This Sam's Club is not as close as the Sanford one, but closer than the MetroWest one, both of which we've been to. Yesterday, when other business took us out this way, we thought we'd give it a shot, and I'm glad we did. My wife says it looks 'cleaner' than the one in Sanford - I can't agree or disagree, and we were outside walking in as she says that. It was not crowded on a Wednesday afternoon (Sam's Clubs are seldom as packed as Costcos). We were just going to casually look around, get a couple of items and go, but look what we've discovered! I've always given them higher marks for the beautiful convenience of their app: even more than the convenience of having ALL your receipts in one place, we have their almighty Scan and go! I mean, if Progressive is going to do a bunch of ads on their stupid 'Name your price' non-tool tool, then Sam's should trumpet this from the rooftop if they want to steal customers and/or business from Costco, against whom they are probably fighting a losing battle. If you didn't know, SnG allows you to scan your purchases, right from the cart (if you buy so much that the cart is 5-products deep in any given square inch, it won't work as well); you then pay from your phone, show your code as you exit, at which time they do the usual 3-item check like they do with everyone exiting... and away you go! Well as great as SnG is, we discovered another benefit on this visit. For the first time, we noticed several items (they were all produce) that had a SUBSTANTIALLY lower price when you use SnG: sugar snap peas (24 oz.) and Sapphire grapes (3 lbs) were both one whopping dollar off when using SnG. Both of these items were super-low priced to begin with; but with that $1 (roughly 30% reduction), it was a bargoon and a half. Made our day! So the next time you're in Sam's, check that out. If you're not a member, and calling belonging to both Costco and Sam's Club "stupid" (I used to), know that there are all kinds of deals out there which allows you to basically get the first year's membership for free. As I said in my other review, we used to scoff at Sam's, but since belonging, we've found that their selection is definitely greater, and their prices, comparable, better, or MUCH better, in certain cases (like when they had that Whitehaven S.B. for $6.71, when Costco was selling it for $15.99, par exemple). But you have to pay attention, and know your prices. read more

Not a big fan of Wal Mart but LOVE Sam's Club. The Apopka location is close to my house and even better they have pick up and gas. It is nice to be able to place an order and pick it up on the way home from work. If you are a Sam's club member, I highly suggest getting gas from Sam's. At this location I have seen gas prices far less cheap than the 7-11 across the road. Since COVID I have noticed that their regularly stocked items are sometimes out of stock. They do keep their website/app up to date with current stock which is nice to know before going in. Also, the parking can be tricky they are very busy on the weekend and their location is at a busy intersection. I have never had an issue with parking but just plan to make trip of it. Honestly, I am I happy I dropped by Costco membership and became a member at Sam's read more

Went for the first time even though this location has been open for roughly ten years. I've always used Costco just because it was before this location. They had a special offer which gave $100 to join and open a credit card. I found the store clean, the staff friendly, and it wasn't really busy like Costco. A lot of the stuff is the same, similar or whatever. Occasionally you find stuff which is not offered at Costco, but I think also Costco has more choices overall. I like the pre-scan stuff with your phone. It saves a lot of time and allows you to avoid having to go through the check out. I however found some of the food not up to par. I decided to try their sushi, yes, I know, sushi from a non-legit sushi master is like eating mud rather than steak, but I wanted to try it. The sushi was ok, but not great and had too much rice. Also, the daughter wanted the cream cheese muffins. They were dry and did not have any flavor. This isn't a big deal, but I found it fairly normal for these types of stores. Costco isn't any better. Overall it was a good experience and we will use the store more often because Costco can't give us everything we need. read more

The lines can get long and I wish I could use the self check area for business purchase order transactions. Plenty of parking and fairly easy to get in and out with the corner location. read more

This is a new location for Sam's and I really enjoy this location. It is kept very clean and the staff is always very friendly and helpful when I stop in. Our most recent visit has us there on Memorial day so they had put out cupcakes for any Vet's that were in the store that day with staff there to talk to them and thank them for their service. Great gesture! We were able to get in, get all that we needed for the day, and checked out very quickly. They had about 6 registered opened (plus self check out) so even if it was a little busy the lines never got too long. read more

I shop at this Sams often. We went in today for eyeglass fitting for my husband. The team in the optical center were A+. They were knowledgeable and friendly. They also answered all our questions and were awesome at making sure all COVID precautions were followed. I would definitely recommend. read more

Not a huge fan of the "Big Box" stores, but this place is amazing! Okay, everything is industrial size, but man, they have EVERYTHING! My car is actually sitting in the parking lot on a dead battery. Wife and I were going to do a trial membership to buy the battery but I was told we're not allowed to buy a battery with a trial membership; thanks. On top of that, they won't install it due to the position. One of the most popular model cars and they won't install a battery I buy from them. Please fix the contracted operation at your phone kiosk. I went to an Orlando location, only to find out the phones I was after were at your location. So after a 30 min drive I arrive to find the lone rep at the kiosk, 5 (30 min) appointments behind. Although you DID have what I needed, there was no way for me to get the items in a timely (under 2 hour) manner Since your phone tech was swamped over his head and had no cavalry coming to the rescue. They have the best prices on gas, 9 times out of 10. The lines can back up though, so try to go at off times/days. The inside of the store is fine, I like it better than other Sam's locations I have been to. I wait every month for their instant savings to come out and usually stock up on items then. They have great prices for over the counter medications. Meats like chicken breasts and ground beef are usually some of the best prices out there. Warehouses are great places to stock up on items that you always need like laundry or dish detergent. Parking here is slightly better than the Sanford location, which is next closest to me, but Apopka always has better gas prices for some reason. You can usually find a deal on Groupon to become a member at a lower rate, so check that out as well. read more

Was turned away at 9:51 am and told I couldn't come in until 10 am. Was denied using the restroom as well, so I left and decided not to give Sams Club any money today. I wasn't trying to "scam" the system and honestly had forgotten the "gatekeeper" crap and limits on my membership prior to 10am.... Not really sure this location isn't open before 10 am on Sundays! I have seen them doing curbside pick up an hour before the stores open ! I haven't ever seen any store I have shopped doing curbside before regular store hours ! Also there are almost next no perks plus members ! People work on Saturdays , Sundays should be an option as well ! If they can curbside they can let plus members in at least an hour before the store opens ! Extremely disappointed. read more

I am so happy to have a Sams club close to home. I love the selection they have in everything from household items to produce. The seasonal isle is my favorite, right up front christmas decorations or tents during the summer. You do need a membership to shop here but it is well worth it. I save alot of money buying my laundry detergent and household cleaning supplies here. The meat deals are great and I always find new products I love by trying the free samples. Ive never had an issue with lines here as they move pretty fast and they also have a scan as you go app where you pay right on your phone no need for lines at all. The food in the food court is not the best. I have tried the pizza and chicken sandwich and but have been very disappointed. The pizza crust was soggy and greasy, very unappetizing. The chicken patty was ok but will most likely never get again. Great place to shop but I do recommend you skip the food court. read more

I absolutely love shopping at Sam's Club now that they have the shopping app. I literally scan with my phone, put the item in my cart, and pay through my phone. We were glad to see a Sam's Club closer for those of us in Apopka (although I must say it was so sad that they cut down all the beautiful trees on this corner!). We went here on opening weekend to check it out and had a great experience. We've been back a handful of times since and have always found the place clean and well stocked. We've never had to wait long to checkout and have be pleased with their baked goods (birthday cakes are a great deal here!). Prices are sometimes comparable to Publix (avocados for example are actually much cheaper at Aldi) My one complaint is that some items come and go. You may try something you really like then never see it again. This happened to us when we bought a delicious garlic butter that we have not seen again. What's the point? read more

So I've been trying to get a job at this location and so far not a good impression on the company I don't really think I want to work at sams at all . I'll call and set up interviews just for it to be canceled a day before . I just went in today for my interview with produce at 2:30 3:00 a clock goes by while an associate tries to locate any manager for me apparently all the managers left for the day and tells me to come back tomorrow and I have a job currently I can't keep leaving work early to come to sams just to not talk to anyone . I'm just a fan of Sam's, period. This store is large, clean, fully stocked, and the employees at check out were very helpful. The only thing that gave me a sad is that there were 6-8 motorized wheelchairs & none were charged so I had to push my mom around in the regular one. No biggie, but I'm uber-clumsy so she was sweating bullets the whole time hoping I didn't ram her into a pallet of canned goods, lol. read more

I'm a Costco guy, so I had to be drawn into Sam's Club. In the past, the Sam's that I've been to seemed dated and disorganized. I'm happy to say this Sam's Club has the feel of a Costco while retaining all the uniqueness it can offer. Here, you can get fresh squeezed orange juice daily. The prices are quite competitive. Gas outside is quick and easy. The biggest game changer though is that Sam's scan and go app. Cue that bad boy up on your phone, scam items as you go, and proceed to the exit. No need to wait in any lines, they just scan your receipt on your phone and you are on your way out. Honestly, Costco needs to step it up with this kind of app. read more

Vision Center Justin Hatfield is amazing. I went in with a prescription from an outside doctor. Justin went above and beyond to help me understand the insurance side and explained the different coatings and options when ordering my glasses. He did not try to sell me a bunch of stuff I didn't need and helped me figure out the best deal. He helped me get such a good deal that I ended up ordering prescription sunglasses also. If you go to the vision center, definitely see Justin. read more

This review is for the auto mechanic only, the rest of the store staff has been great! So polite and helpful. The one mechanic on the other hand is awful. We called to see if they had a truck battery in stock, nice associate checked and said yes we have one in stock, but call when you're on your way bc it's first come first served. Lie #1: when my husband called a few hours later to make sure it was still there, a different (very rude) mechanic said no it's on back order, can't get one. When we arrived at the store, 10 minutes later and saw the battery sitting there ready to be bought and installed, he made up an excuse that it must've just been put there in the 10 minutes between his phone call and arriving at the store..sure, that's believable. So we buy the battery, pay to have him install it. Lie #2: He calls 5 minutes later and says we need to come back right now bc the truck is on fire. We panic and go rushing back over there only to find that the truck is NOT on fire. It's common for a car battery that is no longer working to have a small amount of smoke. There was a very small stream of smoke, less than a cigarette butt would make. I said, "Where's the fire?!" He said, "I'm not touching it, it's on fire." I asked him to show me where it's on fire. He couldn't bc it was NOT on fire. I asked him what I should do, is it safe to take the battery out? He told me he's not touching it and I need to call the fire department. Ummm ok, I'm not calling the fire department and wasting resources when THERE IS NO FIRE. When I asked him if it's safe for us to take the battery out ourselves since he refused to help, he told me he doesn't care, I can do it if I want to, it's "not his problem." I said well we're stuck here in front of your auto shop so it is a problem, I don't know what to do, is it safe to tow it home? His words exactly, "not my problem, you're not blocking anything for me, I can close my gate, I don't care what you do." Needless to say my husband watched a YouTube video and changed the battery on his own. It was not on fire. There was no hazard. The guy just wanted any reason not to work and do his job. Please think twice before choosing them as your mechanic. read more

If price gouging is illegal, then shouldn't supply hoarding also be??? The Sam's Clubs in Florida have put a 2 case limit per member, and have people lining up at 5am for a 7am open, in which they've been selling out within the first hour! I saw a truck arrive this evening around 7pm when I went to check on their supply, so I drove to the back and asked a driver if he had waters on his truck. He informed me that his truck didn't, however he did see where they had water, and showed me a back door to go in to. He stated that he had seen other cars pull up and get water; mind you I was in the loading dock area. I decided to go back inside the store and inquire with an associate; the gentlemen was pleasant and helpful and when I told him what the driver stated, he immediately rushed to the back to check. I followed! And as you can see from the photos, what I found! This particular associate had at least 10 cases on this cart. (Yet the limit is 2!!??) As I waited to ask the manager about getting some cases as well, my mother witnessed her unloading cases to another car then taking her own. Now I understand associates don't have the same chance to shop because they're working but we ALL have jobs to get to, and not everyone can wait in a 2hour long line at 7am, to maybe get water. Besides the LIMIT is 2!!! So I need Mr. Jonathan Van Pelt, the club manager, to let me know when to pull around back for my cases! read more

I was very disappointed in the food court, I went with my father. We had both got a pizza, which was burnt pretty much black. I asked if we could trade the slices and he guy had told us "we burnt everything today" they did not even have any sprinkle on cheese, or utensils in the food court.
