I had a great taco, ordered two of the Flaco Tacos - delicious and totally filling. Probably the best tacos I've ever had. Avocados, mushrooms, salsa verde. I have GOT to try to make this at home. I don't even know what my boyfriend ordered, but he said it was great and he would definitely order it again. Some kind of huge nachos. We loved the decor, so colorful, just makes you happy to be there. Service was excellent, staff was cool. Not a bad spot but I believe it's kind of a tourist spot. The prices could be better, the service was good, the food was okay, and the prices are a little high. They have a nice little patio for people watching and enjoying the weather. The location is great because it's right on Mission Ave and about two blocks from the beach. Such a good experience here at Sanchos!!! Like other reviews have stated the staff is great, funny, friendly, helpful, on top of things as soon as you walk in. The menu has a lot to choose from so it should appeal to most, but it was little pricey for a taco place ($70 plus tip or so for 2 people to have a taco plate and a beer each) but go there knowing where you are. The overhead in that area I'm sure dictates that they need to charge a little more than a typical "taco place" so I expect this going into places like this and take that into consideration. All the tacos we had were really tasty but the fried fish and grilled fish options were our favorite by far. I wouldn't hesitate to order any one of them again (we also had the asada and pork ones) or to come back here next June when we hit this area again. I fact. Came here with my husband when visiting Oceanside. I've had a lot of tacos in my life and this place was ... ok. Not the worse but def not the best. We arrived around 11am on a Sunday and we were able to get a table outside easily although it did start to get busy after we left. We tried a bunch of tacos and shared some chips and diff salsas/dips: O.G.: the tri was weirdly sweet, prob the least favorite taco we tried Federale: decent standard carnitas taco Surf & Turf: this was fine, but wasn't memorable Pounders Carnal: probably my favorite one but the fish portion was on the smaller side compared to other similar types of fish tacos I've had in the past. Salsas/dips: actually they're pretty strong here, most of their salsas are pretty good. Our favorite was the verde but our least favorite was the 5150, it was weirdly overly sweet. I've never had a salsa that sweet before. Also we found a rubber band in one of our salsas which def brought our experience down, luckily it was a whole rubber band. We prefer/are used to more simple but well flavored tacos (meat + onions and cilantro + salsa bar), and this place is not that. Overall I think there are better options close by. Would rate closer to 2.5 stars. Pros: food came out quickly Minus 1 star for the tri tip being weirdly sweet, must have been what they marinated the steak in, but def not the flavor we were looking for Minus another star that we found a small rubber band in one of our salsas. It looked like a rubber band that usually holds a bundle of cilantro. We told one of the servers and she was like, omg Minus half a star for the price/value. I did not think my fish taco was worth almost $7, also wish there was a better way to try all their salsas before committing to a being charged for a large side of it that we might not like, especially for first timers. read more

Flounder tacos were much better than the Pounder. We also got the Surf and Turf and that was pretty good. The Pounder was almost double the price of the others and not worth it. I know this is a controversial debate but THIS is the best Sancho's! We have been to most of the SoCal ones and the food just tastes better here! The line does usually seem longer and slower than other locations, but it's worth the wait. I love getting basically any of the tacos! This is a hidden gem next to the beach! The fries are really good and the surf and turf burrito is really delicious and is packing with flavor! It was so big, I was unable to finish half of it! They have so many drinks to offer too and the girls working at the register were so helpful with recommendations! I got a margarita and they made made sure to inform me it was made with tequila wine and to add an extra shot of tequila! The chicken is very flavorful, as is the rice, and the eggs. Everything was delicious! The salsa is too spicy for me but I didn't even need it. If you are in Oceanside try them out! So we've been coming back a few times during this trip and have absolutely loved Sancho's!! The Flounder Pounder tacos are the best fish tacos I've ever had and I'm not necessarily a big fish taco guy (normally more of an al pastor or carnitas, carne asada kinda guy), but these are just amazing! Fresh, warm, perfect tortilla and toppings/sauce; it's really fish taco perfection!! Also really love the atmosphere and location. Service was friendly and prompt. Came here for a last minute dinner date at sunset! I ordered Skrimps and Carnitas tacos while my boyfriend ordered the Surf and Turf burrito with the 5150 salsa (sweet & spicy). The restaurant has a clown x surfer dude x graffiti theme going on. It definitely fit the beachside vibe, but I wish it were a bit cleaner. The bathroom had a weird smell, and I avoided sitting at the grimy clown-themed booths inside. However, the outside patio was very nice especially with the sunset and nice weather! There's also free two hour parking right outside the restaurant, and we were lucky enough to snag a spot right after turning in! Another huge plus is the restaurant's proximity to the beach! Sancho's in Oceanside is your typical beach restaurant with open air seating and outside seating. This is a bar atmosphere and you have to order food and drinks before finding a table to sit. The hostess/waitress was very friendly and happy to help us navigate the menu. Our table ordered Caliguey burrito, steak nachos, Not Cho Fries and Pounders Carnal tacos. The food came out fast and was delicious. It is a loud atmosphere and even though you can take children in, I wouldn't call it family friendly. There is a kids menu with a few items. We had Sancho's to go over the weekend. My brother and sister in law rave about it so it was the perfect time to test it out. FOOD Queso - This was creamy and not too salty. Perfect with every chip. Tri-Tip Burrito - We got this with rice and beans on the side as we do not like it inside our burritos. The meat was slightly chewy but overall, it was a solid burrito. Great flavor. Tri-Tip Nachos - Was sad to see there was no sour cream on it but since we were at home, we were able to add our own. No beans in this for us. Chips stayed crunchy, meat had a lot of flavor, the chubbies sauce on top pushed it to the next level. Sauce - This is what makes the place unique. It's not hot at all and it's actually on the really sweet side. It pairs well with the savory foods. I might prefer regular hot sauce though. Overall, we were pretty happy with the food. Long overdue for this location's review- this location is just as delicious and just as friendly of staff! Their dining room is definitely one of the more roomy and larger of their restaurants, very spacious inside and if I recall correctly, views towards the beach. A short walk to the beach as well. No matter the location, their staff are friendly and welcoming, and so efficient ans prompt! As for their menu, you can't go wrong with their fried shrimp tacos or the fried fish tacos. I'll keep this one short and sweet, because I don't know how many other ways to say how much I love Sancho's Tacos, no matter which of their So Cal locations. I gave this rating the restaurant was not listening attentively. I have sensitive food allergies, meaning I am very allergic! Just the slightest cross contamination can be lethal. My meal had to be remade, and the person still put bean in my meal ruining it. I am not allergic to beans but guac. I asked for the beans on the side, not inside. It made my nachos very bitter and soaked and floppy. A lot of money for my order made wrong the first time, and the first time they were not careful. I have been wanting to check this place out for a while. I am so glad I got to try it last night! It is quite a unique place and the set up is ingesting. It is was a little dark in there so we had to figure out where to go. It was pretty packed and the patio was closed-too cold out there anyways. Luckily, we snagged a table. I was glad to see they have some Taco Tuesday deals. The tacos were a good size and the tortillas seem fresh. My favorite one was the fish one! I was so shocked to see that the salsa is $1 extra it looked like. I really wish I would've bought some salsa! Limes were provided but not many. I think salsa was on them, but not that much. Came here today on a Tuesday to meet up with one of my favorite SD Yelpers : Karen N. Since it was Tuesday , I asked "are there any Taco Tuesday deals?" Lo and behold : They do!!! Score!!! I took the opportunity to order 2 Carne Asada Tacos, 1 Chicken Taco, and 1 Fish Taco! They were sooo good!! I have been to other locations: San Clemente, Laguna Niguel. Each one has their own vibe. What I like about Oceanside's location is that the ambiance is very cute. I love the over sized booths, the Moroccan lighting, the colors and the art! They have an indoor /outdoor vibe and it's perfect for chit chatting , getting some vitamin D and people watching. Service is great and employees are very friendly. We sat on a bar table and while waiting for our food and People watching , we ended up witnessing an accident with a pedestrian on a ebike/scooter type thing and a large truck. It was crazy. The pedestrian didn't stop at the red light and ended up side swiping into the tire of the poor driver of the truck. Within minutes: Police and an Ambulance and Fire department and EMS all came to help the fallen victim. They were amazing to watch and after all was completed and witness statements were taken, not two minutes later we see another person on a bike and then on a skate board going through red lights and almost having the same fate as the previous person. Moral of the story : when people watching im this busy area : you may witness some crazy people doing dangerous risks. This is a PSA: please follow safety rules and don't run red lights. All in all, we wrapped up our dinner. Service was great and people were awesome at running over to help the person hit by the car . Way to Go Sanchos Tacos Employees! Will come back for the food.
