I was in the LA area and had wanted to try this place after not only considering it after my last visit because it was so bright, but it was also one of the places I have saved of place to try out after seeing it on TikTok. Love that they are open late till 2am, the unfortunate downside is the parking. It's located on the corner of N Kingsley Dr and Hollywood Blvd. and has a very tiny lot. Street parking isn't any better the later in the evening. We were lucky as it looks like they have someone out in the parking lot blocking off spaces meant for Sanamluang Cafe and the man removed the cone for one of the spots allowing us to park in front (Thank you!!!). You can't missing this cafe with it's brightly lit neon signs at night definitely drawing in people even as late (or early in the evening) as 9pm when we arrived. There is indoor and outdoor seating, where inside has this sort of T-shaped layout. Several booth seating is available along with tables, and there are two restrooms near the left back if you're facing the restaurant. The staff is friendly, love the late night vibes of the place. We ordered the Pad See Ew with beef, and the chicken over rice (I think Hainan Chicken?). It took about 10 minutes for the food to come out. They only had white meat available for the chicken, which I was a little hesitant about but it came out nice and juicy. The real star that brought everything together was the bowl of broth and the spicy sweet sauce, I didn't ask what it was but it looked like a spicy tamarind sauce which had a great kick but went so well with the chicken and rice. We were actually not that hungry but I wanted to stop by and try this place, but ended up eating the chicken and rice all. The Pad See Ew was delicious too. It was on the sweeter side of things which I wasn't expecting, but didn't bother me. Adding some of the chili sauce helped balance out the sweetness. Chunks of beef along with the fried flat rice noodles and crunch chinese broccoli. Definitely want to try their other and will be coming back for sure.
I've been coming here since the 90's way before Yelp yelped but surprised I'm only yelping now about their amazing Pad See Ew noodles. It's the best in the city, be sure to ask for it well done, which is a traditional hard sear that gives a distinct Smokiness from the wok! Of course the duck soup is the popular one but the pad see ew is the sleeper! Staff members are so friendly!!
Yuck. I don't know what's happening with the pork here at this restaurant, but do better? maybe????? It stunk so bad and when biting into it, it didn't feel fully cooked. There was like a gamey undercooked texture to it that made me gag. I ordered the pad woon sen and the pork completely ruined the whole dish. And this was my first meal back to LA. Everything else was perfectly cooked but leave it up to someone who doesn't know how to cook meat to ruin an otherwise perfect dish. My friend's Tofu Pad Thai was amazing. Maybe you just have to skip the pork or even the meats here to feel secure that the dish is safe. I don't know...
Craving Thai food and decided to get some takeout from Sanam's. It's been years since I've last been to a Sanam's. They also have one in North Hollywood - which had a more lively atmosphere. About the food- I ordered Papaya Salad - asked for mild since I have had "thai spicy" in awhile and it was just the right amount of heat, the Pad see ew Beef had a great char to the meat , and Tom yum noodle soup was perfect - alll sooo good and great portions. I'm already craving it just writing this review. It's definitely a thai staple and worth the drive to pick up. 10 out of 10 for me. Enjoy!
It was my first time ordering Pad Ka Pao in years and I'm so happy I ordered it here. The dish was phenomenal and I was left so satisfied. The portion was massive and I had them put a fried leg over the rice which really added to the meal. The Thai chilis cut up and put in the ground meat were also a great touch and kick of spice. We usually always eat at the same Thai restaurant when we come to LA but this time we chose to try something in different and it didn't disappoint! Will definitely be back here to try something of the other dishes.
Drove lake elsinore to hollywood thai town. Been here since early 90s used to be a lot smaller with poor grade. Now its grade A bigger nicer. People are nice from 90s to now. Back then even with a poor grade midnight long lines. Great food and drinks. In Thai town soo many great restaurants. Palm, Hoyka, Sapp to name a few. Sanamluang is still my number #1 biased been going here. Duck over rice, generals noodles soup, crying tiger jasmine tea and thai ice tea. Soo yummy generals noodle soup egg noodles duck shrimp chinese pork bbq and ground pork. I dont know what authentic that ice t taste. I like sanamluangs thai ice T. Place has neon lights outside inside clean needs some upgrades dont seem to matter. Food and service is good. Have a nice day!
My favorite Thai restaurant back in the day after clubbing. I used to go here all the time when I lived in the west coast, So glad to be back. Came here for dinner on a Sunday with family after Universal Studios. Parking can be challenging, the lot is small but luckily we got parking since we got there around 6:30PM. The most authentic Thai food in town. Casual spot and quick service. The Thai iced tea is a must order, so tasty and refreshing. I always order the tom kha kai soup with chicken. This is also shareable. The fried shrimp cakes are perfect appetizers. My nephews love their beef fried rice. My family also ordered the chicken over rice, beef and fried egg with fried garlic and pepper over rice, duck over rice, crispy pork & Chinese broccoli over rice, and cha po which is a combination of bbq pork, roasted duck, and deep fried roasted pork over rice. You can never go wrong with this place. Portions are huge, the best comfort food. They are also open every day until 2AM. I always look forward to coming back.

You're there because you want a good amount of good food that's open til late. Roasted Duck Noodle Soup: It's a hearty soup that's light and full of flavor. They do a great job in making sure that the food isn't salty and the soup is something you can enjoy on its own. They used fresh flat noodles, which is a choice that I support. The roasted duck is good for a place that doesn't market themselves as a duck place. This won't be for everyone, but this will be a staple item for me. Duck over rice: They use the same roasted duck, which is pretty good. The rice is rice. You get this because you're not feeling noodle, and you can't go wrong with rice. BBQ Pork over rice: It's a stock standard BBQ pork. They don't really do much to separate themselves from any other restaurant that serves BBQ pork, but there's nothing wrong with providing food that's good, but people will describe as "fine". Chicken over rice: I don't have a photo, but I am a fan of their Hainan chicken over rice. The rice actually tasted like it was cooked in chicken fat. The chicken, similar to their BBQ pork is fine. I'm sure it's good for a lot of people, but it won't jump out, and that's okay. Service: They take your order, refill your water, and give you the bill. What else do you want? Ambiance: The place looks like it was built in the 90s and has not seen a remodel since. I don't care. I'm here to eat, not to feel like royalty.

We came in for some late night comfort Thai after a Halloween night out in Hollywood. This was the only place that was open in Thai town. The menu was huge and we decided on noodle soup, flat rice noodles and Chinese broccoli with salted fish. Food was very flavorful in large portions. The prices were so good which was surprising. I'd only had a few bites of the food cause I was too sleepy to eat. I am usually in bed by 10pm these days! ( yes old people bedtime) A solid place for comfort food after a night out in Hollywood!
This restaurant is an iconic spot in Hollywood. Located in a strip mall on Hollywood, It boasts some of Thailand food classics. Parking is a bit challenging but worth the effort!

Such a delicious, authentic Thai restaurant that's located in a small plaza. Great vibes, open until 2am, and quick service. If you're lucky, you'll be able to get a spot in the lot for $2 cash, but otherwise, there is limited street parking in the neighborhood or on the street that's metered. On a Friday night, we were able to be seated right away inside. They have lots of cozy outdoor seating as well, perfect for the warmer weather right now. To start, we ordered the fried shrimp cakes. It was perfectly crispy and savory, and the sweet and sour sauce complimented it well. We also got the spicy beef noodles (be aware that it comes with a lot of liver so if you're not a fan of that, I would pass). This was probably my least favorite. My favorite was the roasted duck curry. Generous portions and duck were nicely seasoned. We also got the pork leg over rice. The pork MELTS in your mouth. I would happily come back! read more

I came here with a friend and we had a really nice time! Parking is kind of small and shared with the other businesses in the shopping center, so I could see the lot filling up pretty quickly during busier times. There does seem to be some street parking though. When we went on a Thursday evening, there were plenty of open spots. We were seated immediately and got to choose our table, so we opted for a booth. Customer service was nice and friendly, and the staff was very attentive throughout our visit. We probably waited around 10ish minutes for our food overall. My panang curry with chicken and a side of rice came out first, and my friend's food took a little longer, but it wasn't too long of a wait. She ordered the kra pao crispy pork and let me try some, and it was SO good. This is one of her favorite spots, and I can definitely see why! Everything we tried was delicious. My panang curry was also really good and came with a generous amount of chicken. The portions are pretty big too, and I had enough leftover to take home. Food was delicious, especially since I was craving Thai food. I saw a yelp review on the soup and told the honey let's go check it out. So here we are :) The restaurant is small but very busy, and customer service was good. If you live in the area or just passing by, it's a must try. I also like that they have outdoor seating and at night they turn on their hanging lights which gives it an extra special touch. read more
I tried this spot recently and was a bit underwhelmed. The Pad Thai was bland and the noodles were overcooked. The Pad See Ew was probably worse--noodles were mushy, it was very greasy, and tasted more like plain oil than anything else, which made it difficult to eat. On the plus side, the portion sizes are generous. The takeout containers were packed full, which definitely gives you good value for the money. Also, they're open late, which makes it a convenient option if you're looking for Thai food after hours. That said, I probably wouldn't order from here again unless I had a really intense late-night Thai craving. And if I did, I'd avoid their noodle dishes and try the curry instead. read more
All things considered (price, size, service) this is THE BEST THAI FOOD I've ever had. We got Tom Yum and Tom Kha - had that homemade tasting feel to it. So nostalgic. That's all I'm gonna say. The service was also super accommodating (we came at 1:30 am in the morning after Horror Nights at Universal Studios) Tons of tables and outdoor seating outside. Very very welcoming space. Food is good and people are nice. Been going here for 30 years. Took a point off because of what they typically have on the radio/music so I take it to go. The green papaya sald is spicy no matter what level you ask since they often use the same mortar and pestal to crush everything in. It's good. The juice is really good. I got the broccoli fried rice, green papaya salad, and the Pad Thai. Worth a try if you live near the location. read more

Had a long day road trip up the coast with the family. Enjoyed good food while in Solvang & Santa Barbara, but wanted some delicious Thai late night. Found Sanamluang Cafe & it did not disappoint. Food was delicious Need to try everything else next time we come visit. read more

Used to come here a lot. Then life happened. Today we came back for lunch . Beef jerky (crispy & good) pad seew combo (tasty) & a beef tendon soup with bean sprouts was perfectly spicy & sweet. I'm glad to be back (their NoHo branch was a disappointment as they must have changed chef) but this one is really really good. Thanks for not changing anything read more

The food here is good but somehow I find myself playing tug of war with the cashier or lady in front just to get "fish sauce" or an extra "1"cause every time I offer to pay either they don't understand or ignore me and make it awkward. Today's experience was one of them, I ordered rice and curry and asked for extra sauce, young lady probably new says their is one already. I insisted for another one knowing that there isn't any in my order because of the past 3 times they have told me just realizing at home that there wasn't any. Finally, she gives me one and I decided to open my order in front of her and showed her that their isn't any like I said, she again stated it was in the rice bowl, so I opened it and showed her that their was no sauce in the bowl either. Instead of apologizing, she continues on and tells her worker something slick in Thai and laughs. I think it's called bi lingual. Anywho, it's still good and I will be coming back. read more

I remember ordering delivery from this location long ago and told myself back then never again. I went to a concert nearby and this was one of the few locations open with decent online reviews (4.3 stars on Google). I decided to give it another try and I'm glad I did! The food was quite delicious especially the pad see ew. I would come back again just for it! The fried chicken wonton appetizer was good, but nothing different from other restaurants I've tried to before. The sanamluang noodle soup was tasty - especially with the fried garlic topping. The place was almost full with people that looked like they were enjoying the food, I know I did! The restaurant was pretty quiet and had an outdoor patio as well. They have a small parking lot in the front of the business that is shared with other neighboring business. I will definitely order from here again! read more

My first visit here. Now, long story short I've ate at Sanamluang in pomona, I instantly thought this "Sanamluang Cafe" would be just as great. I left disappointed. Service was on schedule, as I phone ordered. Food temp is critical to me. Ea. Dish was fairly fresh. The pad see ew was good, not great, had some really chewy bits. Overcooked and undercooked. I'm not a pro but I know when things are just right or quality is right, you normally don't experience the super chewy rubber sensation. The fried wontons, were probably flashed cooked, the filling looked pale while the outer layer was dark. Maybe, it's just the fillings nature, unsure. The fried pork spare ribs were fattier than my previous experiences, not being use to that, my instant favorite turned into let's find the right piece to eat. All in all, being fair, I gave it a 3 star, I didn't want to attack like some spoiled child and give it a 1. I'll tell you what though, for $30 beats eating my Donald's lol. read more

Been going here since I was a kid and I've always loved their thai boat noodles. They add a lot of different types of meat. Everything is super flavorful. I love the chew of the pad thai noodles and the tamarind taste. It wasn't busy on a Monday night so we got seated right away. read more
Classic Thai Restaurant, and the food is always delicious! It was a reasonable price, with a nice portion and fresh ingredients. I asked for Mild, and they nicely accommodated my request. I can never get old with the roast duck in red curry, and we started with the duck salad, which has lots of flavorful nuts and herbs. read more

Wait list on the left side of the door! When people wait outside, they just block it! Not too busy at 11pm, but there were still people coming. All 3 dishes were amazing from beginning to end. The spicy fried rice was so delicious. Adding some like to spice up the flavor. The medium spicy wasn't too spicy. The prad ka paow with pork was definitely the best but we ordered side of white rice or it will never be the same. The scrambled egg was super delicious, it was pretty much deep fried egg but I'm not sure if i would do it again for that additional charge of $4. (The star dock off) Fried wonton was amazing with the sweet and sour sauce but I feel like the meat in the middle was too little. read more

I've enjoyed this place since my college years. No frills. Fresh ordered food, quick service and open late. Always loved this place let's say over Ruen Pair. Their plates alone make me feel like I'm at home with auntie or uncle cooking for me. One of my faves is the pad see ew with tofu. There have been a few late nights I've driven here just for this dish. read more

They have a dedicated parking area, depending on time of day, there might be limited spots, but there is also a Valet that helps fit more cars on the lot.
Are there any VEGAN DISHES?
Most dishes can be accommodated to be vegan. Just make sure to ask/specify. (No egg, so fish sauce) Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mow, the curries and many others can be made vegan!
