Purchased four pizzas. All were burnt. This is unacceptable! We ate them because we took them home, but come on! This is just one of multiple complaints we've had. We've been patronizing other Sam's locations for years, but Ruther Glen sucks. The food isn't as good. Their portions are smaller. One time we called in an order and they just forgot to make it. I used to love this location of Sam's, recently it has left much to be desired. If I'm going to pay $42.12 for two subs and a order of cheese fries, I feel like I should get more than half of a tomato on the entire 12" sub and enough meat to actually eat the sub. honestly i'm disappointed with my purchase this time around. I never had a bad experience before tonight. We ordered a Alfredo pasta and a sub. my bf sub was to his liking but my pasta was definitely not. the price for the pasta is high especially to add chicken that pasta was honestly the worse thing i've eaten. when i go to eat the pasta their was quite literally no sauce on the pasta it just noddle and chicken for the price I shouldn't have received that quality of food. I even went and added my own sauce from home which surprisedly made is worse which was my fault because i know now it won't get fixed but honestly i didn't even bother to try and get it fixed because there no way it could've turned out better. i've never written a review before like this but i just wanted people to know to NEVER get pasta from here. honestly im sad i had to waste it but it was just gross. read more

Can I give negative stars??? Would if I could. Stopped into this pizza place after a swim meet. Service was awful. Sat down and ordered drinks and from a server who could not be bothered to serve us. 15 minutes later she still didn't com back. Server went into the back and was arguing with another worker. We got up to investigate if anyone was coming back to our table and couldn't find a worker. Opened the door so the bell would ring and told them we were leaving. Service was good and the restaurant is nice, bright and clean. There is seating both inside and out. There are dessert options and GELATO! When you purchase one pizza any size you get the other free as long as it's equal or lesser price. We ordered the Greek pizza and veggie. They were very underwhelming. While the toppings were plentiful the flavor just wasn't there for me. I would order here if in a pinch but I would likely try something different. read more

Pulled in on our ride back to Baltimore from Fairfield, NC, cuz we saw the coffee shop sign; it was closed so decided to try Sam's. Could not have been more delighted! The staff was exceptionally friendly and happy to answer all my questions. The restaurant is so clean, well-decorated, and looks brand new (in area since 2015, in that spot for six years). The menu is just about everything you'd want (suggested they add soy cheese). The pizzas we got were absolutely delicious (mine was the veggie sans cheese ... they kindly put a few extra veggies on it, which was great, but in hindsight I wish I'd asked for extra marinara sauce instead). I don't usually love leftover pizza, but ate mine cold today for breakfast!!! Will remember and likely detour just to go there again. The only thing I'd change are the empty seats on a Sunday night, esp. Father's Day. That place deserved to be packed. They had a steady stream of take-out orders, but what a lovely treat to eat in a place like that. I hope their marketing team can remedy that better. Best wishes! read more

We last ate here in 2016 when I posted my initial lackluster review. Since then, they've changed managers and locations, so we figured we'd give them another chance. I'm so glad we did, because everything was great! They are still adjusting to relaxing formerly super-strict Covid guidelines, but the service was still impeccable. Victoria was our server and explained that (just for now) they are having customers place their orders and pay upfront, then orders will be served to us at our table. We ordered fried zucchini sticks, which came with ranch dressing. They were delicious! My husband ordered a Philly cheese steak sub and I opted for a vegetarian sub, with cheese fries to share. Everything came out quick, hot, and tasty! Our server was delightful and checked on us several times. I debated whether to give 4 stars or 5, because I don't award 5 stars easily. But honestly, I can not think of anything that I would have changed about our experience or meal that would have made it better! I'm so glad we gave them a second chance! read more

Don't get anything with chicken. You have to drink 20ozs of water with each bite. Its so dry i almost feel assured i wont catch salmonella which is a plus i guess. Their pizza is decent. About the only thing they have going for them. Also when ordering over the phone i make it a point to say thank you to the girl that answers. All i get back is dial tone. Gave this awful business owner a second chance. Ill post a picture of my bread, i mean crab cake sub. Tonight I got this weird long and skinny wrap which definitely isnt worth the price. I was also told the the cheese steak that was ordered barely had lettuce and tomato. Tried Sams tonight for the first time since moving to Ladysmith. I ordered takeout and got fettuccine Alfredo that came with a salad and garlic bread. The salad was nothing to write home about, however the garlic bread and fettuccine were notably bad. The bread was soggy and bitter, and the pasta was less than lukewarm and covered in jarred, flavorless sauce... I don't think I'll be returning. Simply awful, two salads were soaking wet when we got them, baked ziti was all store bought, sauce tasted like tomato paste with no seasoning and a metallic from a can taste. The ricotta on the baked ziti was just dropped on the top of everything. The manicotti was barely warm and had no seasoning. Admittedly I've only been here once but i was very impressed! The reason why is everything tasted lite and fresh, awesome rolls on my sub and tge restaurant is super clean and inviting. I only gave one less star because they dont have water as a drink option. Not the worst but just being thorough. I went back to Sam's and had different experience. Not bad we use get from the Fredericksburg locations. I think they're a good addition the the Ladysmith area. In my opinion better than Gueseppes. Chicken cheese steak was pretty good you can't beat the lunch special. Athough not a bread person the sub rolls are pretty authentic. I will eat there again definitely. read more
