Extremely disappointed. Came in from out of town with a big party. We were approached by rude service and bad attitude. We placed our order, expecting to wait a bit as we were a larger group. We received our food after one hour. Not to mention, our dishes were cold, one was burnt. Portions were large for the price and the taste was average. Neat, modern, minimalist interior. Bathroom was spacious, clean, smelled nice. The staff was nice, but they would talk to each other by shouting across the restaurant. The restaurant has two levels with lots of tables and booths, but for some reason they sat everyone together. It was freezing, so maybe it was for warmth. DELICIOUS WITH GREAT SERVICE TOO! I had the 16oz rib rye with baked potato, carrots, onions and chicken noodle soup. My wife had the 10 Oz rib eye with shrimp, baked potato, mushrooms, carrots and salad. The steaks were amazingly delicious and cooked perfectly. Great quality steak. Prices ridiculously good. 16.99 for mine and 10.99 for hers. Chicken noodle soup was well seasoned and hearty. Not salty. Baked potatoes cooked through, piping hot, but not overcooked. Carrots were sweet and the fresh bread was just that...so very fresh. Laura our server gave us outstanding attention. The place was very busy, owner's were friendly and hands on. I saw a 1 Star review. Amongst mostly positive reviews. I saw the pictures and told my fiancé we have to try it. It was very good typical breakfast food. I had some amazing Swedish pancakes. Only complaint the bacon is small and thin but still good. Other complaint the have a BAR. That's a positive not a negative. We have passed this restaurant several times driving through town to go on our camping trips. On our return from a week long trip we had the hankering for some diner style food. We decided to try this restaurant Sammy's on the Square. This place was great. Very clean and bright inside and the food was really good. Friendly waitstaff. They made us some delicious chocolate shakes and a malt for our drinks. Some people may not think this next thing is a big deal but I do... the bathrooms were very clean. I hate walking into a dirty or unkempt bathroom but this was not the case here. We will definitely make this our end of camping trip spot from this point forward. read more

This place is near where I grew up and has a FABULOUS reputation with all the folks in the area. I stopped in today for breakfast- chicken fried steak, hash browns, toast and scrambled eggs. The eggs were scorched and rubbery. Every bite of hash brown tasted like rancid oil. I can still taste it in the back of my throat. The toast had a dime-sized spot of butter right in the middle of the slice. My dad seriously eats breakfast here every Saturday. It must've been an off day. I sure hope it was an off day. read more

Food is standard diner fare, staff is very friendly. In typical Wisconsin fashion, there's a lot of food especially for the price. Sandwiches come with salad or soup, fries an optional extra. I had the bacon ranch chicken sandwich (would have preferred real cheese instead of processed cheese) and husband had a bbq burger sandwich. Had high hopes for this restaurant! Soup was great. Dad had chopped steak with gravy. Looked great. Gravy tasted like thick flour. Horrible. Brought it home for the pups and they didn't like it!!! Rib eye steak sandwich was decent. Had with grilled mushrooms and cheese. Except for the excessive fatty bites, the flavor was good. I would get again. Mom got the salad. She thought it was decent. Stopped in with my daughter as she had an appointment in the area. My sandwich and fries were really good but her chicken tenders were overcooked and dry. Thumbs down and thanks to our server whom embarrassed myself and my daughter. We ordered her a kids meal and the server questioned her age(she is just shy of 13) but made us feel like idiots when she put us on the spot. My daughter is also struggling with an eating disorder and does not eat large meals and will also have anxiety attacks with the site of large meals. Then as she was walking off from helping an older couple at another table she walked away swearing even the f word at the couple. Not sure I will visit again due to this server. read more

Blueberry pancakes are the best I've ever had- big- fluffy and full of blueberries. Servers are friendly and food comes quickly but obviously fresh. I just got done ordering for pickup the 16oz ribeye topped with some onion rings, a side of horseradish, baked potato and sour cream, vegetables, a side salad with tomatoes and croutons with a choice of dressing, and a delicious roll and butter. My son got the chicken fettuccine Alfredo with garlic bread! Both were delicious! I ordered an extra baked potato and some coconut pie. My bill was so reasonable! The owners, Sherri and Sammie were so nice, along with the server, Laura, who packed up our to-go order. We should be so thankful to have this little gem right here in the Walworth-Fontana area. Their breakfasts are also superb and very affordable that you could eat here quite often without killing your pocketbook. Lake Geneva gets all the tourists and people are paying big bucks to eat. Let's support our local businesses. Small businesses that survived the COVID shutdown are very lucky. Let's also be a bit more generous in tipping these servers who are out there hustling every day and not sitting at home collecting unemployment with government enhancements. If you like omlets then dont go there. Twice I received burnt brown omelets from Sammys. I specifically asked for the omelet to be cooked and not browned. Our server took back the first one and low and behold the second omelet was burnt too. Game over! read more

Everytime we come for the family reunion in September, we MUST GO to SAMMY'S in the SQUARE in Walworth. It's a short drive from the family's ranchette that we ALL park our RV's and meet up with each other. Every September, like clockwork, we ALL have our meal and reknew our kinship over a potluck meal. Then once I & hubs found Sammy's, (told by those from this area) we should try it out because it's good! This is like your MAMA's awesome cooking! There's been visits (we're from Las Vegas) that we'd find ourselves ALMOST DAILY at Sammy's!!! It's JUST THAT GREAT!!! You really do need to try this restaurant out.
