The locals are super sweet and lots of tourists come out just for the views. The servers were excellent and extremely attentive. The nachos are massive and great for sharing. The food in general is going to be just your typical bar food. I was hoping for some fresh peel and eat shrimp (something I am always in search of when I am by an ocean) and unfortunately they weren't serving my craving at the time but that was okay. Came on Saturday and had fabulous, friendly service with Emily. Very attentive and sweet. Overall, the service was quick and the location and view were fabulous. I love the concept and the view! Excellent choice for sunset dinner because of the perfect view of the water! I had the Cuban Punch as my drink which was pretty good, well mixed. I had the pulled pork and substituted the chip for fries. Pulled pork had nice flavor to the sauce, the fries were seasoned and crispy. Great service! The food and views were amazing, but the service was subpar. It took over 15 minutes to get water and it was difficult to get ahold of our waiter. We ordered an ahi tuna salad, a bowl, and chips and guac and they were all extremely delicious. The bowl was pretty large though so it was perfect for sharing. read more

Very pricey, but that's what you get for the convenience of a resort based restaurant right on the water. There were some very persistent and talkative birds hoping to score some fries. Decided to try out this cool little spot while visiting Opal Sands. The weather was nice, and although the sun had already set, we were kept warm with their heaters. I ordered the jerk chicken meal and the "killer colada" which was essentially a pina colada. The server, Andrew, was friendly and helpful with a great energy about him. There was a talented young lady playing the guitar and singing soothing tunes. My jerk chicken was more on the sweet side, and it came with plantains and fingerling potatoes. My drink was small and weak (or dare I say non-alcoholic), but otherwise fine. My order was relatively inexpensive - $25 for the meal and drink. This was my first time in Clearwater and my two must for a restaurant that day was good food and views because of the rainy weather. Food, they had a good selection of American style food. My main entree was the seared tuna salad which I would go back here just to order it again. The tuna was not fishy and seared on the outside but raw in the inside leaving a soft texture to the pieces. I loved the French fries! They had local breweries on tap which is what I usually look for since I want to try the local beer. View, it's right by the water. This restaurant is part of a larger hotel chain so the hotel has pretty sweet views. Again it was raining that day but I was able to sit outside and enjoy the cloudy weather without getting wet. Overall, our waiter was friendly and patient as we ordered food waiting for the rain to slow down. I enjoyed this restaurant and would recommend to first time visitors. Cheers read more

If you want a quick Oceanside bite to eat, popping by the Sandbar at the Opal Sands resort is a go to. Everything on the menu is delightful. Having poolside service is a huge plus!! And you literally cannot beat an ocean view while you enjoy your meal. read more

You can't beat the view but the dining area is packed. The staff took our order quickly, but forgot to submit our drink order so we sat for 20 minutes with no food or drink. Strolled by the Sandbar for a quick bite to eat. The scenery is all you could ever ask for - out on an elevated platform overlooking the beautiful Clearwater Beach. Live music playing in the background while soft chattering takes place at the outdoor bar, they have the ambience nailed down for a beach spot. I started off with a pina colada from the bar + shrimp tempura which came highly recommended. I was disappointed with the drink, but fascinated by the tempura - it's a showstopper here! I also enjoyed some blackened grouper fish tacos which were also tasty. Overall, I would say I wasn't highly impressed with the food/drinks but mixed with the ambience + that SHRIMP TEMPURA, I'd make a pit stop here again! read more

Sandbar restaurant was the perfect place to see the sunset from our table and have a great meal. Tuna Tower was more like a fresh ceviche with guacamole, but was delicious. Best restaurant to watch the sunset on the water! I suggest sitting at one of the high top tables because the sun is out of your eyes while eating but you can still enjoy the sunset. I normally don't write reviews about restaurants in general but wanted to make sure other families with kids are aware that this is not a family-friendly restaurant. This place is a bar/restaurant built on sand. We know kids will naturally want to touch and play with sand. This restaurant does NOT allow kids to touch the sand. I'm not talking about throwing/playing obnoxiously with sand. I mean, do not touch. At all. The food was not great. The sun was in your face with no umbrellas (unless seated in the back). The drinks were pretty good. But we spent $220 on our bill and had management come over and tell our kids not to touch the sand. Just FYI for all the Mama's out there. Please don't take your kids to this restaurant. There are so many other wonderful places you can take your family to in Clearwater :-) read more

First time in Clearwater beach! Found this little gem right on the water. Beautiful little bar behind the beautiful Opal Sands resort. It's a chill place to go for food and drinks. They create a tropical, chill, and lowkey luxury vibe at their outdoor bar. Our server was great, very fast drink service. Piña coladas were absolutely delicious, they came garnished with a pineapple and toasted coconut around the edge... UHHMMM YUMMMMM!! My friend loved the mango drink she ordered. If you like fish tacos the blackened fish tacos were pretty good, according to my friend that ordered it. It come with 3 ok size tacos and a side of fries for about $13. A little pricey but the view at this establishment makes it worth it. I tried the fries and they were good but definitely not great. Watching the sunset here was majestic. We sat down and the hostess, Alexis was extremely rude. We were wanting a shaded table, so one of the waitstaff moved a table slightly in the shade. She came over and told us we couldn't move the table and that it had to stay in the exact same spot. We didn't move the table....their staff did. We then asked if we could sit at another bigger table that was in the shade. Alexis said she couldn't seat us there because it was reserved for a large party. There is no question this is a gorgeous property with picturesque views. However, after being a frequent customer and referring all my guests to this location for the view, ambiance, and food, the service has unfortunately changed, filling the seats, and then the clock starts to move people in and out with new bodies. Three seats were not filled at our table, so we were escorted with drinks and appetizers in hand to a small table. Other elevated bars are now open and provide quality food and drink steps away. Hopefully, the Sandbar can maintain a personal atmosphere rather than a manager/ host incentivized to move people in and out ASAP. read more

Service is forgetful at best, the tables are not cleared in a reasonable time period so people are allowed to seat themselves at tables with leftovers and checks. Many gluten free options but the menu does not describe how they've edited the dish to make it GF and it Ben drastically change the outcome. read more
