Extremely mediocre. Got two sandwiches (basil rathbone and meatball sub) and neither one hit. The Rathbone was very bare bones and was essentially turkey on bread with a couple peppers and tomatoes thrown on top. Could've really used some lettuce and some more veggies in general on the sandwich. Meatball sub was fine, but the proportions of bread to meatball to cheese to tomato sauce was off. Was on the bike trail and happened to stumble upon sams deli. This is during covid-19 and they were very organized for sandwich orders outside. I looked up other reviews to see if anyone else found the new owner rude and I see I am not alone. It is the end of the season so I understand that everyone is tired but customers (local or tourists) should not be made to feel like they are annoying when they state that the food order they received was not the order they requested. Then schooled on how to order in the future instead of accepting accountability for any error made by the staff member taking the order. I placed an order online and headed to the shop to pick them up without realizing my estimated order ready time wasn't for another 45 mins. When I got there it was obvious they were very busy. I noticed a cooler with premade sandwiches and salads (which contained everything in my order) but had to wait for my order since I had already paid. The curry chicken salad was the best I've ever had as was the tarragon chicken salad. My kids got an Italian sub and said it wasn't very good but it looked tasty and fresh to me. Highly recommended but I would be aware of the premade case and grab from there if you are in a hurry/not picky about what you're eating. this place used to be one of those spots i went home and bragged about finding, now everytime i go there they give me more and more reason to not come back and save my money or go to stop and shop and make a better sandwich. i used to come here almost every weekend and get 2 sandwiches because of how good they were. i don't know if it's the staff or what but the sandwiches the last 3 times have been so god awful and take ages. just today it took an hour after i ordered and when i got there the sandwiches tasted like they sat out that whole hour it told me it would take for them to be ready. if anyone asked me where to get a good sandwich i would gladly point them in the direction of the Eastham Superette where the sandwiches are much better, don't taste like they sat out longer than you've been alive and they are much faster. 2 thumbs down for Sams. read more

Best deli sandwiches any place ever! We had a pastrami melt, turkey club and a BLT- very good size too! Ordered online and had to wait an additional 10 minutes past pick up time, but staff were all hustling making sandwiches to fill lunch orders. I've been to Sam's Deli several times and can't stay away! Which is why I couldn't be more thrilled that it's open for most of the year aside from one or two months in the dead of winter. Location: Sam's Deli is average in size which makes it a tight fit during its busy times. Sam's has a loyal customer base and offers snacks and drinks on the other side of the ordering counter. During the nicer weather, they have benches outside for a nice picnic. There is not really any seating inside, so it's more a grab and go sorta place. Perfect to get and then head to Nauset Beach for the day. Service: The employees are always friendly, helpful, and patient. I LOVE sandwiches, so at times I have a hard time making decisions. They have always been great at letting me take my time and even giving me sample tastes of their various chicken, tuna, and egg salads. Food: Sam's Deli has a menu of several sandwiches where they have tastefully put together great combinations. You can also create your own sandwich or get one of their specialty side dishes such as pasta dishes and veggie salads. They have a great variety of breads and cheeses to choose from as well. Personally, I have only come here for sandwiches. I have had a variety and have LOVED them all. My favorite is the curry chicken salad on foccaccia bread with bean sprouts and onions. The sandwiches are very reasonably priced and are extremely big. You could easily share your sandwich with a friend or save the other half for another day. Food is always fresh and is wrapped tight which makes it easy to grab and go. Sam's Deli has a sweet section with cookies, cup cakes, and other treats. What a disappointing experience, I wouldn't go back even if it was free. Where to start... The place was not busy at all and it took forever to get our sandwich. The customer service was less than poor. They seemed stressed out and overwhelmed, with at most eight customers in the store. This led to them being totally unfriendly in our interactions. Also, with the kind of wait they had, you would think they would offer ample indoor seating. Nope, three measly stools. Onto the product, the sandwich ordered was subpar at best. This wasn't helped by the fact they forgot the cheese on the whole sandwich and only put tomato on half. The sandwiches are not cheap, so I would hope to get what I pay for. The final straw was that they didn't have a restroom, even for paying customers. SERIOUSLY? That is so disrespectful to the people who choose to spend money with you to support your business and your life. This tells me they are more concerned with having to clean the bathroom than they are with providing paying customers the normal opportunity use a bathroom when nature says it's time. I don't know how a place that serves food, technically has indoor and outdoor seating, even gets away with not having bathrooms. They go above and beyond for allergies and make such great sandwiches+ ! The only issue is they are so good the demand is through the roof. I heard they are suffering through staffing shortages so be patient and only go if you're willing to wait (or call ahead). My husband and I had been here last summer and thought the sandwiches were decent, so decided to order two sandwiches to go before getting on the road. I ordered the sandwiches using the online order form. I placed the order and the confirmation indicated that the order would take more than an hour. This surprised me as they were two cold deli sandwiches off the menu, it was a weekday, and not lunchtime (it was a little after 3pm). Knowing this wouldn't work with our timeline, I called several times to try cancel the order but no one answered the phone. We waited patiently and ran a few errands hoping to get a text update on the order, which I had signed up for, but one never came. After 45 minutes, I went to check the status in person, thinking worst case scenario, if they hadn't started making the sandwiches, we could cancel the order. I gave them my name and was excited when an employee told me that the sandwiches were ready and that he was about to put them outside. I expressed genuine excitement and thanked him as he put them in a bag. At this point, another employee checked my order ticket, saw the time and decided to take it upon herself to lecture me (a super pregnant woman) that I came too early and was being presumptuous. I get that these are COVID times and not wanting the store to be crowded, but 1) there was literally only one other customer, who had just paid and was leaving when I walked in and 2) the sandwiches WERE ready. Had I not come early, they would have been sitting outside in a non-refrigerated pickup area for more than 20 minutes in 80 plus degree heat getting soggy. When I tried to explain that I was not aware of how long the order would take when I placed it (as I would not have ordered if I knew 2 cold deli sandwiches would take more than an hour) and that I had tried to cancel the order, she was as rude and dismissive and said I should have know it would have taken that long. Perhaps waiting more than an hour for two sandwiches is normal at this deli or maybe she was just having a bad day, but the condescending attitude and rudeness were completely unnecessary. Delicious sandwiches, a little market with all kinds of healthy options (fresh fruit/veg, hummus, etc) plus fresh baked goods. Sign me up! Also conveniently close to the Cape Cod Rail Trail (for bikes) and plenty of picnic tables. We each got our own sandwich and in hindsight should have shared. I skipped bfast, so pigged out. The guys saved their 2nd halves for a later meal. We split a super yummy 7 layer bar with all kinds of chocolate, coconut, etc goodness. Worth planning your bike ride to be in the area for lunch! Super embarrassed and disappointed. Honestly was reluctant to go here but I was meeting my mother and my grandmother for a social distancing lunch down the cape today. My grandmother loves David who works outside the shop and he is always very good to her and all the customers. She raves about his service. Unfortunately the other staff member we came in contact with was super rude. My mother placed the order online and I went to pick up the order with my grandmother who came along for the ride. First off, the order was completely wrong. There were no utensils, no napkins, no avocado (that we paid extra for), cold bread, and the wrong seltzers(which by the time we realized they were wrong we were already home). I think the worst part of our experience was that i didn't want my grandmother to come in contact with anyone and the lady blatantly and quite rudely ignored me. I went to go grab the stuff which we already paid for, while we were parked out front and the lady looked me up and down and started yelling about how I was underage in front of a literal crowd of people . Honestly, it was so disrespectful and embarrassing that I did not know what to say. Let me just mention that I never even told her my age. She then acted like she was gonna hand the food to me and then pulled back yelled about how I was underage again and marched over to my grandmother ( after I already said I did not want her touching anything because she is immunocompromised). Came right up to her and shoved the stuff into the car. My grandmother was really frustrated and despite my protests came back up to the lady to get a spoon for her food and her bread warmed up. The lady took the bread and threw it on the counter. l think my grandmother was pretty surprised at this. Sandwiches are decent, when they get your order correct, which is not often. I live close by so I mistakingly order sandwiches from here too often. Simple requests like add avocado, toasted bread, no sprouts, etc. are ignored. I actually just unwrapped a tuna sandwich that was supposed to have lettuce on it, it's missing. But the big problem with Sams is the wait. The previously mentioned tuna sandwich took 45 minutes to make. It seems as if they have plenty of employees so I'm not sure how this is possible. Full service restaurants seem to prepare and deliver entrees faster than it takes this place to toast bread. If you are expecting to get your lunch in a timely manner, skip this place, especially in the summer. read more

I stopped here on a long bike ride. It is a block away from the Cape Cod Rail Trail. I had a sandwich from the deli. It was huge! It was delicious, stacked with fresh veggies and the price was very reasonable. This place is next to a bike shop, and has plenty of energy bars and protein bars, so it's a great stop for cyclists. The only bad thing about this place. They don't have free ice water (I hate buying bottled water!), and don't offer public bathrooms for customers. read more

Was recommended to us by a co worker. Busy place with a lot of good options for deli sandwiches and coldcuts. Staff was friendly. Place was super clean and price was reasonable. They have one grinder size which I think is a great idea. Basically a medium filled with a lot of fixings. We both ordered the house Italians. One with mayo, other with traditional Italian dressing. Took about 8-10 min to prepare and were very filling. I would like to see what else is good on another visit, but I will say, once was enough for me.
