Samurai Motors was top-notch. I called and spoke with Yoshi, who got me in quickly to align my 2017 Tesla Model X with N2itive control arms and lowering links. I had installed the n2itive parts already when I brought it in. Even though they weren't busy, he still took great care and had the alignment done in under 30 minutes--about 45 minutes total including a test drive. The car now drives perfectly straight, with both camber and toe dialed in just right. Also I got paper work before and after alignment. It did not cost me a lot like the other shops that wanted close to $300. I paid $180 for the alignment!( thank you Yoshi ) The shop is very professional, and the service was fast and smooth. The mechanics were polite and easy to talk to. I also loved seeing all the JDM cars they had--R32s, R33s, and even an '86 and MR2. It felt like stepping back into the 1990s. I hit some debris on the freeway and it absolutely messed up the catalytic converter. I took my car in and Yoshi was open about what the issue was. He said he could try welding it but if that didn't work, then he would have to order the part. The part was extremely expensive and the quote was over $2000. If he couldn't fix it, he recommended a muffler shop across the street. Before I could think about calling ahead, Yoshi informed me that he had managed to weld it back into place! And he only charged me $82. I was in and out within the hour. I had been coming to Samurai Motors for about 2 years, just getting oil changes, but this will now be my go-to for anything related to my Toyota. I'm not mad, just disappointed. My first experience with them was really good. Got a timing belt replacement and valve cover gaskets replaced. Communication was good throughout and they finished up quickly and even was able to do it for less than quoted. My second experience was not nearly as good. I requested to get all of the fluids changed and texted for a quote. I was sent back a number that seemed right and I took it in that weekend to get serviced. It took two hours which wasn't a big deal, but the final price was 200$ more than my quote. He blamed the price of the oil I requested but i know for a fact that oil was not 200$ more. The money was the first issue, but I also understand that things happen so I just paid and went on my way. It wasn't til I get home that I realized my oil was wayyy overfilled. I ended up having to remove over 2 quarts of oil to get it between the notches. This kind of over sight is really dangerous for engines. I have a suspicion It also exasperated my oil pan gasket leak. I reached out to get clarification on why it was overfilled and never received a response. I can't recommend this place. read more

I come here for oil changes and other maintenance work like air filter changes. I've had an issue a few months ago where the Honda Dealership incorrectly diagnosed my battery issue as an alternator issue, and I called Samurai Motors for a quote on alternator replacement. The owner said it was weird that my car, which had less than 75k miles, was already have alternator issues. He gave me a quote for an OEM alternator vs. a Manufacturer alternator, but said it might not even be an alternator issue so they needed me to take my car in for a diagnostic test. Turns out it was my battery and not the alternator, and they did not charge me anything as I decided to push back with the Honda Dealorship to change my battery under warranty. Nonetheless, I appreciated Samurai Motors still inspected my car and gave me a second opinion, as I was not willing to fork out $1k over a part that wasn't the issue. The lobby is very small but air-conditioned with few seating. Not the most comfortable waiting area but the wait times aren't long if you make an appointment with them. Unfortunately, they only do phone reservations but they've called me back when I wasn't able to get ahold of them. I've had to re-check my service invoice as the staff forgot to charge me for a service, so make sure you double check your receipts. read more

Came here to diagnose a check engine light on my car, they said it was fine to drop it off same day to get checked out, which I found really convenient. Rio (their front desk) would text any questions or clarifications they needed, and only a few hours later, they texted me what they found from diagnostics, what they recommended, and an attachment with an estimate. I discussed options and some parts pricing over text with Rio (super convenient, since I was at work), and we ended up deciding to try to fix it ourselves at home (since I'm wanting to learn to work on my car more). They didn't give me a hard time and I was able to pick it up same day. I loved their communication and their availability to drop off same day. Never got to met Yoshi but I hear he's THE MAN. I have a 83 celica that would not hold a charge for more then 2 days, i took my car to 2 different auto mechanics and both said its an electrical problem that they would have to diagnose, 1 place didn't even want to bother with my car as they said it was a headache. Called Samurai Motos, they let me drop it off a few days after the call. I dropped it off and a week went by and they called and said the car was ready and I just needed a new battery and a new Positive cable from the battery to the alternator and they re-did all the other wiring terminals that was connected to the battery. Been doing my oil changes here for a few years now. They have always been very fair with their prices. I have had some other minor work done on my car and they did a great job and was done very quickly. What I really respect about them is how transparent they are. My wife had a bad experience with Honda, they told her that her transmission was bad and not covered anymore under warranty. I told her to call Samurai motors, they had the opportunity to take advantage and upsell her, instead they ran a free diagnostic, and concluded it was her battery. She went back to Honda and they replaced her battery that was still under warranty. I respect the integrity they have at this shop! read more

After reading the reviews on Toyota someone mentioned Samurai Motors. After reading THEIR reviews and the high ratings I decided to take my car to get serviced there. I couldn't be happier! I also had them check the lower control arm of my car because Toyota said that was another issue that needed to get fixed. Samurai checked and said it was a minor issue that didn't need immediate attention. They also quoted me a reasonable price when I do need to get it done. I've been taking my Lexus to this shop for at least 10 years. I recently had to take my 2004 LX in because the people that changed the oil told me it was leaking oil. The owner told me it was just some oil leaking from the front axle and he needed to change the seal. It was pretty straightforward and I was very happy with the low price that he charged me for doing that and flushing my radiator. A very good friend recommended Samurai Motors to me after I was told by my Subaru dealer that I needed to replace my rear brake pads. I had been taking my vehicle to the dealer for oil changes and regular service for the first few years of owning the vehicle. After getting a quote of $400 for rear brake pads, I felt I could get a better price at one of the local mechanics. Enter Samurai Motors! The stellar reviews from my friend plus all the Yelpers convinced me to go and I'm so happy that I did. I called ahead for a quote and was told that it would cost $213 for the service--that made me ecstatic! It got better when I showed up with my car in the afternoon of the same day and, luckily, my Crosstrek had new rear brake pads in 20 minutes! I literally went next door to the Japanese market that's in the same plaza as Samurai to kill time and when I returned to the garage, my car was done! I'm not saying that this is something that happens regularly there; I just think my timing was lucky that afternoon. Attention to anyone viewing this review: I thought Samurai Motors would be a great place to get a repair done because it's located a block away from where I reside. Unfortunately, I had an error message that appeared on the dashboard of my Jeep Wrangler, so I looked up the error code message and did some research to find out that it was the auxiliary battery that had gone bad, which is why the error message on my dashboard appeared. When I arrived at the shop, I made Mesa, one of the mechanics, aware of the error message and that it was due to my second battery (auxiliary battery). Mesa claimed that he checked and that my Jeep Wrangler only has one battery. Yoshi, who is the owner of the shop, used a diagnostic machine to assess why the error message was appearing, and he said there was no additional battery and that there was another sensor that needed to be replaced. Once the repair was made, I came back to the shop to pick up my vehicle, at which point Yoshi stated that there were potential additional repairs that might need to be made, including for my catalytic converter and a leak from my radiator hose. I was taken aback by this because I have never had any issues with either. Yoshi then also proceeded to tell me that the initial repair would actually take longer because the error message was still appearing. I was confused because I didn't think it would be that difficult to change an aux battery in a Jeep. I requested to have my car back regardless of the error message because I feared Yoshi was trying to take advantage of me as a customer. Then, Yoshi started to tell me how my vehicle was 7 years old, and if I didn't want to deal with repairs, I should purchase a new vehicle. I was taken aback by the disrespect and unprofessionalism. Yoshi tried to convince me to leave the car for a couple of days until they figured out exactly why the error message was still appearing. Fast forward, I paid for the repair a total of $180 when they never repaired what needed to be fixed. Yoshi stated that I could take my car to the dealership, but I would be taxed much more. I was confident that Yoshi didn't know what he was talking about as the store owner and head mechanic, considering his unprofessionalism and lack of knowledge regarding my vehicle. The following day, I contacted the dealership, providing them with the code that was appearing. The operator made me aware that I do, in fact, have two batteries, one of which needs to be replaced, which is why the error message was appearing. The initial reason I went to Samurai Motors was to get the second battery (aux battery) replaced, but the mechanics, including Yoshi, claimed there wasn't a second battery that they were aware of. I contacted Yoshi after getting my vehicle scheduled for service to get the repair fixed, to make Yoshi aware that there was a second battery and that it was, in fact, why the error message was showing. Yoshi attempted to argue with me regarding my concern about paying for a repair that wasn't the one that needed to be fixed. Yoshi then told me I wasn't welcome back to his business and told me that I would receive a refund but proceeded to hang up the phone on me due to his unprofessionalism and misinformation. I wanted to leave this review so that no one else out there deals with this disrespect, unprofessionalism, waste of time, waste of money, and lack of knowledge on servicing vehicles and diagnosing the actual issue. If they had initially known what they were talking about, the second battery would have been replaced, which is a repair that takes less than 1 hour. The fact that the dealership is charging me $180 for this repair, which is a dollar less than what Samurai Motors charges, contradicts Yoshi's claim that they would charge double, which isn't the case. If you need your vehicle fixed, do not go to Samurai Motors because they have no morals as a company, and Yoshi, as a business owner, is unprofessional. Yoshi and Samurai Motors are excellent, extremely competent and totally honest. I found them a few years ago and came in with a list of repairs needed from the dealership. They told me I didn't those repairs and fixed the car perfectly at a fraction of the original estimate. Since then, I have no need to ask 'how much?' as they always charge far less than expected.
