    Philadelphia roll

Decided to give this place another try. On a Friday night for happy hour we were seated right away outside. The service here has improved a lot since my last visit. Our server grace was very attentive and nice. The coconut shrimp were delicious! We also got the senna roll, Las Vegas rol and a spicy yellowtail roll. All tasted fresh and a good price on happy hour. However I am confused to how 3 happy hour rolls, sodas and an appetizer came out to $76. I should've checked the receipt before leaving but was with a large party. I would give this place another shot but will definitely take an itemized receipt with me.

I had a great experience. I went late one Saturday night. The staff was very lively. The meal did take a while to get to my table. I actually think they forgot about us. Because the waiter came and asked, if I ever get my rolt? And I said, no, and she apologized profusely, and within 7 minutes or so I was eating. There is outside patio, which is very nice in November. There is accessible parking near the front and accessible entrance.

    Is this a joke ?

Positive : Moira was opened and we were seated outside on a lovely evening. The rest.... We had the poke nachos, senna roll, shrimp tempura roll, and Kara (chicken bites). We ordered the gold rush cocktail, but they were out of Lavendar so it was a no go. Instead, we just ordered two Tito's and soda. She asked if we wanted any garnishments and I said , "sure....lime.". She said they didn't have lime and asked if a lemon would be OK. We both agreed it was fine. No biggie. It would have been nice to disclose that the 2 tiny slices of lemon would cost us two dollars! Who charges for this on a cocktail as an up charged ? Ridiculous! Nachos were more like won tons on top of some diced tuna and avocado in a deep bowl. Odd to eat - tasted fine. It was just disjointed and weird. Sushi : no no no NO flavor, no tuna, no shrimp, nothing! It was all blah, mushy rice. I'd prefer my local grocery store sushi over this. So disappointing! The Kara was fine, but the description said it came with seaweed. When I inquired with our server after the fish arrived, she said there was seaweed "in the batter" and we would "taste the seaweed flavor there.". Still waiting It was prepared in a blonde batter with no flavor of nori, no green, no umami, no sign of it. Sorry - a huge miss there. It was served in a bowl over some raw cabbage. The atmosphere was not appealing but not off putting aesthetically. We were just happy to sit outside and grab a bite, even if the bit wasn't great. Paying $2.00 for two slices of lemon earned the 1 star, in tandem with the food that just didn't meet the mark. Sorry, Moira. It's a hard no for us.

don't get the karaage it's bad ... looks like popcorn chicken. and they serve it with honey mustard?? drinks are good though. happy hour has good prices.

This place is a downtown gem. They have a really great happy hour and it's reverse on the weekends. They have a better cocktail list than a lot of nearby sushi places. They even allow dogs on the patio which I really appreciate! I like to sit at the bar and watch the chefs make sushi and food since it's an open kitchen.

Came across Moira Sushi Bar & Kitchen while strolling the downtown area and gave it a go. It was busy inside but I was able to get a seat at the bar top. The staff was all great and friendly. Had a few role and it was ok. My favorite was the coconut shrimp with their spicy mayo on top. Those are a must try if you give Moira a go.

mehhhhh... super expensive for what we got honestly. love that this spot is open late but $20 for this roll and $16 for what's basically a large green tea shot was definitely a lot. but the sushi tasted alright and the drink was pretty good! my friends got appetizers but couldnt justify the drink prices for a cocktail. definitely conveniently located for a late night sushi dinner, but not worth the price. good service i would say! and we were seated relatively quickly for a first friday night. good ambiance and strong AC.

Everything. Service was superb. And loved the rolls. Lobster and something and crab something. Highly recommend it

The atmosphere at Moira is very artsy cool. The mural on the wall really sets the mood, as do the red lights. We sat on the patio which was a little quieter. We ordered a few different things, but I especially liked the crispy rice and the ahi poke nachos. Both were absolutely delicious! Cocktails were delicious, too. This is a great place of your looking to eat a little late. They are opened until 2 am on weekends.

We were never given silverware until we asked for it while ordering our entrees. The service was incredibly slow and our server had a weird attitude the entire time. The restaurant was beautifully decorated but so loud and there was no music playing. Our server took drink orders from everyone except me. Another guest asked her a question about the menu, she disappeared for over 10 minutes came back and took my order for a drink. My friend asked about mocktails and she just said you can make any drink a mocktail. The espresso martini was delicious. However our waters never got refilled and the server did not ask anyone if they wanted another cocktail. The best part of the evening was the avocado Caesar salad. It was fresh and I liked the crunchy bread pieces. The shrimp was horrible!!! I should've said something in the moment but I didn't want to be that person at another persons birthday. They were SO tough, I had to saw through it with my knife. They were incredibly tough and rubbery. The sauce it came with was straight garlic. The beef Wellington was lackluster. I was very excited to try this restaurant and left completely disappointed. For a restaurant that advertises as an upscale dining experience the food and the service did not reflect that.

We shifted gears and went next door to Sake Haus, and I'm so glad we did! Everything was spectacular! First of all--BEST edamame I've ever had! That tallow really adds a richness! And the gyoza had just the right amount of kick to them. We had both the hamachi crudo and the halibut crudo. They were both delicious, but the hamachi was the standout. Hamachi is usually a little too fishy for me, but this just melted in my mouth and left me wanting more. We also had one of the specials, the 808 roll. It was topped with poke, and we would not let them take the plate until we'd scooped up every little morsel! Cocktails and service were excellent as well. We definitely ended up with a pricier meal than what we'd planned next door, but it was totally worth it! I wish I'd taken pics of the beautifully plated dishes, but I was too just eating!

The service- pretty poor. I was sat in the bar at the back but I basically sat there for a good 5 minutes and nothing. I went back up front and asked to sit at the bar and it was still pretty inattentive, especially considering no one else was even seated in the front room at the time. Never got my water refilled, had to flag them down to put in more food, that sorta thing. The vibes- thought the bar was pretty lit and is prob pretty fun during HH. The food- overpriced for what you get and portion size while the fish and flavors being a smidge above average. I left still hungry after getting the gold omakase, bad and buri roll, and hamachi crudo. The hamachi was the best part of the meal but I'd still expect at least 5 pieces for the price. Anyways, this spot will hit the spot if you have a sushi craving. I can't vouch for the drinks but I assume it more than checks the box in that regard judging by the menu, selection, and vibe. But know that you're in for some trade offs imo.

We had reservations, were greeted and seated immediately. We decided to share tapas to allow the opportunity to sample a wider variety of dishes. Happy hour menu provided a great opportunity at a reasonable price. We order hummus and peta bread, olives with almonds and a couple of church music IPAs. The beers and olives arrived in a few minutes and the hummus about ten minutes later. Loved the red pepper flavor of the hummus. Beers were cold and refreshing. Next we decided to try the honey saffron and sumac Socca. It was unique and delicious. The ingredients truly complement each other, with the sumac bring a tart flavor to the honey saffron. We also tried the crispy eggplant with tzatziki sauce which was a standout, one of the best bite of the evening. Our last two dishes we selected were the K4 meatballs with parmigiana in a wine sauce and the grilled octopus. The octopus was okay but not as good as it was last time, too many white beans and octopus texture was off. The meatballs were excellent with bold flavors. The atmosphere was quiet initially but the restaurant filled up and got busy about 15 minutes later. Love the open kitchen and eclectic decor. Our server was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended for a unique dining experience before a show downtown! Enjoy!
