After coming, I looked on their IG page and saw a bunch more flavors featured that would've been fun to try. Oh well. I ended up going the most basic route with a small vanilla soft serve. It was ready for me when I pulled up to the inside. The vanilla soft serve was delicious! I'm used to "lighter" soft serves from the fast food chains, but the ice cream here is creamier and more dense, which I absolutely loved. It felt like it had more substance to it. Plus you can't beat the price! It was only $3.50 for a small, which was already very large.

Good news! Just called Sam's on a whim and was advised it is, indeed, still open as usual. I checked it out and the only change I could see was some new faces for the server staff. This is a problem for me as my favorite server is gone and she was not even given any offer to stay. I fear it's a case of letting senior staff go to higher less experienced, cheaper help. I don't like that management style, but life goes on. Otherwise, the casual customer won't notice any changes at all as the kitchen looks the same. There's that. read more

Fantastic breakfast spot! Stopped by Sam's Café during a visit to Half Moon Bay and was blown away by the food and service. The huevos rancheros were packed with flavor--perfectly cooked eggs, rich and savory sauce, and just the right amount of spice. The chorizo Benedict was equally impressive, with a deliciously smoky chorizo, perfectly poached eggs, and a creamy hollandaise that tied everything together. We were a little too full after the breakfast but it was worth carrying the extra weight up 2,800' of climbing.
