The waitress was awesome. Very helpful and polite. But she could not overcome the dense and dry waffles. Then there was the still frozen in the middle pre-cooked "fried" chicken :/ Overly sweet and overly breaded and still partly frozen. Yummmy. AT least the chicken strips were real and not pink slime formed to look like chicken parts. The pancakes with Nutella were OK but the 13 year old was critical that there wasn't any Nutella IN the pancake, just on the outside. And ice tea that is weak at best should not cost 2.99. We wont be back because I can spend my 60 dollars for 4 at much better places. read more

This place is the best! My girlfriend and I come here at least once a week. The entire staff is amazing! Every serve and busser go the extra mile to make our dining experience great. Service was extremely poor and almost insulting .was looking forward to brunch with my 9 year old Niece for Memorial Day but did not have a good experience unfortunately . I've been to Sammy's before and enjoyed it , which is such a shame . We went in and were seated promptly near the window. We took a look at the menu and decided on what we were going to order. We waited about 10 minutes and no one acknowledged us , welcomed us and asked if we needed drinks. The restaurant was not terribly busy and seemed to be adequately staffed, but I was being patient as I saw servers tending to their other guests . However, they seated a gentleman next to our booth after us and immediately the server welcomed him and took his drink order. I figured we would be next , but no acknowledgment whatsoever. She came back with his drinks and literally took his order and still did not acknowledge our table RIGHT next to him . Then she came back a third time to clarify something about his order( sounded like he was a regular) . And yet again whisked away. At this point my 9 year old Niece starts to complain ( we had a good laugh about being ignored ) . The last straw is when another party that was seated afterwards put in their drink order. At that point , we got up and left out of frustration. Very disappointed, fortunately the Island's down the street saved the day . It almost felt like we were being ignored on purpose by the staff. We were very polite going in so I cannot imagine why. Very disappointing experience to an otherwise good tasting spot. read more

Ate breakfast here on a Sunday morning. I think if was an old ihop none the less this place is good. Prices are reasonable and service was great. The pancakes were fluffy and tasty. We had strawberry banana pancakes, strawberry crepes, chicken and waffles and a patty melt. Everything came quickly to the table and our server was great! We enjoyed all our dishes but especially the chicken and waffles. The only thing that would have made that dish 5stars would be if the waffle was crispier but the chicken was crisp and tasty. This is our usual Wednesday morning breakfast spot. Great service with a smile. I recommend the chicken omelette and chicken with waffles.

To my surprise this place had Gluten Free Pancakes too, which made the experience even better for me because I am gluten intolerant. Plus the regular pancakes were good also. My dad, (who is a pancake aficionado, like seriously, no one can be more particular about their pancakes) said "they have potential to be the best." He is VERY serious about his pancakes. Lily was our server, she was friendly, warm and welcoming. The hostess was also kind. I felt invited to eat there rather than an inconvenience like other places I've been to. It is a busy place, just fyi. Expect a little bit of a wait to be seated. But overall it was a great experience. I'll definitely be coming back to Sammy's. I was in the area looking for some tasty breakfast and decided to give this place a try.. I ordered chicken and waffles, the waffle was perfectly cooked taste as great as ihop. The chicken i believed had a bit of honey that taste so delicious all together. The servers are really nice and helpful. The young lady that was a host was very kind trying to get us a table soon. I believe my servers name was Lily, she was a very nice server. She was constantly checking up on us making sure we didn't need anything and was very quick serving us . I remember when this was an IHOP. I had no incentive to eat there until I read the Yelp reviews. Gave it a shot on a Saturday morning and was not disappointed in the least. The wait staff is second to none when it comes to fast, polite, and professional service. I ordered the Sammy's Big Breakfast, opting for toast over pancakes. My order came out within a matter of a couple of minutes, cooked to perfection. Sammy's does not lay short on the grub. I was stuffed to the gills when I finally cleaned my plate. The price was quite reasonable, too, better than most other chain-style coffee shops. Thumbs up for satisfying your customers. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! This was the worst food I have had in a long time. The turkey dinner was so disgusting (and food poisoning questionable), the waffle my child received was old, dry and COLD. There were 3 people in this place and we had to wait for the soup and salad. When we asked for it, the server couldn't believe we'd want it before our meal arrived. THEN they couldn't FIND the soup??!?! That tells me this crap is in baggies & cans with no real no cooking and still they screw it up. $52 for crap. I will never step foot in this joke of a restaurant again. My advice, Sammy should cut his losses in the restaurant biz and go into carpet. It would probably taste better read more

UPDATE: SINCE we first visited in Oct 2018 we had made it a practice to go here when the grandkids spend the night and those visits have always been similar to our first experience UNTIL SUNDAY NIGHT. First of all, the place was not crowded - perhaps 3-4 tables of patrons and the service was horrible....both my order as well as my husbands order were delivered incomplete (missing gravy & a dipping sauce). We waited a bit for the waitress to come by but never saw her so my husband finally got up and went to find her to remedy the situation. When he found her she was sitting down eating and she had the audacity to ask him "are you sure"?Its your menu - we just read & expect what it says!Then a bit later, after never having been checked on, we needed a drink refill. I had to yell at her to get her attention as she strolled past our table right after she had delivered food to another nearby table. Not ONCE did she ever come by to see if we needed anything. We didn't eat much of our meals either due to the fact that we really didn't like them and I was greatly surprised that when she brought the check that she didn't notice how full our plates were and at least offer us take home boxes. After this evening's disaster I doubt we will ever return here and would certainly not recommend to anyone! read more

This was the worst place I have eaten. Just how bad can one make with eggs bacon hash browns and toast. My suspicions are that they made all of it a few days ago! The scrambled eggs were so dry and tasteless that you wanted to spit them out. The bacon was practically raw...and when we asked to have it cooked longer , they microwaved it to taste like crap...dry...crumbly...yuk! The rye toast was completely devoid of any butter and tasted like cardboard. The waitress never came to check on us after serving us this horrible food, until we finally had to flag her down. First time. I will definitely be here again and again with my family. My husband ordered the Eggs Benidict and he approved. They make the sauce from a squeeze pack which is muuuucccchhhh better than nasty powder. I ordered the Strawberry and Banana French Toast Combo. Our son got the Mickey Mouse Pancake order, it was the right mix of chocolate chips and batter with cute cherry eyes. Quite large for him at 4, so it would also be a great serving for an older child as well. He ate more than half and has a huge appetite! Plates were all good portions and all were hot and our tables order was ready and brought out together. read more

I'm not gonna lie I'm pretty annoyed. My hubby daughter and I just went for breakfast and it was 50 bucks(before tip)! The kids meal didn't include her 3 dollar (!?) child sized lemonade?! The menu said "bulid your own pancake combo 9.99- just select 1 kind of pancake..." so I picked a pancake and it was extra but didn't say that specialty pancakes were more. And obviously it was almost 3 dollars more. They got my husband's order wrong, I had to catch the server to inform them. Didn't say sorry didn't discount anything, they did bring him the correct meal eventually. The table was so cluttered with everything that we could barely fit our meals on it. (mind you there was only 3 of us at a 4 place table.) they brought me a huge pot of coffee which is a nice gesture but it was just me drinking coffee so it just felt like an excuse to not come to check on us and another bit of clutter on the already tiny table. I am giving 2 stars because the food was ok. The banana pancakes I had were mediocre and the eggs/bacon/hash browns were as expected. The wait was quick for a Sunday morning. read more
