My husband and I went to this location for lunch today and we ordered a Sumo bowl all beef.. It was the worst food we have had in a long time. Add More rice. Service was good could be better. They need more options to take sides of hot sauces to take to go. Containers for Like chili powder to take. I like Samurai Sams but i keep forgetting this location RUNS OUT OF EVERYTHING. Today I was told they dont have cauliflower rice. Most of the soda fountain flavors are out. Dont know if they go through supplies quickly or just operate at 50%. Every time i order at this location, they are out of even the most basic items. Horrible food, I still regret going there. My team went to Phoenix for some training and there were not many options around, and we only had an hour break. This seemed the only decent place close by. Jeez, I haven't had this stomachache inducing food for ages. The steak meat I am pretty sure that was not such, too dark, too hard, too pork-like taste (a bad pork btw). Been to other locations and food is always great. The sumo bowl here seemed odd. The veggies looked as if they were taken straight out of a cold bag. The "steak" was too dark, it resembles lamb meat. The teriyaki chicken was not good. Disappointed with this location. read more

I placed an order over the phone today and I was told 10-15 minutes. I sent my boyfriend to pick up the order 30 minutes later and he was told the order was not ready. I called to check the order status and the clerk told me they will start the order now. I cancelled my order and sent my boyfriend home. I than proceeded to place my order through grub hub. About 15 minutes after placing my order I received a call saying they ran out of noodles. This is the 3rd time this location has ran out of noodles. At this point, I was very irritated and hungry. I went in there for lunch today. I have been to this location a few times before but not in a good 6 months. I have been eating at samurai Sam's for almost 20 years and have always been very pleased.Something has changed. It was not good. It smelled strange when we walked in and it was not very clean. The chicken tasted like it was cooked, frozen, reheated and old. Also I got a rice less bowl and the veggies were very watery and they didn't put any sauce on top. I got it to go and luckily I grabbed extra sauce but it really didn't matter as the whole meal went in the trash. I will not go back to this location. It unfortunate! read more

So here's the deal. I gave my friend money to purchase me food for lunch. I had her order the steak and shrimp with veggie bowl for me. When she returns to work I realize they gave me chicken and shrimp. It's an inconvenience to drive there and get a new bowl, but not a big deal as I work about 3 miles from here. They give me a new bowl with steak and shrimp and I go back to work. As I get back and start to eat, I find a small black hair!! Gross, but it was solely on a piece of shrimp so I threw it away and the food surrounding it. I continued to eat and then found another hair..... I have obviously lost my appetite... I call them and they apologize and tell me they will refund me. I drive back there and wait in line to return my food. As I'm doing so an employee goes to refill a soy sauce bottle and drops the top into a box on the ground. The employee then proceeds to put the top back on the bottle unwashed. This last act is what prompted me to write the review. Unfortunately I will not be eating here again.... I will add I did get refunded. read more

This is a franchised location not far from my house...the food is great and reasonably healthy and they don't charge extra for extra sauce at this location...the only other location I've been to does charge extra. Kudos in my book for a place that doesn't charge extra for a sauce they are known for!! I just wish they were open longer hours on weekends but I'm sure their weekend hours are due to the fact that they are located in a commercial area. read more

I visited the location at 5340 W Buckeye Rd Phoenix today at 1:45pm. One of the items that I ordered was a Chicken bowl with extra spicy sauce when the young lady bagged my order I noticed that my vegetables did not look done they where hard I mentioned it to the young lady (Sarah Jimenez) she assured me that the vegetables where cooked needless to say when I got home and proceeded to eat my food the vegetables where not cooked I also order Pot Stickers and Egg Rolls of which where not properly cooked the pot stickers had the texture of half thawed half cooked dough and the egg roll was also mushy. I tried to call the store to speak to a manager the first time I called the phone rang with no answer then I hung up and called back it rang continuously with no answer then I called back and finally a young lady answered I asked to speak to a manager she replied "He ain't here" I replied is there a manager on staff that I can talk to she replied "yes" but he don't speak English it was then I asked for the number to corporate she said to hold on a few minutes later a young man came to the phone I asked him for the number to corporate he then said hold on I held for about 5 minutes only for him to disconnect me. I called back another male answered the phone I got the run around again he told me to hold and he never came back to the phone,(needless to say while I was holding I could hear the employees in the background talking about me the young man never came back to the phone so I hung up. I called back again and got someone a different male employee I proceeded to aske him for the number to corporate he became extremely defensive and tried to say that I was being rude which is definately far from the truth finally I asked him for the number to corporate he gave me (602)821-7311 and said that was the number to corporate I hung up and immediately called the number a female answered (hello) I said hello who is this she replied this is S******** I said is this corporate she replied "yes" I am the owner of Samurai Sams.. at this point from the service I received while trying to reach a manager I am having a hard time with believing that the number I was given was corporate. So not only was my food not properly cooked but the staff was rude and failed to offer the proper customer service the way the staff acted was as if they were in High School and full of games.. This was the worst Samurai Sam's Food I've ever had! While the service was fine and the wait wasn't bad, I got my food to go. I ordered two large Spicy Beef with broccoli teriyaki bowls and two grilled egg rolls. The food was nasty. The beef was dry tasting and burned! There was hardly any teriyaki sauce and mostly contained the broccoli and rice. I've eaten at other Samurai Sam's where I enjoyed my meal immensely and I was disappointed. Was craving Teriyaki chicken with white meat and brown rice....for some reason that's hard to find. I was so happy to find a Samurai Sams some what by the house. Its near an industrial area so its hard to see it...use ur gps or keep your eyes open. Food was great though and fast. Not so fast though that you knew they "warmed up you chicken in the microwave" fast though. It was cooked to order. The gal at the counter was great too. Very friendly! Always a plus. The flavor was good but it seemed as though the noodles and chicken were cooked long before I got there. This has become one of my regular lunch restaurants. The meats are always grilled to perfection and the sauce is addicting.

Last week, my order was totallu jacked as they put spicey sauce on everything rather than the normal sauce. My young daughters went nuts after digging in because it was too hot for them. I called to let them know and the guy that is always there totally fixed the situation. I could not have asked for anything better than the customer service he provided. My family eatd here all the time. Food is great. Iys always clean. And my kids love the veggies with teriyaki sauce. read more
