Hello everyone, I work in Norwalk. Four weeks ago. The optometry I work for, their water went out. Which meant I couldn't use the restroom in the building. I thought if I went to Burger Basket across the way. They would understand. Unfortunately, when I went inside to explain I needed to use the restroom. There was this Asian worker who works there. She said no. If I can provide proof of work to show I work for the optometry that's across the street. I have my scrubs on. No name tag because I never got one. But not willing to show my paystubs to show proof of employment. I was told by a coworker that they would be nice enough to do so. Since, a similar situation happened years ago before I joined the clinic. Unfortunately, I won't be going back to Burger Basket because of that experience. I wanted to try to stay close to my job so if they needed me. I am close by. But I had to drive to Target to use the restroom. Luckily, the day after the water was turned on. My experience wasn't the greatest there. read more

You get the diner feel as soon as you walk in. This is a good spot for breakfast or when you're in the mood for some short grilled foods like a burger or other diner favorites. Make sure to read for the combos and specials and save some cash (does anyone use cash anymore?). The breakfast burritos (with your choice of fillings) are a good option with everything packed in a nice full tortilla. I like that they serve both home fries and hash browns (take your pick). Ordered their Pancho Breakfast Burrito for about 14 bucks. It was jammed pack with ham, sausage, bacon and chorizo with avocado, jalapeno and sour cream. Very filling and tasty for the most part, but the ingredients weren't evenly dispersed, so not all bites were enjoyable. It made the meal feel like it wasn't entirely worth it. Kind staff and clean location with indoor/outdoor seating. They have good prices for their cheeseburgers, I'll come back to try that next time! Tip: Parking is located in the back. read more

Not as good as big kahuna burger but I gotta say it is a tasty burger. it's your average neighborhood burger spot just like all the rest, but the food is good. The people that work here are always really friendly and nice. The ambience is really cool,kickback and mellow chill Place. they make all kinds of different things , like chicken teriyaki, Mexican plates , burritos of different meats . burgers and sandwiches. Still rocking great service! This morning's get was a breakfast bacon burrito with jalapeños & hash browns (you have to ask for these on every breakfast dish or else you get the default house potatoes). A local gem that offers a large selection of diner-style food items. Our family has been coming here for 20+ years and I was excited to come back to get the chili cheese fries and onion rings. The interior of the location is much nicer with a clear visible menu display about the register. We ordered our usuals for Togo and although the food came out promptly we found that the quality of the food we were used to having for years seemed off tonight. I did see in other reviews that the location is under new management and perhaps that might be the reason but just felt like the food didn't hit the spot like usual. read more

BEWARE!! they give refried fries!!! I really like this local restaurant and like supporting small businesses. This is the 3rd time i get home and get very dissatisfied when i see the fries. They are big portion but refried. Ate only couple of fries of the whole bag. They were hard stale and greasy. I had mentioned this to them before and thought they would stop refrying the fries! But NO! Not sure if i will be going back. They also have different cooks all the time and food is made differently each time. I got a chicken wrap that normally has dressing inside. Got home and no dressing. Didnt think I had to ask for it since usually it comes in it already. I was able to deal with that. While searching for a local place to get a good breakfast burrito, we came across Burger Basket. Not too far from us, small local business, good reviews, let's check it out. When arriving, there is parking in the rear, and on that small side street. There is no direct parking in front. There is plenty of space for parking. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating, reminiscent of a local hangout...It's not top of the line decor, but it's pretty homely. Inside, there are a few tv's so that you have something to entertain yourself while chowing down. There are a few kid's toys there too to try to keep them entertained and not bouncing off the walls. Alcohol is served here, so it goes well with your food when a game is on. The menus are a bit outdated, and is ever changing, so you'd have to check with them for real time prices. I will say that the past few times i've been there...they do not offer the machaca breakfast burritos as of October 2023. We've been coming back because we're loving the sausage breakfast burritos and the sausage breakfast sandwich. Good taste and very filling!!! They also have pretty good chili cheese fries, but the chili does have a good kick to it. I suffer..but in a good way! If you want a quick and tasty bite, and with friendly service from the staff, this is the place to go! read more

Needed a fast lunch before the day's errands and good ole Burger Basket came through again. The service was excellent and the food was served piping hot and full of flavor. The sausage burrito had a twist: the potatoes were seasoned up with cumin and chili pepper, possibly chorizo, I was not mad at it. Added a new depth of flavor with the melted cheese, sausage and scrambled eggs. The chicken strips w/fries basket was fried up to perfection and seasoned generously. Burger Basket deserves more recognition in Norwalk's food game. I prefer it over Tam's. read more

We went here with a group after a "date" at the Norwalk Courthouse. The prices are great and they have so many selections to choose from, plus breakfast is available all day. They even have beer on draft! The avocado cheeseburger combo was so delicious and the food portion and fries are so good! The service is quick and the employees were friendly and helpful. There's plenty of seating with tables inside and an outdoor patio. I highly recommend this spot for great, local home style burgers. read more

I came here with my children to eat and was totally turned off by the Asian cashier. I bought over $40.00 of food and kindly asked her for a cup of water. She turned down my request saying no cup for water but she had cup for $2.50 for a cup of soda mostly just ice. A complete turn off and gouge. I'm a diabetic and prefer water. So disappointed in Burger Basket at how they treat their customers. God forbid you need water if you're choking, they'll let you die for a measly cup of water. Just letting the community know that this place don't care for their reputation, profit before courtesy. I only wanted a cup of water. Not much to ask for. read more

Came to my one if my favorite spots in Norwalk. Updated look, since the last time I visited. Delicious chili cheese fries. One of the best in norwalk. They have other offerings as burgers, fries, burritos, etc. Overall, it's a solid spot ever since I used to come with my dad when I was a kid. They also have an outside covered patio if you don't want to eat inside. I believe new management has taken over but not 100 percent sure. Hopefully, with a spruced up look, this establishment will last another 30 years of my life. read more

Ordered through Uber eats. Fries, zucchini and bacon cheese burger. Let me say the bag of fries and zucchini was soaking with grease and steam. On top of that the quantity was very small. About 8 zucchini's and the fries didn't even make it to the top of the fry bag. Next the burger not to bad but when I bit into it the lettuce was bad (see pics). No quality control. This place has been around since I was in high school and is still going strong. I came back to the old neighborhood as my son had a baseball tournament. I recommended this place to a few others and we all ended up eating here. I was a little nervous telling all, as it has been a hot minute but the food was still amazing, and slightly better as the menu options appeared as if they were a little healthier. They were short staffed but the service was still great. Only Jenky thing was there was a homeless guy who appeared as if he worked there as he was asking us to clean up outside ...nice guy but a little weird. Always a good experience when we come here. The owner is so friendly and welcoming. Hubby and I came in for a late breakfast/lunch date around 12:40pm today and it was not too bad. I ordered the French toast with extra bacon and over easy eggs. Hubby got the chicken beef teriyaki plate with a salad and ranch. Everything came out fairly quickly and was very delicious. Honestly the burger was good but the sauce they use is trash. The 1000 island is so bad. Makes the burger taste not good. We got 4 burgers and we didn't like it. We paid 45 bucks plus they charge for that 1000 island and I regret it because it was so bad. We only ate half of the burger. Their fries are good. Service was good too. It's a chill spot, plenty of parking. But yeah just the sauce ruined the food for me. They need to either change the sauce or don't add it to the burger. read more

This used to be my favorite spot to walk too and get food to go, I had been coming here for nearly 7 years. They younger guy whose a cook and handles cashier is normally friendly until he started asking questions on if I'm hanging out by myself and what I'm up too, as soon as I mentioned I was have a day off with my boyfriend his entire energy shifted to being cold and short. I just ignored it, but when I came by once more he was still very cold, and tried charging me for ranch when he'd always give me the ranch for free. I just find it funny how me mentioning I'm with my boyfriend led him to start acting unprofessional. Ever since Burger basket changed ownership the food prices have gone up and the food quality and quantity has gone down. I paid $14 for not even half of the amount of pastrami you would get at another restaurant. Their burgers are dry and teriyaki plates have less of everything.
