Amazing options people! Sam's has many options for food; breakfast, lunch and dinner. My spouse and I have now tried a variety of dishes, and let me tell you, every one has been great! Every dish has been flavorful, mixed with the right amount of seasonings. Also the amount of food that is provided, is pretty good, more than enough for one person. Customer service also has been great every single time we have ate there or ordered to go. Always greeted with a smile and quick service as well. The times we have gone, we have always been able to find a table but we have gone early mornings. Mornings can also become busy though. It might just depends what time you get there. read more

Came by here Summer of 2025 during my stay at the hotel across the street. I came here with a few friends, walked across the street and got breakfast in the morning. I got a breakfast burrito with ham which was absolutely delicious. The salsa is thick and excellent. My date had the jamaica and I tried the spinach pineapple drink, the jamaica was very strong and sour and the spinach pineapple was especially good and surprisingly refreshing. The prices are a bit high but the portions are pretty big so I don't find it unreasonable. The atmosphere is good, you can tell most of the customers are regulars. Today I stopped by Starbucks to quickly grab two egg white and turkey bacon sandwiches but thought to myself, maybe I should go to a burger place where I can get a steak sandwich instead. So I went online and did the normal "near me" search and let me tell you guys, the steak sandwich was good. Four of us stopped by after watching the Raiders football game across the street at Iguanas. We ordered the family pack cheeseburger deal and upgraded the some fries to chili cheese and onion rings. They have a wide variety of food on their menu which is overwhelming when you think about it. The greasy spoon cheeseburger was pretty good but the patty was thin, a double cheeseburger would be a better choice. So I used to come here as a kid back in the early 2000s and obviously the place has changed but not in a good way you'd expect. Prices went up by so much but they're still serving crummy canned food. For $15 chili cheese fries, I have to assume at least something on the plate is fresh. At least freshly grated cheese? Got a sprinkle of store bought shredded cheese, unmelted, a glop of chili that tasted canned, and fries that were barely fried they were still white. I'm perfectly capable of enjoying some trashy food but this was just pure trash. I didn't bother ordering anything else as we noticed the grill (assuming where they make the burgers and stuff) looked dirty and kind of rusted. Probably should be switched out for something newer... match the 2020s standard if you're going to be charging these modern prices. Got rid of the arcade room which was a fun little spot but there are two machines near the bathrooms. Galaga and some other game. Signs don't look updated. Still got the old school coke logo and everything. Late 90s style, which is pretty cool. Place is completely dead although we came on a Monday night so probably not a day we'd find it bumping. Plenty of parking. Cashier was nice, young lady, didn't really talk much. It seems the Mexican dishes are more popular so we probably just ordered the complete wrong thing but still. I was a little bit hesitant to come here but we tried it anyways especially because they accept EBT. It was a great pleasure to have homemade Mexican food! Menudo was great portioned for its price. Caldo des res and pollo are also yummy , I personally added a little more salt but that's my own preference. The waitresses we have encountered are extremely kind and patient ! I love this place! They are better than Jim's and Tams. There steak, egg, and hash brown plates are highly recommended. I also love their grill catfish that comes with the beans and rice. Went for breakfast. They reduced the eggs from three to two. Surcharges for the two eggs. Dropped from four sausages to three also. Cashing in on the egg shortage thing I guess. Makes their breakfast plate look even smaller now. Wasn't worth the time I spent to get to this place. Sooooo good, the breakfast is a must we go weekly. On Sundays we get the menudo, the steak quesadilla, the French toast special, the chile verde con huevos, the fried taqueria, the chicken soup, the beef soup, I've even tried the chicken salad and it's all good, very homemade and hearty. I have been going to this establishment since 1986 when I moved to Downey! The business is getting worse and worse! I ordered pancakes over easy eggs today the pancakes are rubbery in the over easy eggs are not over easy yolks are dry.... Returning the order is not resolving the issue gas is close to six dollars a gallon. My health requires me to take medication with food in the morning there for bringing the food back in getting a new order. It's really bothers them to me. About 3 years ago I received a half of a order of zucchini, fries;'( Another situation a year ago I went there to get a Polia meal and the chicken was anorexic and it appeared that the pieces were cut and part of the meat was cut off. I have lived down the street from this restaurant for over 15 years and we used to eat from here at least twice a week. I haven't eaten here for a few years now. My daughter and I ate here on Tuesday. I got a chicken plate. The chicken was good but the fries were terrible. Some tasted like they had been sitting a while and some where undercooked. Today I got a chicken burrito. The chicken was so dry that some pieces were barely edible and some were not edible at all. I will not spend anymore money here. The good is trash. read more

Love this place, family owned and operated, always great customer service on our weekend breakfast trips. It's our local go to spot for weekend breakfast, the customer service is great and food is hearty and delicious. You'll always find the patriarch of the family and his family members manning various stations at the restaurant. This is not to say they're unorganized but rather that no task is beneath any of them. Try out anything on their menu, you have many choices, they serve traditional breakfast like pancakes, sausage and eggs but also a variety of Mexican breakfast options.
