I have been wanting to check this place out for a while. I am so glad I got to try it last night! It is quite a unique place and the set up is ingesting. It is was a little dark in there so we had to figure out where to go. It was pretty packed and the patio was closed-too cold out there anyways. Luckily, we snagged a table. I was glad to see they have some Taco Tuesday deals. The tacos were a good size and the tortillas seem fresh. My favorite one was the fish one! I was so shocked to see that the salsa is $1 extra it looked like. I really wish I would've bought some salsa! Limes were provided but not many. I think salsa was on them, but not that much. I am not sure how much you get for $1, but it seems like a lot to pay. Most places have a free salsa bar or a couple of free salsas. I would like to try this place out again! read more

I gave this rating the restaurant was not listening attentively. I have sensitive food allergies, meaning I am very allergic! Just the slightest cross contamination can be lethal. My meal had to be remade, and the person still put bean in my meal ruining it. I am not allergic to beans but guac. I asked for the beans on the side, not inside. It made my nachos very bitter and soaked and floppy. A lot of money for my order made wrong the first time, and the first time they were not careful. Came here today on a Tuesday to meet up with one of my favorite SD Yelpers : Karen N. Since it was Tuesday , I asked "are there any Taco Tuesday deals?" Lo and behold : They do!!! Score!!! I took the opportunity to order 2 Carne Asada Tacos, 1 Chicken Taco, and 1 Fish Taco! They were sooo good!! I have been to other locations: San Clemente, Laguna Niguel. Each one has their own vibe. What I like about Oceanside's location is that the ambiance is very cute. I love the over sized booths, the Moroccan lighting, the colors and the art! They have an indoor /outdoor vibe and it's perfect for chit chatting , getting some vitamin D and people watching. Service is great and employees are very friendly. We sat on a bar table and while waiting for our food and People watching , we ended up witnessing an accident with a pedestrian on a ebike/scooter type thing and a large truck. It was crazy. The pedestrian didn't stop at the red light and ended up side swiping into the tire of the poor driver of the truck. Within minutes: Police and an Ambulance and Fire department and EMS all came to help the fallen victim. They were amazing to watch and after all was completed and witness statements were taken, not two minutes later we see another person on a bike and then on a skate board going through red lights and almost having the same fate as the previous person. Moral of the story : when people watching im this busy area : you may witness some crazy people doing dangerous risks. This is a PSA: please follow safety rules and don't run red lights. All in all, we wrapped up our dinner. Service was great and people were awesome at running over to help the person hit by the car . Way to Go Sanchos Tacos Employees! Will come back for the food. I loved the decor in the place, very 90s SoCal. The menu is extensive- I highly recommend the surf and turf taco! The salsa/guacamole sizes look either too big or too small for 2 people but with the size of the tacos, the small size is perfect. The chips need more salt, IMO. I knocked this place 1 star because while the food was awesome, the bar service was not. We ordered drinks with our food, but the never came. I finally got up to ask the bartender, who was very busy flirting with a guest. It took forever to make our drinks, and she had to use a recipe! After spending a little time at a brewery down the street, I was starving and decided to walk around and find a spot to grab some grub. I've walked by Sanchos Tacos before but never went in. The spot has changed a few times in the recent past, so I figured it was just another touristy kind of spot. I was wrong! Glad I decided to walk in! When I walked in and started talking to the girl behind the counter, she gave me some history of the place and was chatting it up. The vibe was really good inside and fun. I ordered tacos and my husband ordered a burrito. The tacos were really good! I absolutely loved the taste and they were great sized and a great price! I could have eaten more! Initially it was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon but that's what made it even better. Overall the service was great by the cashier. I ordered the tri-tip Sancho's nachos and let me tell you heaven on earth!! The meat was tender and the mix of cheese,beans, sour cream and more was so good! I got a side of chili verde and chipotle. This added so much more flavor that I devoured the whole thing! The tri-tip nachos is big and is the BEST nachos I have ever had! The atmosphere was great. Came here for the first time the other day and got two burritos and felt kind of shocked about the price came up to just about $30. I understand inflation and prices are high on everything but come on now $30 for two burritos and one of them was just a bean and cheese and no add-ons to either. We ordered the California burrito which was almost $19 and was on the small side. For that amount of money I expected a decent sized burrito. The burrito itself was mediocre. We also ordered the bean and cheese burrito and my partner didn't even want to finish it because they said it was gross. They said they did not like the fact that they used pinto beans which were a little bit watery instead of refried beans. And they're red hot sauce was bland! Sorry Sancho's but you will not be seeing me through your doors again. Also, upon looking at my receipt the California burrito was charged at 18.45 when their menu says 15.45 so I'm not sure what gives. read more

We did the half orders of each sauce and it was more than enough for two people. The cheese and guacamole were my favorites. Back to the burritos...you cannot beat their homemade tortillas, as they are soft and taste delicious. The shrimp in my burrito were plentiful and you get to select a salsa on the side. Get the verde! The best I've had and I actually needed a second to finish my burrito, because it was so good. Long tine resident of Oceanside, Ca and first time visiting Sancho's Tacos. Was a Sunday evening and the area which is downtown was decently packed. We found parking in the lot around back. Had a good amount of seating . We tried two Cali Guey burritos, one wet with red sauce. Both were delicious and had good size to them. We're not big on fillers ( rice / beans )in burritos so we opted to the cali guey as it had less fillers and was more of a traditional So cal burrito. Good amount of Carne Asada and Guacamole. You get one salsa per burrito but they're decent size. We got extras red,green and chipotle and they were all great but extras are around $.70 cents each. Will definitely be back. They close at 8pm on Sunday's. read more

Then I always order the chicken burrito which is usually really fresh tasting, but today the burrito was mostly beans, and the little chicken inside was kind of rubbery. Chips were extra greasy and kind of broken up like they were the bottom of the bag. Not the usual warm, fresh chips we usually get. I hope this was an isolated incident. WOW! This restaurant embodies Chicano culture. The music, the art, the food, and the vibe is something that you won't get anywhere else in North County. I love that this restaurant is spreading the culture for not only North County, but also all of those who visit to enjoy. There's so much attention to detail in the art in this restaurant. The seats, the tables, the walls, the ceilings, etc. are covered in artwork and cars. As for the service, all of the employees on all of our visits have been nothing but spectacular. They're super friendly, helpful with the menu, and actually very appreciative of the patrons that visit. They also stay on top of taking your empty trays and beer glasses. The restaurant was super busy the last time we went, and they hadn't gotten to a couple tables outside, yet, but if you ask, they'll gladly clean it up for you to sit! It's VERY hard for me to describe to food, because I really just don't have the words. We've had everything but the Flaco Tacos, and I think I'd go as far as to say that these are some of the best tacos I've had. DEFINITELY try the chubbie and 5150 salsas. The chubbie is my jam!!
