Usually I take pictures for my review but, we only had a medium pie with x-cheese, pepperoni, onion and sausage and there are plenty of pizza pictures (and they are accurate). So let's talk about the pie, the crust is nicely done with a great cook. It's light with a slight chew. Compared to NYC pizzas I have had, it's close! Topping were fresh and evenly proportioned. As NYC pizzas goes, I would say the crust could be a bit thicker (it's the fold. if you know, you know) the flour just toasting the underside of the pie and those little pools of oil from the pepperoni. Hit that with the dried oregano and bada bing Your in NYC. The NYC theme is through the place and it does have that NY feel. The service was great and the guys working the counter are very helpful. Really great service and family ambience here. Locally owned and a fixture of the community for years! To make this place more awesome is the delicious Italian cuisine they serve here. The pizza to me and my daughter was out of this world delicious! My wife's chicken parmigiana was over the top greatness. We even got a mixed bread Bradley that had some delicious garlic bread in it. I could tell this is the place to be on a Saturday during lunch because I saw a lot of families here hanging out and enjoying their meals. We were just visiting the area and I'm really glad we stopped by. While you are there after the meal I suggest you check out their Main Street. Had been craving cheese pizza for a few weeks. I was in cedar hill and wanted pizza that wasn't a chain restaurant. Someone told me about Sam's and I was not disappointed. I ordered a slice of cheese pizza and an order of Chicken Marsala. The pizza was perfectly thin like I like my pizza. The chicken Marsala had so much flavor and came with a side of spaghetti ( I cleared my plate ). Very cozy and homestyle experience inside. This used to be one of my favorite pizza spots! I'll admit. It's been a little while since I've been. They've extended the dining area so it's pretty roomy now. I've been maybe once or twice since the expansion. Same people, same atmosphere. I like the old pizzeria feel. Service here has always been order and go which is fine by me. Nothing rude, just get your food and go :) We ordered pepperoni pizza. I'm not sure but it seems as though they've changed something. It didn't look or taste like it used to. It was still good but they've definitely changed the pizza. I'm not a big fan of it. Maybe I need to come back and get another pie to be sure. Placed an online order for pick-up, and the family thought the pizza was really good. Ordered sausage, and added black olive and mushroom on one half. Lots of those toppings were added (though it didn't really cover half...but wasn't a biggie). Crust was good, good amount of cheese. Also added one salad which was also pretty good. Got take out. The pizza was pretty big but they don't cut it for you. I am sure if you ask they can! The pizza is NY style for sure - big floppy pieces not crispy! The Stromboli was packed with meat which was great. Had a large party and had no problem getting a table for 9, and even though order is at counter they brought our food out to us, took care of us, adults and kids all loved their food, and ambiance allowed us to have a great family meal. This review covers two visits, both regarding online orders. Food: The pizza is good. Your fairly standard New York style pizza. I had an entire supreme pie and two slices of sausage previously. Pasta dishes are decent but nothing mind blowing. I haven't had a chance to try their sandwiches (for a reason). Service: Fairly typical service. Nothing to write home about. I will say both online orders I've made, they've gotten something wrong. First time, they got my pasta dish wrong but given the distance (Desoto - Cedar Hill), my fiancé and I just ate it. Second time, I ordered a chicken parm sub and got a chicken parm pasta. Still good but not what I ordered. Ambiance: The interior of the place is very homey and has that pizzeria-esque feel. The place sits right in Cedar Hill historic area (?) which is a nice slow pace area. Overall, this place isn't bad but it could be better. There are other family owned pizza/pasta places that do taste better. Joe's in Arlington off Matlock is 5/5 for me so there's no bias against this type of food or place of business. Its my first time to this pizza establishment, and I am excited to return. I've been looking for a delicious spot near my home, and I've found it. Food is great and staff very friendly. I was a little confused when entering as one orders and sits without the initial payment, but I was rapidly greeted and invited to take my time and have a drink while I decided. I had the eggplant parmesan sandwich and it was amazing. I also had the calamari as an appetizer. Although the slices were a tad small, the flavor on was on point. I highly recommend this place. Found this place on yelp and wanted to come try it because at had the most reviews in the area by far. Place has been opens for many years and had a true New York style vibe to it which I liked and it was family owned and operated. Ordered whatever the cashier recommended to me. Pizza was good! But nothing out of this world & a little to greasy. I also tried the fettuccine Alfredo pasta and that wasn't good at all. However the staff was nice to us, and the pizza which was the main reason we came for was good! Towards the end a lady to seemed to be the owner said that all her desserts are homemade. They were also good but nothing out of this world. All together I was happy with Sam's pizzeria and would definitely come back if I was back in this area, I'm giving the food a 3/5 but finishing with a well deserved 4/5 because of the story on this place. I only had a slice of the stuffed pizza it was ok not enough cheese for the amount of meat.

I visited this establishment after hearing from a friend that their food was amazing. I called the store and will say the gentleman was very friendly and gave great recommendations. I ordered the medium everything pizza which was more like a supreme and a slice of stuffed pepperoni. I was told my order would be ready in 10-15min. I then proceeded to drive 15 min and picked my order up. Had to wait on the stuffed pepperoni and the line was long. Lots of people eating inside and picking up orders. So I would assume the pizza was good. Here goes I took my first bite of the stuffed pepperoni and it was extremely greasy. However the crust was amazing and full of flavor. The medium pizza with all the toppings was nice but not worth the $30 tab I paid. The flavor was good but really pricey for me to not be super happy with my experience. They have problem with burning the bottom of their pizzas and the crust is black and charred. Not good for what it costs these days to get pizza. Maybe they need new ovens or cooks who will pay attention. This was the 3rd pizza I got with burned crust and I will not return. read more

Amazing first-time experience! We brought the whole basketball team, and from start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The complimentary bread was a delightful surprise--fresh, warm, and absolutely delicious. Each of us ordered something different, and every dish was mouthwatering.
