Omelette with mushrooms, bacon and cheese
    Lynn K.

An underwhelming experience. Went for breakfast with a group of 8. We asked for separate checks for some of the group and the response was that if we did that, our food might come at different times. In other words, it was discouraged. Ok, so we let him put it all together which was an annoyance. So on to the food... the coffee was terrible. You'd think a breakfast place would have something like coffee down pat but it was not to be. I ordered an omelette with mushrooms, cheddar and bacon. The mushrooms were from a can which was disappointing. The cheddar cheese looked like the Mexican blend from the grocery store. Husband had the Tooty breakfast. Eggs and bacon were fine but pancakes were pretty tough. Not sure how that happens... Maybe from overmixing? There are so many other options in Rehoboth. Pass on this place...

What a relief to find a place where two grown adults can eat breakfast for under $40. A nice "down home" diner. Arrived about 8am on a Saturday in early October. Only 2 other customers in the place. Service was quick and attentive. Wife got two eggs, bacon, pancakes. The pancakes are small, but you get two of them. $11 I got a "build your own omelette" cheese, ham, and mushrooms. $12 Food was delivered less than 10 minutes and was decent. Had better, had worse. But at least it was affordable and not overpriced like most restaurants in downtown Rehobeth. If I had one recommendation, it would be to turn on some kind of music or radio station. The silence was almost unnerving. I'd go again.

There's is much to be said about expectations. People rely on some notion of what they think a place "should be" rather than what it is. According to reviews, Sammys Kitchen isn't the ideal, expensive resort town fair. That's probably right. What I found is a good diner with a solid affordable breakfast. What you get at Sammys is a diner where the staff talks with its customers with friendliness and for some, familiarity. The ambiance isn't complex, it's a diner. You get the impression that both locals and Rehoboth visitors are treated the same. It's uncomplicated even if you have a 2 1/2 year old. Service was good and friendly on my visit. The food came fast and for the most part was good. That said, you aren't going here for the best coffee in town, but it was hot and with free refills. The eggs weren't fully seasoned but they were cooked correctly. A highlight: the gluten-free pancakes were very good, especially when compared to other local offers. So if you want a normal decent, fast, accommodating, and affordable diner experience, come here.

This place never disappoints! The young man running the operation today was as friendly as could be. We had the pancakes, eggs and toast. The pancakes were great! The blueberry compote was served hot and it was delicious, the poached eggs were perfect. Thanks for being a mainstay in Rehoboth, we will be back!

My family and I had a great experience eating at Sammy's. Sammy himself greeted us and delivered all of our meals, coming back a few mores times to check in on us and to chat. The food is standard, solid diner food, and comes at a great price for the large portions. Between our party of seven, I think we must have ordered at least one of everything on the menu, and there were no complaints! We'll definitely return to Sammy's next year when we visit Rehoboth, as it's a great go-to diner spot with something for everyone.

One of the worst breakfast experience on this trip. Ordered food, the waiter brought my son's meal, and only brought half of mine. Waited 40 minutes, and still didn't get a simple order of pancakes. Save your money, go to McDonald's. Sad to say you'll get a better meal and better service.

Sammys has great pancakes and other options for breakfast and lunch. We were a party of 6 and it took about 30 minutes to get our food Saturday morning at 9:30am. I wouldn't have minded the wait but wish they refilled our coffee/water during that time

Just terrible. Find another place. Small eggs tasted weird and bacon tasted like old grease. Everything is extra.

Chicken Parm was ok, Tuna steak ok... The rest was blend and some borderline yucky! Avoid for dinner if you can.

The line wasn't out the door, but it was busy. I ordered a chai latte and the Rise Up breakfast burrito. My burrito came out in about 10 minutes, but my chai latte took 30 minutes. I understand it's peak season at a beach resort and staffing can be a challenge, but if an establishment cannot provide reasonable timing for orders, they should limit the number of customers they take at once. They continued accepting orders despite clearly being unable to keep up. The gentleman behind me waited 25 minutes with his wife and three children before leaving after paying because he said the wait was "insane," and I agree. For $17.25 for a coffee and a breakfast burrito, the experience was not worth it. Highly recommend avoiding this location during the season. Very disappointed. They can do better.

The results are super fresh right out of the hot oil bath doughnuts full a warmth and strong flavors to excite your tongue. No wonder it is an institution in this part of the world. Their colors are mostly deep pastel, matched by strong flavors that really stand out. Perhaps because we stopped by on a snowy morning in early December, our box of a half dozen warmed my hands as I walked back to the car parked right in front. We drove a ways before opening the lavender box to sample the first ones. We found them soft and friable, so that they were difficult to pick up in one piece. They fell apart on touching, requiring us to remove them carefully to avoid further crumble onto car seats and floor. Should have grabbed more napkins. Still, despite the minor mess, they did excite the tongue due to their strong flavors and uber freshness. Eaten with hot Java as washdown, it was self explanatory why they were so popular and had been around in the same location of Coastal Highway for decades. Ownership still makes and serves the doughnuts, and was happy to shoot the sh*t with this stranger while working the assembly line. These cake dough boys are the real deal. If you're into Duck Donuts and Krispy Kremes, Fractured Prune will definitely float your boat. 5 Sweet Stars
