I am becoming a Sam's fan I still prefer Costco for a lot of things but Sam's has gotten it figured out with the scan and go option. That might single handedly be the best shopping option ever given at a wholesale store no lines no waiting just scan while shopping and go it's amazing. As a whole Sam's Clubs are great- if you can figure a grocery routine and get most things in bulk it's amazing how much money you can really save. I will say this South Lakeland location is not in the nicer category of Sam's Clubs. I just feel it could be a little cleaner and better organized, but you can still get the job done just fine here. I would warn to not come here on the weekends if you have the option, it's absolute madness. And, check your app to use the "scan and go" option if you haven't- you can scan all your groceries yourself right off your phone and pay so you don't have to wait in line for a checkout register! So, so clutch. Also, don't sleep on the clothes they have here, sometimes you can really find some gold for great prices! I got this cute oversized Stitch jacket a few years back for like $20 that I still wear a lot. read more

I really like this Sam's Club location! I like that they offer gas for cheaper prices. They have a large variety of frozen foods. Also, they have all the household staples. They have a great vitamin and over the counter remedies section. They have a nice food court where you can get a drink and a hot dog for a great deal. The only problem is the parking is a challenge. I don't recommend going on weekends. It's a great store and the staff are friendly. read more

T-Mobile offers specials on multiple businesses Sam's Club being one. It is a $20.00 Tuesday New members or members that have not renewed in more than 6-months. We did not renew almost 3-years ago. Tried to join on was told I needed to do it in person at the club When we got there I was told their system still showed me as a member and there is no way of allowing the special they were offering. Customer service experience was abysmal. I called on 10/9/25 to let them know I had lost my membership card in their store and to find out if anyone could use it to make purchases... the young lady answered my question brusquely and when I told her that was the information I needed and "thank you", she just hung up.... No "Thank you for being a Sam's customer"... no "I am grateful I could answer your question".... Not even a "Kiss my butt"....Having been in customer service industry all my life, this treatment of customers would result in a performance improvement plan being written... I am confident that I'm not the first one this young lady has treated this way... Sam's Club is known for valuing its members, but this experience did not reflect that....I hope management addresses this issue and reminds their customer service staff their interactions with customers MUST BE handled with greater professionalism and respect. read more

I have placed several orders to our local Sam's club and never had an issue until this order. I placed an order for 3 in stock items and it took over 5 days for the order to be delivered. It was shipped from Jacksonville even though the items were in stock at our local store. I am very disappointed and disgusted at this level of service. When the items were finally delivered the delivery person didn't even speak English and was in a rush to move on. I am skeptical about ever ordering again. Walmart and Amazon orders made the same day were delivered in hours. read more

Had a business membership for over years when they suddenly decide to cancel that form of membership completely and replace it was base and plus levels. This means I can no longer go at 7 a.m. unless I cough up another $70. That wouldn't have upset me had I receive warnings; however, I had just renewed my business membership two weeks earlier and was no told nothing about a future upgrade requirement. Didn't find out until showing up at 7 one morning and getting turned away unless I paid $70 more. Called corporate and got the usual runaround and a refusal to refund my money because I had shopped there on time after renewing under the old plan. I never went back -- period. 10 months later I get a letter asking for renewal along with a phone call to follow. Told the caller my story about being shafted. Their response? "Okay, we'll cancel your membership". Can't wait for Costco or BJs to move into town! read more

a staff member told me he wasn't selling soda at the cafe, even though I saw people with cups walking around. I told my kids to get a soda bottle and I'd get them a cup to share. this staff member proceeded to argue with me as to why I needed to have a cup, then yell at me telling me I was disrespectful when I took the cup. he took it back from me and threw it in the trash. He then yelled at me that if I wanted a cup I'd need to go find management and they would get me a cup. I don't pay a membership fee to be treated that way. I will never be back here read more

I always use the app to checkout when shopping for my self but when I'm doing an Instacart order, the checkout is horrendous. They have 8 self checkout lines and only 1 person working on them, when every machine has some type of issue. What's the point of the self checkout if the machines constantly break and cause massive pileups. read more

I was sad because at Costco I can buy seaweed in bulk, but I didn't see any here. We were able to buy everything on the app and skip the line which was super convenient! I recommend buying your tampons here instead of any other place-- $15 for 96. Overall it was a good experience. One downfall is we were short for time and the line to get gas was too long to wait. read more

Yes, you might see a pushy salesperson on occasion (pro tips: don't make eye contact, look at your phone). my husband & i went to sam's club in lakeland florida... bought 2 beach towels less then a month ago.. i was drying my hands on this beach towel, which is nice i love beach towels cause i am 6'3 . as i was drying my face , my finger went right though this towel... i was shocked my finger went thur this towel... so i looked at tag on towel it said members mark. 100% cotton. i want the ceo to call me . i called sam's club the person on the phone wasn't in the united states.. she was saying something about a sofa i wanted but now its out of stock... but thats ok.. i was talking about this bveach towel... and then she said she couldn't hear me.. this is uncalled for..this towel. to rip up soooo fast.. all the members of sam's club will see this review... We shop here once a month and stock up on staples.I always get meat here and bag it in smaller portions and freeze. The lamb chops and kuerig coffee pods are the best deal here! I love shopping here especially at Christmas! I get lots of great deals that time of year and it's fun to see the new seasonal products. read more

Sam's Club has done a lot to improve their customer experience. They have improved their app, for starters; you can now actually check-in and notify store staff when arriving to pick up your orders. Additionally, you can notify them via messaging. Their app does allow you to scan and buy as you go when in-store so you don't have to wait in line or deal with a faulty scan-gun at self-checkout. Also, they have added a dedicated queue at Customer Service (Member Services) for order pick-up. read more

Store is neat, clean and well stocked, but employees are slooooowest ever. It just took the service desk 50 minutes to renew a membership. Last time I came here I had to wait an hour and a half for someone to get a case of gloves down from the top of a shelf unit. Lots of staff walking around, but only a few doing any work. read more

I made the mistake of going into the south Lakeland Sam's store today. I picked up what I needed, that they actually had, and then the fun began. Their computers wouldn't read my card so I went to customer service. The customer service with ONE employee! Nothing was resolved because the employee and the two employees who showed up to have a gabfest never could figure out what the issue was. I swear by all that is holy Sam's hires the least educated, most illiterate people that can find. If I had been told one more time that the employee "ain't seen nuthin' wrong" I would have vomited! This Sam's Club is okay. It's newer and therefore cleaner. It sports the same pushy customers, tasting stations and backed up registers as other Sam's Clubs. Plan on using cash or check--or they accept their OWN credit card only. Finding help on the floor is a rarity. You've really gotta watch their "deals" as sometimes the prices are better elsewhere. (Coke products is an example.) They have a nice little pizza and hot dog cafe at the front of the store (sometimes with lines that render it useless). Great place for large well-priced selection of bakery goods, wines. Great cheap rotisserie chickens. The gas station here is NEVER cheaper than stations around town and not advertised along the road for convenience to compare. The parking lot is a beast--parts on a hill and two entire lanes for the handicapped. If you see a cart in the parking lot, grab it and bring it in...sometimes they are out of carts up close. read more

If ignorance is bliss? The majority of fine folks who work at this SAMS are totally blissed-out! Smacking their chewing gum while attempting to NOT give you customer service via arguments and disagreements sans any form of professional apologies....is what you'll experience. And if consistency of shopping and customer service is what you desire? Yes, you'll get treated that way on a regular on-going basis. The lines are usually long and slow, the cashiers look and act like they loathe their job (or maybe it's us, the customers who they truly wish were not present?) and there is usually an utter lack of giving any type of pleasant exchange - unless of course you appreciate grunts and a little to no affirming eye contact and meaningless smiles while you're handing over a large wad of money that keeps their paychecks running steady. If you like swimming with sharks, dive right in to the Sams Club tank! You can sneak and around and pretend they won't see you, but they have a thirst for blood and won't stop until they sink their teeth into your flesh. These sharks are company's that Sams allows to feed on the prey of the Sams customer already in the tank. One shark sells water purification, another sells magic detergent, and another wants to come to your house and measure your windows. The sharks say, "you paid for this benefit by being a member. " The truth is the sharks have paid Sams to prey on its members. Unfortunately Sams is close to my house and with the scan and go feature I can be in and out quick. I dodge the sharks by receiving real and convincing phone calls when they approach. So Sams , great job, by planting sharks in the tank I leave quicker and spend less. The lingering I previously had done caused me to spend more money. Now I just zip in and out with the fear I'm being chased by a bloodthirsty animal. read more

The store is Nice and neat but that is as far as it goes. The products are usually priced incorrectly and this is where the nightmare of getting your item for the correct price comes into to play with their good ol' customer service. Customer service is absolutely ridiculous. The manager is a non-helpful meanie who doesn't need to work in customer service. Our closest Sam's. We go two or three times a month. Our experience on returning items is good. The self check out lines are a plus. Many times the meat case needs to be restocked, but that depends on the time of day. We usually stop at Sam's in other places when on vacation so this location I rate as about average. read more

I live on South side of Lakeland and have to drive to North side to get my 5 gallon water refilled :( And neither of their stores carry the Members Mark 4 gallon water jugs.. If you go to the photo department be prepared to encounter extremely rude, snippy and incompetent employees. I ordered my Christmas cards here last year and figured it was only bad luck on my part that I had to deal with a grumpy employee. But one year later... I know this is just how they are. This morning i encountered three sams employe ladies behind photo counter standing there gossiping. Saw me at the counter and continued to totally ignore me. I tried to get their attention and they said they weren't open until 10. I left. Totally annoyed. So business members do you not get early hours access benefits in photo dept. Plus Neither did the Fuji photo machines work. for the USB has been broken for a year. Dealing with employees here is even worse than Walmart if you can imagine. read more

The terrible, no one to help you, everybody working there looks sad and they hate their job, the selection of products was just ok for bulk buying. Wish Costco was closer let's just put it that way.
