Samurai Sushi in Turlock, CA serves some of the best sushi in town. The flavors are amazing, and every roll is fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of quality ingredients. Beyond the sushi, they also offer delicious noodle bowls that are flavorful, satisfying, and generously portioned. Their appetizers are excellent as well, and one of my personal favorites is the edamame. They also have a nice variety of drinks, including teas and sodas, giving everyone plenty of options to choose from. The service is friendly, attentive, and welcoming, making every visit enjoyable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with family or friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Whether you're craving sushi, a hearty noodle bowl, or just want to enjoy some appetizers and drinks, Samurai Sushi is definitely worth visiting. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back again.

Not pleased with this sushi restaurant. When we entered there was only 1 guy behind the sushi bar. And we were told to grab any table we wanted. There were another couple that cane in after we did and funny enough, they grabbed the menu instead of the menu being handed to the customers. That was red flag #1. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Red flag number #2 should have been all the football KC memorabilia like the fake superbowl trophies. Are you serious??[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Red flag #3 was they only had 2 bento box options in their badly worn out laminated menus: Chicken and Beef bento box w/o the option of getting sashimi. We just walked out of there as if there was a tornado and decided to eat at an actual sushi restaurant. Personally I have no idea why this place got such a high rating. Quality of Service: D Quality of food: Never gave them a chance Price: B (higher than it should be comparing to other sushi restaurants) Recommendation: Go to Sushi Cuisine 1 exit north of 99 for genuine sushi experience.

What an adorable place in the shopping center, it looks closed from the outside but that's because the inside is fully decorated with greenery and dimming lights. It really felt like being transported to not quite Japan, but close vibes. It's you're typical American sushi restaurant- I've never been to a sushi restaurant like it. I came here for dinner with my parents first night in town. Fair prices and clean. There is an atentative staff, but I like that they just do their job and leave you to eat in peace. We sat at the sushi bar. I got a specialty roll, which was incredible and a basic tuna roll that was fine. The solo bathroom was a bit lacking and it loses a star due to music. It was RNB music videos on repeat with lots of nudity and too loud for a conversation. Not something I am interested in watching with my parents. But overall, I think they will be back as they live in town!

So many options to pick from. This place is probably top tier for us personally compared to the other sushi spots in town. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself has a very fun vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is always friendly. The food is always great. Even on their busiest days they're very transparent with their wait times which I feel is important when ordering so you know what to expect. They're definitely about quality over quantity. Keep up the great work.

This place gets busy. The staff are friendly. The food is okay. We had the dragon roll which was good and the spicy tuna roll this one was plain no toppings. I have never had a spicy tuna roll like that. We also ordered the udon noodles which was so hot you couldn't eat it. We packed it and it was still hot 30 minutes later. Overall it was an okay place.

This place has changed owners since my last review... thank GOD! The food is always great! They still put a lot of sauce on the rolls though. I enjoy coming here now though since it's so close to home. They have great customer service now!

I get this place a four star. It's one of the most decent sushi place in the central Valley, but it can be pricey.

Ordered two sushi rolls and there was a piece of hair inside one of them. The water tasted odd as well.

We decided to split the dynamite roll as well as the shrimp fried rice, and filet mignon plate and OMG that steak was cooked to perfection the rice was soooo good and the shrimp was deeelish!!! Ensure you bring out the food hot, my ribeye and lobster hibachi plate was very cold unfortunately and I had to send it back. 2. Ensure you add more flavor to the hibachi as a whole. While it looked presentable there was very little flavor... vegetables were plain steamed...rice tasted like Costco rice that you microwave. 3. Ensure you get good quality meat. That was the toughest "ribeye" steak I ever had. Wait staff and service was excellent, but do to poor food quality I would not recommend. Subpar for sure.

The restaurant is nestled in the cute downtown area of Hughson, their main street. Upon walking in, we were greeted by the staff and seated right away. We were there on a Thursday evening about an hour before closing, but the restaurant was packed with customers. The menu has an extensive selection of Chinese and Japanese dishes. I had the Bruce Li roll which had tempura shrimp topped with crab meat, salmon, tuna, spicy mayo and unagi sauce. I also 2 pieces of the Hamachi (yellowtail), miso soup, and spicy edamame. The fish was some of the freshest I've ever had - flavorful, definitely sushi grade, and I could tell that it also wasn't previously frozen due to the color and texture. The miso soup and the spicy edamame were well-seasoned and delicious. My nephew had a combination plate with orange chicken, broccoli beef, and chicken fried rice. One thing to note that was really nice is that the restaurant allows you to create your own combination plates, they're not set items with no substitutions. When our waitress brought my nephew's combo plate, the food looked freshly cooked and delicious! He ate every bite! If you're ever in Hughson, try the Hughson Asian Kitchen - the friendly staff and tasty food won't disappoint!

Sushi restaurant or a nightclub?…read more My friend and I decided to go for a night out Downtown. When we arrived at about 7:00pm, we were told there would be about an hour wait. Despite this long wait, there were actually quite a few empty tables, but was overall still very busy. When you put yourself on the waitlist, they notify you through text when your table is ready. This gave us ample time to walk around Downtown while we waited. When we received the table-ready text (just short of an hour later), we were sat quickly in a nice U-shaped booth. This seating arrangement felt a bit awkward for a party of two, especially if you are sharing food. The booth is too big to be sitting close enough to reach but too small to not feel awkward. It is perfect for people watching though since the booths face the entire restaurant. By this time, the restaurant was completely packed, with just about every booth, table, and barstool occupied. Our waiter came quickly to take our drink orders. We got a Cucumber Martini and an Espresso Martini. The Cucumber Martini was incredibly light and refreshing. The Espresso Martini was not impressive. It didn't have a strong espresso flavor and was rather watery, but still alright. This is the type of restaurant, that especially on busy nights like this where they don't accept reservations, you should allocate a lot of time for the dinner service for. There is a significant time gap between each time the waiter comes around to take your order. There was probably 15-20 minutes between placing our drink, appetizer, and meal orders. This was not a problem for us, but if you are eating here before making a show at the Gallo Center, this may be something to consider. For our appetizer, we ordered the Salmon Ceviche. It was insanely good. It was subtly spicy and citrusy. The chips that came with it were light and not oily at all. I wish the portion was larger because the two of us swallowed it up in just a few bites. For our entree, we got the Salmon Tataki and Goodi Rolls to split. They were both very good and came out on a lovely platter. They tasted very fresh and high quality. The prices here are on the higher side but is nice for a special occasion or splurge. Our server was very attentive and checked on us often. He was super friendly too. The restaurant was super lively. They were playing club music which was totally a vibe. It looked like this was the spot people hit before going out for the night. I noticed they were accommodating for both small and large parties, serving both rather quickly. I'll be back!
