So let me state I didn't have high hopes for this place. It is the 4th restaurant in 3 years at this location and the 3rd Mexican joint. I walked in around noon on a Sunday (they do brunch on the weekends) and there were only 2 other tables. Not a good sign... I was greeted promptly and sat at a lovely table. They have these cool sci-fi lamps on the table-none were on since it was daytime but I tapped it and the lamp emitted a soft yellow glow. I reviewed the brunch menu and was sorry I had eaten breakfast that morning, it all looked delicious. The busboy brought me over some chips&salsa-pro tip: if they offer you 2 dishes of salsa say YES, this stuff is delicious! I am not a tequila guy but I ordered a hibiscous margarita, it comes with a candied lime-wow what a treat. It was really good and refreshing. I was driving so I only had one but I did consider calling an Uber and having some more. I got the Isella combo, 2 enchiladas, a taco, rice & beans. The waiter brought it out really fast and warned me the plate was really hot. The plate was but the food wasn't. I was a bit disappointed because it was fresh and tasty, just on the cold side. They are having Dos Equis specials for Cinco de Mayo which falls on Taco Tuesday this year. They brought out the Most Interesting Man in the World just for the occasion (so glad they brought him back) I'm not sure if this place will be here a year from now. Only one other customer came in the whole time I was there. But the food was great, the service was wonderful, and the candied limes should be in everything. read more

What a great find! Relatively New Mexican place off 121 in Lewisville. The service was outstanding with fresh chips and salsa to start. House margaritas were excellent. The meal was fresh, hot and delicious! I had the Pollo con Hongos and it was excellent. Very nice people in a new space with an excellent patio when it's not 1000 degrees. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the service--our table needed water refills, and later the check, while several servers stood nearby chatting. I was craving ceviche and a quick yelp search led me here ! I will say this is a hidden gem! I love the ambiance inside as well as the patio. Our server was so nice and extremely attentive. I ordered the ceviche and a pineapple margarita which was phenomenal!!! My babe ordered a margarita and a cheesy fajita dish, that we cannot remember the name of but he said it was spectacular ! I want to give 5 stars, but I also wrestled with 3. Bottom line, service is inconsistent but food and vibe are excellent. Service is very friendly and I like everyone I've interacted with. But we've been forgotten twice. Once was particularly embarrassing since I vouched for this place and we were there with 2 other families. Drinks ran dry and we weren't checked in for WAY too long. This is balanced with a super cool interior, great patio and adjacent outdoor area (great for kids to run around), great food (very reliable, 5/5), great and equally reliable chips and salsa, never had a wait / always seated immediately, and cool bar area, including garage doors that open the bar to the outside patio. AND they have mole, my favorite. I usually get the mole enchiladas (chicken). YUM. So despite service letting me on 2 visits, I'm rounding up to 4 stars. But they at least need someone refilling drinks, if nothing else, even if they're not a dedicated waiter. read more

I came here to meet someone and it was a perfect spot for that. The decor and location are great. Food was awesome too, flavorful and fresh. The chips and salsa were addicting. This was my first time visiting and I literally live so close!! We went to celebrate my niece's 30th birthday! Our waitress was Jamie and she was amazing. She was very tentative checked on us made recommendations. Of the food was so tasty so fresh and just so so good. The decor the lighting just the whole ambience was just so different from any Mexican restaurant. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area or make the drive. Our waiter was excellent. He was very responsive to our requests. He was very available. All of the food entrees was very good to excellent. Their beef is very well seasoned. Their salsa has great flavor. The chili carne sauce for me was overpowering with chili powder so next time I will get a cheese sauce on my beef enchiladas. That is the only complaint for my personal taste buds. I didn't order rice but double beans so my order was not accurate. But I let it go. My taco was delicious. I met a friend for lunch here. She wanted to try this place. She saw it on Facebook. We arrived and the restaurant was really nice and the bar area was also nice. The service was good. I decided to get the beef fajita and top shelf margarita. The beef fajita came out hot and was very tasty. The beans and rice were good and it was a large portion. Overall I was very happy with the meal. The top shelf margarita was less impressive. It didn't taste top shelf and was not strong. The food and service were very good. The enchiladas de mole and Pablano with fajita beef were excellent. Chips were very crispy and fresh and the salsa is also fresh with a nice bite to it. The house margarita was not overly strong but had a nice smoky taste with a dried lime garnish. Good ambiance if a bit noisy as the bar is in the middle of the room. Prices were more reasonable than mi cocina, but they add 3.7% to your bill if you don't pay in cash. read more

We had such a great dinner at San Miguel Tex-Mex Cuisine in Lewisville! From the second we sat down, the service was super fast and friendly -- we felt really well taken care of. The chips and salsa were AMAZING -- honestly the best salsa we've had in a long time. The tortilla soup was light but full of flavor and yes, perfect even in TX summer heat (we love soup). My husband got the Luis Dinner and I had the beef enchilada dinner; both were so flavorful and came out perfectly hot and fresh. The Skinny Margaritas were also a highlight -- light, refreshing, and not overly sweet. The vibe was cozy and welcoming, and everything just felt easy and relaxed. San Miguel is a DEFINITE place to check out for Tex-Mex in Lewisville. The food, service, and ambiance were all exceptional. While tucked away at the base of a large building and a little tricky to find, it's well worth the trouble getting there. The presentation of our Grilled Poblano was gorgeous and it didn't stop with looks. Every bite was delicious and left us wanting more, with perfectly-sized proportions. Service from Norma was great. Chips were good and flaky. Salsa had an interesting flavor, but was good. A little spicy but most will find it acceptable. Shrimp quesadillas were excellent. Shrimp enchiladas with Rancho Loco sauce was also excellent. Not spicy at all and a very unique flavor. Overall it was a good first experience. Here is my only complaint. They have a double sided drink menu. Wine is not listed, but it is available. Very odd. Lastly the drink menu is black with gold print and is very small type. Trying to read it was pretty difficult. And add to that a dimly lit restaurant. Get a multiple page drink menu with bigger letters and ditch the black and gold theme. Your older crowd will much appreciate it. read more

I can't believe no one has reviewed this awesome restaurant before. We have been there 3 times and each time the food was excellent! I'm big on salsa, if I can eat it and it not that the skin off my tongue, we stay. We would go more often, but we come in from east Texas and go there if we are within 10 miles. We have waited through a few Tex-Mex spots in this location and San Miguel is by far the best. As a Native Texan, I typically judge a Tex-Mex restaurant on Chips, salsa and margs. They nail all 3 out the gate. Chips are light, crisp and perfectly salted. The salsa is addictive and the skinny margs are on point! The bartender Marco is top notch and the entire staff rally's to ensure we have world class service. I don't often leave Google reviews but when I want something to last it seems appropriate. New restaurant opened. Some of the best Tex-Mex I've had. A nice change from Mi cocina's and Gloria's. The food was better here for sure. Drinks were good as well, service was impeccable. This salsa was absolutely AMAZING! I told the waiter that and he actually packed me some chips and salsa to take home with me for free. Seriously, that is freaking amazing. This place was amazing! The bar ambiance was great, and the service was fast and friendly. The bar was very nice, and they also had an outdoor bar and patio that looked lovely I'm looking forward to coming back during nice weather to try the outdoor bar patio area. Had to try this place based on my neighbors review. It did not disappoint. The salsa was great and warm chips. I had the Camaranoes de Diablo. They were great and just the right spices. My wife had the guise and said it was good. Could have been a little more spicy for my taste but it was good. Homemade tortillas as well. House margaritas were great too. Prices were reasonable. A little on the high side but still good. Our waiter was great and we told him it was our first time there. Alex the manager stopped by and talked with us for a little bit and that was great too.
