This is a decent fenced dog park, separated by small or large dog. Great view of the bay to the right, and the golf course to the left. There are built-in obstacles for dogs to play around with including weave pole, tunnels, jumps and A frame. Great for those busy dogs to burn off their energy. Rules are clearly marked at front gate (and doors open inward only), with a couple of water fountain for the dogs and one tall one for the human. Length of this dog park is adequate, enough to throw tennis balls for my dogs to fetch and retrieve. We came here over the weekend and surprisingly there were only 3 dogs. I would imagine on a busy day, it could get tight, but the plus side is that you have the option to walk your dogs along the paved trail (with leash) and enjoy the bay views. Note: There are parking either on the sidewalk or the parking lot. We lucked out and found one at the lot which is the closest to the dog park (which is about half mile walk). Cheers!

My experience here has always been wonderful! Located at the marina park, I have been bringing my pup here since she got fully vaccinated and dewormed at four months. She is now almost 1, and we have been coming frequently several times a week, or at least once a week. I love this place! First of all, the views are unbeatable. Second of all, there is so much space for her to run in the small dog area. For the most part, people are respectful of the size separations, I've never had any trouble with dogs of different sizes mixing and creating a dangerous situation. From my experience, almost all owners have been incredibly responsible and make sure their dogs are well behaved. If there is any tension, the other owner, and myself, will immediately approach the dogs to separate them. People are very mindful of their dogs and pick up after their dogs. I have even made several friends coming here! People were so friendly and gave me tips as a new dog owner, and recommendations of local areas to take my dogs. From my experience, if you are friendly and mindful of your dog, people will be that way in return. If at any point I feel like my dog is being put in an uncomfortable situation, I just separate her or we leave. Luckily, this has rarely happened yet. There was one time where a dog was humping all the other dogs and the owner didn't seem to care, but I protected my dog by walking over, pushing the dog off, and separating her from this dog.

Big park on the bay with separate areas for small and larger dogs, including agility runs! So serene and lovely! We will be back!!!

Not long before this finds its way into your dogs ear :(

Updated review - I recently stopped by and saw that all of the grass with foxtails has thankfully been removed. What is left is a nice sized dog park. I wish they could spare a bit of resources they use to maintain the beautiful acres of grass in the park next door and bring it to this dog park, but alas, it is a dirt pit. It's nothing fancy, but your dog probably won't care! A completely serviceable dog park.

Very large dog park. It was clean and in a nice location at the Marina. Parking is a bit challenging but if you keep looking a spot can be found. The surface is some kind of dirt or sediment but it did not get all over the place as I thought it might. It would be nice to have more shady spots though. Overall does the job and the doggos had a good time

The large dog park is plenty big for my 75 lbs lab and several more his size.

The landscape used to have have that classic mariners look with rows of boat mast and hulls lined up in symmetric harmony with the backdrop of the bay. Waterfront restaurants used to thrive in this corner with views and special occasions would funnel here. Now the marina is gone, docks and boats have all been removed. The restaurants now are left with just 2 and those have not seen their glory days in decades. A much less thriving and celebrated area than it once was. But there are still nice paved trails here that are super popular amongst the locals whether families with kids/pets, seniors on their daily walk/stretch or people enjoying the massive grassy space. There are lots of picnic areas with bbq grills, lots of places to just sit and relax so on weekends this place still gets really busy, even with the waning changes that have transpired. I like to take walks here either later in the evening like sunset time if I have dined out nearby. A great way to walk off a little part of my dinner and soak in the chill views. Also love coming very early in the mornings before the masses really show up. Early enough the air is cooler, the park cleaner and just much easier to park and move around. When this place gets busy it is too urban for me, takes away from the serenity. So when I don't have time to venture into a true open space with hills and/or a forested area, a simple stroll here does me just fine. There are nice trees here and to walk right next to the bay turns an ordinary stroll into a more special one. To that I give my props and my appreciation.

After a drive behind industrial buildings, you'll eventually reach the entrance to this trail and park. This was my first time here so I mostly stuck to the paved pathway, but there are a lot of different paths and trails that you can explore. On the main paved loop, it's a mostly flat walk around the hill and along the waterfront. You'll get great views of the water along the San Leandro Marina (El Torito side) and the Oakland airport. It's just under 2.5 miles to complete that loop. There are also some trails along the hill and a disc golf course. There are some less-nice views along the trail (like I said, industrial buildings), but it's not a big deal. There's a lot of street parking along the industrial streets right by the entrance and on the new year afternoon we didn't have any issues. It looks to be a popular spot for folks to bring their dogs. I did notice that a lot of people have their dogs off leash so if your dog is not so dog-friendly, maybe skip this trail, just in case other dogs come up to them.
