty more I could say, it's been about 3 years after all... this is a big loss on the community. Nothing hits quite like this spot, it had become a go-to for me. Can't decided what to eat today? Go to B&B. Multiple people in the group want different types of food? Go to B&B. Craving something light? Go to B&B. Need a hearty dinner? Go to B&B. Well, now I can't go to B&B anymore. The area is less inviting without them, it's left a massive hole here that likely won't be filled. Trying to buck up... I'm wishing the family all the best moving forward! They are still running their Facebook page for the business, with a post saying they will have more information soon. Whatever they plan, I hope to be eating their food somewhere not to far from here in the near future. Goodbye for now, hopefully not sayonara. And thanks for the good times!
