Ok food, but 2x server has charged extra to my card for tip..... Only been to this restaurant twice, and both times I was charged extra on my card, $2.00 months ago and $1.00 last Thursday. Just dishonest and I know if this has happened to me both times I dined there it is something servers do very often to squeeze an extra dollar or two out of customers for their tips. And I guess servers assume customers won't complain over a dollar, and I didn't the first time (over $2.00) but did complain this time and no one responded. Poor management and dishonest servers. I really enjoy this place, my friend and I can here and the lady gave us our chips and salsa right away with water and very friendly, she got the asada burrito and I got the steak fajitas, both were amazing! They make good drinks for great price. I been to lots of Mexican places and none make the salsa like here ! You can even buy jars because it's so good! The genuine experience is enough for a five star. I've read some of the other reviews and really don't understand how people can come to the conclusion that you're not being catered to. My wife and I the kids that we have at home and some of the kids that don't live with us go there quite often. The staff and the owner immediately greet everyone with a friendly hello as if we are family. Ask people how their day is going. Then, the server comes who is another friendly face. Giving suggestions as to what we might like to try. Drinks, cups are kept full throughout the meal without feeling like you are being smuttered. This restaurant has become a place for date night (being that it is not far from our kids), but also a great place to bring the whole family to. As far as, the comments left by others...everyone gets to think that they can say anything on Yelp, but being a fellow business owner one single bad Yelp review can destroy your company. read more

So we went here today with 6 of us. No problem. They seat us bring water and chips. 20 minutes later still no service not even greeted by a server. When we left no one even stopped to ask us why we were leaving. Not to mention 50cent refills on drinks and 1.50 to split the bill and extra for extra chips. Won't be returning. read more

This was the second time I've eaten here the first being takeout. I wasn't too too impressed with my takeout chicken enchaladas but they weren't horrible so I decided to give this restaurant another shot. Got the number 44# this time, an enchaladas platter. One ground beef with red sauce, one pork with green and the chicken (again!) with a creamy white sauce. Rice and beans filled out the meal per usual. Much better this time! The chicken had WAY more flavor, really juicy and moist. Sauce had a nice tang. It became my favorite on the plate followed by the tasty pork and the ground beef trailing a distant third. Rice and beans were fine. I liked that everything had cheese but it wasn't smothered from top to bottom. So food good server not so much. She was fine but it would have been a solid 5 stars if she were a bit more attentive. Also just rushed me to pay since she wants to go on break. Um ok, I saw 2 other servers and the owner. I'm sure they could have cashed me out. I'll try this place again though. The food was pretty darn good and not to spendy. read more

Waited 20 minutes to get our bill...during that entire time our server Carlos was talking to folks at another table. We had to track down another server to get our bill. Awesome food. You get big portions for what you pay, and the prices are low. The ingredients are fresh, the avacado on my salad was fresh and the salsa was good too. Have been to this restaurant many times over the last two years and it's only because it was the best Mexican food I've eaten since coming to Washington State. The food is always fresh, good portions and excellent flavors. I have never once been disappointed in the food. The service on the other hand is less than ideal. Staff is friendly but it's almost always understaffed every time we have went. I think mainly a family runs it with a few extras but I have only went a handful of times were I get the service was above average. The last few visits were bad, ordered a corona and wanted another but didn't see the server again after food was dropped off. We actually had to go hunt them down for our bill. Went back again, same issues, no refills on our water, nothing. The last time I went it was for a pickup order because I honestly just didn't want to deal with the poor service but the food is outstanding. Called 30 minutes before I arrived, restaurant had a few people at tables with 2 people at the bar. I asked for my order and it's like they didn't even realize I called it in. She said " just a few minutes" and that ended up being 25 minutes. I was insanely angry having just left work, made it a point to call early and then forced to wait more time to sit around while they prepared the food from scratch. Not even so much as a "Sorry it took a little longer" nothing, nada. Having worked in customer service at least half of my working life it takes a lot to piss me off but after the many times of outright terrible service and this past order pickup, I'll never be back. Only gave it two stars because generally the staff is friendly and the food is awesome. read more

Best salsa in the northwest, only slightly spicy. I buy the 32 oz to go regularly. If food is bland it is not Mexican. Try katsup.

Really did not enjoy this place. Went here a few days ago for dinner. Decided on this place because it was close to home and the reviews were pretty good but I was very disappointed. Our waiter asked us almost immediately after sitting down if we were ready to order and we said we would need just a minute. We didn't see him again for what seemed like forever. Someone else actually brought out our drinks and chips and left before we could ask him to grab our waiter. The salsa was ok but the guac we ordered was pretty bland and I ended up mixing some salt in to give it some kind of flavor since it tasted like just mushed up avocado. Our daughters food (taco and fries) arrived pretty quickly which was a plus but we asked for ketchup and never got it. Our food took a very long time to come out. My husband ordered the huevos rancheros which he orders pretty much every Mexican place he goes and usually it comes with tortillas but for whatever reason it didn't so he had to wait even longer for them to bring them out to go with his meal. When I was ordering I had been torn between two items on the menu but when I started to ask the waiter which is better he looked at me with such impatience that I quickly just picked one. I ordered the pollo fundido which was alright but not fantastic. Nothing I had was great (not terrible but just not great) and nothing tasted fresh. Our waiter also seemed to be more worried about other tables (there was a much larger party over by our table) than he was with ours because he was very hard to track down pretty much the whole time. Only been here twice. I was traveling for work and got the lunch specials both days after the friendly lady on the phone recommended them. (Las blas burrito and aroz con pollo). Both delicious and with generous portions at about $8-9, and came with chips and salsa. Salsa was great, chips not so much. Only complaint I have about the food is the spicy.... not spicy at all, but then I never asked for heat so there's that. Would love to eat here again, anytime any day. read more

Atmosphere seemed off to me for a Mexican restaurant, was bright and lacking in that Mexican theme. My daughter and I went for lunch, our first visit using an Entertainment coupon. The server was fine, fairly attentive. The chips seemed slightly stale which is a BIG no no in my book because that's what sets the mood for what's to come. The chips were cold (another no no) with a rancid slight stale taste, the salsa came in a very tiny condiment bowl that you had to break your chip in half to fit it in to try and scoop up any of the liquid. Salsa was hot, which was fine by me but far to hot for teen daughter and I'm sure by a good percentage of patrons. Since we had the coupon good up to 11.00 value (2 for 1) we both chose entree's that were 10.75. My daughter had the shrimp enchilada's/rice/beans and I had the spinach/mushroom enchilada's/rice/beans. My daughter did enjoy hers and I did taste it and it definitely did taste of seafood and could see a decent amount of the tiny shrimp that were what you call shrimp meat when buying it because it's the smallest you can buy. The plates looked a bit generic, not sure if the beans were canned or not but pretty blah and pasty looking, I had to add hot sauce/salsa and chopped onions to perk up my entire plate. My veggie enchilada was OK, could have used garlic and more mushrooms/onions since it didn't have meat yet same price. So now I get to the real topper, the server takes my coupon and brings the bill. I was expecting to see a charge of one meal 10.75 plus the one soda beverage that my daughter had plus tax...should have been about 14.00. Well it was 17.00! So I knew there was an overcharge somewhere. Sure enough they charged my daughter 12.50 and me 11.75! So of course I took the menu with the bill up to the cashier desk and both or male server and a female (acted like owner...they may have even been married) and they try to make excuse that shrimp is more now. Well that wasn't going to fly with me, I told them that they can't just make up prices and charging differently than what the menu says. They were talking in spanish with each other and I continued to defend myself saying I was not paying more than the menu price!! Finally she grabs my bill and voided it out and redid my bill still making up some excuses about new prices. I told her it doesn't matter, you simply can't charge more than was is clearly stated....she just didn't want to hear it. She did correct my bill but I shouldn't have had such a hassle, it totally ruined the visit ending on a stressful note like that. The food wasn't great, atmosphere lacking and to try and sneak in added charges just doesn't fly with me....won't be back. read more

Ate there yesterday.....awesome!! My wife and I are from California so we have a pretty good idea of what good Mexican food should taste like. I ordered the chili Colorado burrito with the beans and rice on the side instead of inside of it and a chili rellano. Hands down one of the best if not the best chili Colorados we've ever had. My wife ordered the steak fajitas which were awesome! We were really suprised to see so few people in the restaurant since the food was so good. Service was great...almost too attentive. Chips and salsa were great too. Highly suggest checking this place out, it's more authentic and allot tastier than the place down the street. We had a rehearsal dinner there, and they couldn't have been more accommodating. They have a nice private area for approximately 30 with no room charge! They just charge for food and did a lovely buffet, so it was affordable for 26 people. When we scheduled the event the owner disappeared for a few minutes, and it was because she was making us a free enchilada meal to sample. The food is tasty and visually appealing, and San Blas is a great venue for small banquets and parties. :-D read more

Went here last night for Cinco De Mayo and for my birthday and I'm very torn about what to think. First off the food was great! The 3 of us that went all agreed that the food tasted excellent. I thought everything was more flavorful and not as bland as other typical Mexican restaurants. But the customer service last night was HORRIBLE! A couple things to point out though, is yes I understand that it was cinco de mayo... So they were probably really busy. And secondly, they said their computer system was down and not working. Even considering those things, I thought the male waiter was rude and really stand offish. We asked for an extra plate for my toddler to use, and some extra salsa. They forgot. We had to ask for the salsa like 3 times to a couple different staff members. Then they gave us the salsa, and meanwhile my toddler had her food smeared all over the table. Had to ask for a plate like twice more. Everyone in the restaurant sat around after they were done eating for about 1 and a half hours. Not even exaggerating. Because they couldn't give anyone their bill (computer broken). So we all just sat there. I tried to order another drink while we were waiting. Nope never got one. I asked like 3 times. Then we asked if we could just pay cash and leave. They said wait we have to ask the manager. Manager said yeah that's fine but that we have to wait for them to write out a bill for us. So then they forgot about us again for another 20 minutes. We were like what the eff?! We can literally figure out and write up the bill ourselves. Looking around at other peoples tables you could tell everyone was annoyed. A guest at a table near ours left his cash on the table and just walked out. Cause they forgot about him as well. Customer service was just horrendous! They never tried to apologize, we were basically just ignored the entire time. I don't know if I'll ever come back. But hey, their food is really good if you can tolerate bad service and rude staff. read more
