    Panang curry, chicken satay
    max t.

Disclaimer: I come from a very heavily Asian populated area so I am used to distinct and pungent flavors. That tastes and feels the most authentic to my palate. Came here for a quick bite before a walk around the lake with a friend I haven't seen in a couple years. I loved our server and overall experience here I appreciated. In terms of food, the panang curry was more watery than I had expected. It had a lot of nice vegetables and a big serving of rice on the side. I thought the flavors were there but it could have definitely been turned up a little more, but wasn't bad for something quick. My friend got the satay and this was more my style. I love a good char and meat on a stick and this satisfied my craving.

The wings are a must. Perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and the kind of dish you keep thinking about after you leave. The rolls are massive and fresh, paired with a peanut sauce that's clearly made with care and not just an afterthought. The Pad Thai is where they really show off. The noodles have that ideal texture, not too soft, not too firm, with a balanced flavor and just the right level of spice. The crunch from the vegetables brings everything together in a way that makes each bite better than the last. The pork belly appetizer is rich and indulgent in the best way. And the Thai tea boba? Easily one of the best I've had, smooth, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Even the space itself adds to the experience. The decor is beautiful and thoughtfully done, making it feel like more than just a quick meal. If you're looking for Thai food that's both comforting and elevated, this is the spot.

Having just moved here from LA and not even knowing the hype about this spot, I came in here just for a quick dinner and ordered their Khao Soi which was just like the ones I had in Thailand. It was soo good and savory with the perfect spice level. Service was quick and easy at the bar. Perfect spot to bring friends or a date to just hang out and chill.

I arrived from San Diego and stopped by this small restaurant on East Sunset Blvd in Echo Park with my daughter around 4:00 PM. It wasn't busy, but we stood waiting for about five minutes with no greeting or acknowledgment from anyone on staff. I finally approached a female employee (long silver earrings) to ask if someone could help us. Her response was unbelievably rude--she said she was "busy," in a tone that made it clear she didn't want us there. I even asked, frankly, "Do you want us to leave?" and she replied, "I don't care." Then she told us to leave. We were literally kicked out. I understand being understaffed. I understand stress during a shift. But disrespecting customers and telling them to leave--when the restaurant wasn't even packed--is unacceptable. I left shocked and uncomfortable, and honestly, afraid to ever return or even pass by again. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had.!!! I am a very fair and professional reviewer and today was a sad day for me and my 13 year old daughter!!!

Had a great time here! The ambiance is charming and the staff and bartenders are so nice! They recommended us to get the Thai tea gimlet which was sooo delicious. We also got the panang curry fries which hit the spot. Shout out to Erika who served us!!

Vibes? Cozy. Service? (Specifically by Erika at Spirit House) Literally felt like part of the family. Food? (Particularly served by Erika the bartender) DELICIOUS. Drinks? (By none other than the world's best mixologist Erika). I've never had anything more scrumptious! Do urself a favor and come to Sticiy Rice and make sure Erika's taking care of you for the bestest of times!

Sticky Rice for Date Night is a great spot. Good ambiance and place and overall the food portions is great for sharing. The staff is nice the Manager Eddy was very helpful with recommendations (since it was our 1st time) and just checking up on us throught the night. So service was great! Also thanks to the cooks because the food was delicious! Pad Thai with steak was so good. And their Thai Tea was a great! No to sweet but just right! The Crispy wings were definitely crispy and not dry. But the crispy shrimp rolls are such great appetizers! Totally recomendado!

Got the pork pad kra pao (medium spicy) and I didn't get any preface from our waiter that it was gonna be extremely spicy even if it was medium spice and I couldn't even enjoy it. I took off all the pepper from my plate and look at how much peppers were in my plate!!! My mouth was burning so baddd and couldn't even eat the entire plate because of it. My server offered to give me a Thai tea but it was really unpleasant to eat. BE AWARE!!

    Banana Samosas

My family and I walked to this restaurant from Echo Park when we attended The Lotus Festival. We walked around the food area at the festival and it looked disappointing and we didn't want to deal with the crowds. I went on my trusted yelp app to look for something that was walking distance so we don't have to move our car. When we walked in, it took about 10 minutes for a staff to make any eye contact with us. They were not that busy. There were about 3 tables occupied. We asked to be seated outside since it was such a small space inside. We ordered pad see ew with shrimp, a Thai Iced Tea and Banana Samosas for dessert. My husband, 7 year old and myself were not very hungry. We were so glad we didn't order more items. The shrimp pad see ew came out looking like trash. The noodles were all broken and the presentation was like they made no effort. For a $27 plate, that was disappointing. The shrimps did not taste fresh, and everything was greasy. The Thai iced tea was watered down before the ice was even melting. And the banana samosas were okay. The inside bananas were mushy and the coconut sauce was too salty. We have been to many Thai restaurants and this has to be the worst. Even the experience with the staff was bad. I think we would have been better off just eating at the festival.

Went in for a late dinner and was not disappointed! The ambiance's was giving groovy vibes. We ordered Thai chicken wings as an appetizer. They were perfectly fried and seasoned well. The chicken was juicy. We ordered steak pad siew, shrimp pad siew and chicken pad Thai. All our dishes came out sizzling hot. All the dishes were so delicious. I can't forget our server. They were so nice and attentive. Come check out this place when in Echo Park.

    Pad Thai with chicken

Our group came here as this was one of the places our friend wanted to try, but unfortunately, it wasn't what we had expected. Upon getting there, we were immediately seated, but by the time we left, there was a line of people waiting. Would highly recommend making reservations if you stop by. Each of us decided to order our own dish and then share a couple of sides. What I ordered: 1. Chicken Pad Thai - was not impressed. Noodles felt like they were drenched in sauce and it wasn't spicy at all. Also, it was kind of pricey for such a small portion. Unfortunately, I have had better pad thai elsewhere. What each of us shared: 1. Papaya Salad - Super mild and not spicy compared to other thai restaurants. If you like spicy foods, I wouldn't recommend this as it was more refreshing than spicy. We didn't realize it until the dish came, but we were surprised by the wedge of cabbage on the side. It's not something you typically see when ordering papaya salad, so we weren't sure if we were suppose to create wraps and eat it. 2. The Sticky Rice wings: Super juicy and came out piping hot! The batter on the wings were still crunchy and when paired with the sauce, fried basil and peppers, it was super good. Was the highlight of everyone's meal. Overall, we weren't impressed by the papaya salad and what we had individually ordered. If we were in the area, we'd might stop by, but definitely not worth the trip from SGV.

The bar itself has a cozy atmosphere, and the photo booths are a great touch. We first ordered drinks from a female bartender who was friendly, professional, and served us quickly. The restrooms were clean and spacious. Having only two stalls for such a busy venue isn't ideal, but it could always be worse. Later, we went back to order another round. An older white bartender wearing glasses started serving us, and while he was preparing our drinks, he was also taking another group's order at the same time. I completely understood that since the bar was very busy. We ordered two Whiskey Sours and one of the bar's signature cucumber cocktails. The Whiskey Sours were served in margarita glasses without ice instead of traditional whiskey glasses. I assumed they had simply run out of the proper glassware because the bar was packed, so we didn't complain. The real problem started when it was time to pay. The bartender placed the payment terminal in front of the other group instead of us, and they accidentally paid for our order. Instead of acknowledging that it was his mistake, he immediately acted as if it was somehow our fault. We tried to resolve the situation calmly and even offered to pay the other group's bill and buy them an extra drink to make up for the price difference (their bill was about $31, while ours was around $45). When it came time for us to pay, I chose not to leave a tip because of the multiple mistakes that had already happened. At that point, the bartender completely lost his temper. In the middle of a packed bar, he raised his voice and started yelling at us, saying it was disrespectful not to tip him. He also complained that we had ordered drinks that weren't on the regular menu and that making them had taken him "so much time." As a bartender myself, I know exactly how long it takes to make a Whiskey Sour, and it's certainly not an unusually time-consuming cocktail. If preparing it had been a problem, he could have simply told us before taking our order. He continued shouting that the bar was extremely busy, called our behavior "disrespectful" and "f***ed up," and finally told us he would never serve us again. We were honestly shocked. This was the first time we've ever experienced someone reacting this aggressively simply because we chose not to leave a tip, especially after such poor service. I've worked in customer service for years, and I always tip when I receive good service. I would have had absolutely no problem leaving a generous tip if our experience had been pleasant. After that confrontation, we no longer felt comfortable staying in the bar, so we left immediately with a very negative impression. Looking back, I wish I had read the reviews beforehand. It seems that many of the negative reviews mention the exact same bartender. A truly disappointing experience.
