This was my 2nd time giving them a try. This place is very similar to Caspers, same toppings, buns and dogs except the Polish, the chili and cheese. They also offer shakes, but I only tried the hotdogs. Chili Cheese Dog (4 Stars) with onions and mustard. The Chili was mostly beans, but better than Caspers. You can tell they use beef, but it should be a lot more. The bun and dog are same as Caspers. The cheese is fresh grated cheddar cheese, better than Caspers. Polish Dog (4.5 Stars) with everything, which is the same as Caspers mustard, sliced onion, sliced tomatoes, sweet relish. The Polish is not Caspers Polish. They use a good quality Polish sausage, not sure what brand but something like Saag (Not a hotdog style Polish like Miller's). I view the Top Dog Polish (Berkeley) is still better, 5 Stars, so took off .5 Star. You can't beat the flat iron grill and French roll, to steamed and hotdog bun. Until next time... This is such a 10/10 hole in the wall spot! Prices are really affordable ranging from $6-$9 depending on what kind of hot dog meat you get ( relish, mustard, ketchup, and onions free of charge). The elderly lady running it was absolutely the sweetest offering to turn on the heater if we were cold. We were the only customers when we walked in at around 4:50pm and two more customers showed up after us, they honestly deserve a lot more customers because of the large amount she gives you for the small price! I came to El Sobrante for some fish n chips but they were closed. Tried spot number 2 didn't open for another hour. Saw Sam's while driving to spit #2. Came back and had a very good chili cheese dog. Cute small place offering basic hot dogs in El Sobrante. It reminds me of Sac's in Vallejo except smaller and maybe not quite as good (but still good! I'm giving them 4 stars afterall). This is the place where I think of when you bring your kids after a little league game or practice. You don't have to, but there's some sort of nostalgic feeling when I come here. I don't like hot dogs, never have and never will. But from time to time, it doesn't sound too bad when you have relish, ketchup, mustard, and kraut on it. I usually get a polish dog when I come here and everytime it's hot to the bite and the casing snaps when you bite into it, which is how I like it. All on a nice soft white bun. And the best thing about this place too is that the ratio is good. Not too much bun to dog ratio. With lots of topping (they don't skimp) Remarkably the chili here is quite delicious. Thick, saucey, hot to melt to melt the cheese on it. Super messy, but that's hot it should be. And not to mention, the lady is absolutely a sweet heart. She's a bit older but absolutely sweet and patient. She's been here enough to know all the possible combination and I swear she can make your dog blindfolded. She's one of those people that you can tell who's worked here long enough to predict what you'd like without you saying anything. Perfect ratio to all and just some sort of magical warmth when she smiles and give you the dog. Honestly, I'd go there just to say hi to here again she's so sweet. Don't forget your milkshake! Fast, easy, and cheap. Served by what appears to be someone's grandma and great aunt. Only thing missing was a Chicago dog on the menu.

Dining alfresco always add something to any meal. While San Pablo Dam Road might not be interesting to some people I enjoyed watching the traffic whiz by as I enjoyed my hot dog. The hot dogs are reasonably priced. I had a pickle dog with everything. The dog was juicy, however, it did not snap. The steamed bun tasted fresh. I'm not really a fan of buns, they are just a holder to me, and so I can't really comment of them. The dog was good and I thought about ordering a second one, figuring that if I did not eat the bun I would not really be overeating. Drove and seen this place plenty of times but never stopped in until now. It's a small place with an old school feel. Two sweet ladies that look like someones grandma work behind the counter. One rings you up and the other prepares your food. We went with a cheese dog and a pickle dog with chips and a soda. The cheese dog had tons of cheese on it, with tomatoes, onion, and relish. The two ladies running the place are super sweet. One was telling us they had been there for over 40 years. They steam their dogs so they don't lose their flavor. Nice snap to them. I've had this spot bookmarked for over a year and just decided to give them a try because I had no idea what I wanted to eat. We showed up around 4:15 on Monday, March 12th, and it started to rain like crazy all of a sudden right after I parked. I wasn't sure if I wanted to fight the rain or just turn around & head somewhere else. But since I was already there, I decided to brave it & fight the rain to get my polish dog! We decided to eat in since it didn't make much sense to run back out in the rain with our food. I ordered the polish dog with chili and cheese with jalapeños on the side. The portions are very generous. I was only able to finish a third of my food and had to ask my son for help. He had the hot link with chili and cheese, which he didn't take very much effort to finish. He even asked me if he can order another one to take home for later. Yes! This boy can eat! He ordered a large vanilla milkshake to go with his food, but his little sister ended up stealing it & he only got to enjoy a few sip of that. I took a sip and thought it was very good! They definitely use real ice cream as it was nice and thick, not watered down like many other places. The lady who was working that day was very mindful of her cleanliness, which I really appreciate. She actually took the time to wash her hands each time that she handled cash. 3 stars , Why? I ordered a chili dog with onions , extra cheese , chips and a drink for less the 7 bucks. The advertising photos of the Chili dog on Yelp was right on, however my food was luke warm and the cheese did not even melt on my dog! I was expecting my plate to be steamy , hot with a lingering aroma of chili spices. Instead I had a huge portion( not complaining) of mild warm chili , with no spices of "semi heat" and just sauce and beans..NOt impressed at all.
