The staff is very friendly, always have great experiences with management and able to use the scan and go for groceries and gas as well. I spent half an hour filling my cart with groceries. When I went to check out, my membership had expired. The clerk would not/ could not give me the membership I wanted. She said it was a "downgrade". I would have to go wait in the customer service line which was 10 deep. Had to walk out with my cart full of groceries remaining behind. Tire and battery is rude and unorganized. Terrible customer service. Jason has the worst attitude, did not want to help us. We made an appointment with their desk person for 10am, we get there early and he tells us that the call center overbooked them and he can't do the tire installation, despite an appointment. I ask for a manager, instead he brings me Sandy the desk lady who denied helping me make the appointment the day prior. We decided to leave and give our business somewhere else. I recently went to buy a sale item (a fully cooked prime rib). When I arrived I couldn't find it and asked an employee for help. She took me to a small end cap and informed me that they are all sold out. No more would be arriving even though the sale date was still open. She told me in her 13 years at Sam's Club, this item always sells out fast and they won't give rain checks. In summary this was a teaser promotion to get people in the store without providing enough product that years of experience indicates is needed. Previously they discontinued a queso my family really enjoyed. Intentionally wasting my time and the $110 annual fee guarantees I won't be coming back. read more

I have been to a Sam's Club several years ago just to check out their merchandise and see how the prices compare to Costco. For the most part they were in line with each other. I was in need of a 12 pack of playing cards which Sam's club had in stock. Not being a club member , I was hoping the club policy would let me in with a day pass to check out the club and see if I wanted to join. After going up to customer service I was told the only way I could come into the club was to join. I was in need of the playing cards so I did join the club. Since being a Costco member for over 20 years, doing another comparison shop through Sam's Club , in my opinion Sam's Club doesn't have the quality products and services that Costco displays. Yes we need one in Prescott badly. Great selection, good deals on staple items and different items than Costco. Decaf coffee pods are the best deal anywhere. Their chicken pot pies are better and lower priced than Costco. Where Costco has little competition they take advantage. How is it that I can purchase heating pellets for 25% less at Home Depot? We have memberships at both Costco and Sam's club. Personally I feel like we get more out of our Costco membership than our Sam's membership, but I know other people may feel differently. Sam's club does not seem to have quite the selection that Costco does. But we did find a lot of things today that were very interesting and fun to look at. And we made two purchases. We bought a Kitchenaid mixer and a clock that I really fell in love with . I'm not sure if we will renew our Sam's club membership or not we're still kind of on the fence on that. Until my most recent visit, I would have responded sure, but I find it disgusting how many business in this economy take advantage of honest hard working people. I received Select Beef for the price of Prime Beef (Ribeyes). Paying $16.00 for the quality of $5.35 almost three times as much. My complaint to Sam's Club, which included images, was met with nothing more than a week-long+ runaround with NO resolution to date. I get asked the same questions over and over by everyone. Don't misunderstand me. I don't mind spending money on excellent food as long as it's NOT poor quality and overpriced. Although we have also belonged to Costco, we had chosen to only use Sam's Club due to their lower annual fee. Undoubtedly NOT worth the difference in fees. I have been a club member for 23 years. I have never had issues with returns, but today was different. I came to the surprise location for two returns I purchased. One is a pool I bought in July 2021 because I don't have a receipt. The service rep said I needed to contact Sam's online for the return. So now I am using their phone because mine had a connection issue. After talking to the representative on the phone, they suggest to dispute it with my bank. Really? It was purchased in July 2021, and I cannot get the order number in my purchase history nor at the club by calling Sam's customer service, and you suggest that I dispute! I am not only doing their job, but now I have to jump through hoops to get a refund. I see that their return policy is bull$@&$! The second product was electronic, and they did not do the refund, so I had to drive 30 minutes out to a different Sam's Club; luckily, the service rep did not make a fuss over the return and was like I used to know Sam's Club years ago. read more

Sam's in Surprise is close and convenient. Their rotisserie chicken is preferred in our household to the other warehouse. This review with a 5-star rating is based on my most recent visit. I went in to purchase Premier Protein shakes. They did not have a flavor that was in the circular so I was contemplating what flavors to purchase. An employee came down the stairs and asked if we needed assistance. He shared he liked the Carmel and uses a half carton as creamer in his coffee. I always stayed away from Carmel because I thought it would be too sweet. The associate turned out to be the GM. He was very polite and left a great impression. Lyle, thank you for being kind. Experienced 5-star customer service in the Optical department at Sam's club yesterday! Went in with broken nose pads on my glasses asking for help with a possible repair that, as a senior with shaky hands, I couldn't do on my own. I was assured by Barbara that she would be more than willing to assist me. She proceeded with the repair immediately while I waited. She fixed the problem adding new pads and screws, adjusted my glass frames, cleaned the lenses and was beyond helpful to me with a bright and cheerful attitude. Kudos to Sam's Optical for their willingness to help with these, what might be considered "bothersome" repairs, and for having such positive employees like Barbara representing them. Sam's club gas station is a fairly accurate agent Soviet era Russia. Omg lines for gas stretching 10 deep on every lane as only one to two pumps per side operational and in keeping with this deplorable service model there's no one directing traffic. Bought a chicken today and when I got home I started to cut it up and it was raw inside with bloody juice running out in the container. It looked really well done, was very brown and crusty on top. I took a bite of the skin and almost choked. it was covered in chili powered. I don't do chili powder, obviously someone accidentally used the wrong spice and went totally over board. This raw chicken could make people very ill. As if we don't have enough problems with all the recalls lately. However, this could be avoided by cooking it longer. I threw it out. DO NOT BUY AUTO BATTERIES AT SAMS CLUB!! Sams Club refuses to honor the 3 yr warranty on my 18-mo-old battery with bulging on both short ends & bad cell so it won't charge. Manager wouldn't even talk to my mechanic for verification. UPDATE I posted the same review on Twitter and was contacted by Sams Club customer service online. Took battery back to the store. Their prices are always the best I have found, when filling up my SUV so I know my dollar stretches here. This Sam's Club is by far my favorite and tonight was an amazing experience. We first went to the hearing center but the guy was so incoherent it wasn't funny. We just said our goodbyes and went shopping. During our shopping we saw the guy from the hearing center and a manager in the same vicinity. I went over to tell the manager about our earlier experience. He said that he could tell something was wrong and that's why he checked on him. He has a medical condition. The manager went over to him again to check on him. As we were checking out we struck up a conversation with the clerk helping self checkout. She also talked about watching the same gentleman making sure he's okay. Everyone that we came in contact was kind helpful and truly team players. Highly impressed! read more

I absolutely LOVE Sam's Club! I tried COSTCO but their aisles are overcrowded with pallets and wide carts pushed by rudeness. I prefer a Sam's in any state. This particular location is clean, always stocked, and the customer service is incredible. When I started going to this Sam's they never asked for your membership card to get in. NOW, They do! I couldn't be more happy! I don't pay $100 a year for just anyone to walk into a warehouse that I pay a yearly fee to. Sam's on Bell rd has EVERY RIGHT to request to see your membership, IT's A CLUB (we pay for them to verify). I visited this Sam's club to replace cupcakes that were dropped by accident. I had previously purchased them at a different location, but was in the area so I stopped by this Sam's Club to purchase more. When I arrived to the store I realized that they did not have the cupcakes that I had purchased at the other store and shared what happened with one of the ladies in the bakery. Without even having to ask, she offered to make the same cupcakes that I had previously purchased for me within 15 minutes and she delivered! The cupcakes were for my daughter's birthday today so she could celebrate with her classmates. After going to Costco where you fear for your life just getting into the store, and other Sam's Clubs that are crowded and not laid out well, this one is a breath of fresh air. We use the app on the phone to check out, so we can shop quickly! We also love the cafe, though they are almost always understaffed and there is a clear "A" team, and several "B" teams. Total time up at the desk was only about 5 minutes or so. Once we got out memberships, we decided to do some shopping. It's reminded me of a "boutique" Costco kind of. It had a lot of the same items but was just a little bit smaller. We got some bottled water, salami, cheeses, pineapple, grapes etc. The produce looked very fresh compared to the local grocery stores around town. Prices were on par for other warehouse type places. Why 5 stars? The cashier and workers were very friendly, this place is only 5 minutes from my house (Costco is 20 minutes), prices are good AND its not crowded at all. $45.00 for a year membership is worth it on its own....throw in the fact that you get the gift card and some free things (cookies, bread, roasted chicken and a spinach dip), this makes it a no brainer as far as value goes. I was in this club today and wanted to buy a CASIO watch which was the same model # but a different color than what Walmart was selling at 100.00 less. I ask the sales lady if she could match the price that I was showing her on my iPhone since they are basically the same store. I thought Sams club had great prices? She said "absolutely not as this is a corporate decision". She was not even nice about it! I went to Walmart and bought the watch after I left Sams club. I am glad I did as I like the color better. What a horrible day to come to Sams Club when I decided today was the day I'd start 21 days without any sugar....and they are giving out samples of Halloween candy and caramel apples lol, but other than that It's an ok place to shop. They have most of the bulk items I need for a decent price. I still prefer Costco for their selection of meats and baked goods. Yes, this Sam's Club asks for your membership card, which I believe they should, Costco does the same all the time! Compared to Costco, Sam's Club app you can scan each of the items in your cart, pay with credit card/debit card and skip the line, unlike Costco which is always overloaded with customers and hard to get around, and Costco's app sucks! You can't purchase your items with their app! Sam's Club staff is friendly and will help you that is their mission statement! I rather go to Sam's Club over Costco any day!
