Green chili cheeseburger with kale & Brussels sprout salad (green chili on the side)
    Melissa M.

The patio has a cool vibe to it and is a great spot to watch the Sandias turn pink during sunset, however, good luck finding a place to sit. It was packed when we got there around 6:30 on a Wednesday, and while there was a table available inside, sitting inside Whole Foods didn't give me the happy hour feels I was hoping for. They've got a large selection of beers, including a lot of local stuff, they also have wine, and a couple cocktails. I thought the food was over priced for what it was. I ordered the green chili cheese burger with the kale and Brussel sprout salad. Loved the salad, was disappointed by the burger. The burger was just patty, cheese and green chili, and although I ordered it medium it was a little dry. Ordering can be a bit of an ordeal, they had two people working the bar, only one was taking orders. Between the line being long and that same person taking orders also getting everyone's drinks it took a good deal of time to order drinks and food. I'd recommend going back for drinks, but honestly I could do without the food.

Small but good! This is two orders FYI

Northeast heights needs more bar/patio/alcohol serving establishments. So I was excited to see how neat and different the Sandia saloon looked while shopping. We finally had a chance to try and it is a little different. You have to order at the bar/counter.they bring the food out once it's ready. Ordering took long as they only had one person behind the counter. Then only one serving so everything took a little longer. Oysters: Small but good! Very fresh. It's 4 oysters for $5 Street tacos: Off the charts. Not in picture because we got too hungry. Burger: Also very good. The truffle fries were however the main attraction. Taps: So much to choose from, bosque, boxing bear, la cumbre, fat tire, marble, to name a few! They have a good happy hour menu however it's a rather small area so I imagine it gets very busy.

Fish and chips and oysters on Friday night, can't beat the price! $1 an oyster fresh and delicious.

I absolutely love Sandia Saloon! Best happy hour wine choices and value ever. I love the bar tenders, they are so patient with me and always advise the best wine choices for me. I think the menu is very limited and I would appreciate a little more variety on the menu but the happy hour specials are phenomenal. When you have a choice, always choose the carnitas over calavacita and even barbacoa. The burgers, fish and chips, and oysters on the half shell are very good and excellent values!

Great place to visit. Not a lot of people but enjoyed the atmosphere. Someone stated the wings were dry, not! The wings were great and the bartenders were talkative. We had the hot wings with buffalo sauce, not on he hot side but very tasty. Can't beat the happy hour price, it is like Getting a drink free. We will be back really like how everything is set up. Bonus is you can get groceries and have a beer. Everybody stop by there are so many local breweries on tap here it is worth the stop.

I come to this spot for the ambiance, craft beer selection and a great snack to accompany that brewsky! Let's talk ambiance.... indoor/outdoor seating. Comfy bar with 4 flatscreens playing sports! Great spot to spectate the seasonal sport on the ESPN. Let's move to the food...awesome happy hour 1$ off pints and small bar menu ( nachos, wings etc.). But this is the local secret.......are you ready!?? This is this spot to come and get fresh oysters on the halfshell for 1.50 a pop!!!!! I know for a fact that they come in fresh daily!! Should I also remind you that this saloon is directly attached to Whole Foods?! Sooooo if you are not in the mood for bar food. You have the choice to walk into Whole Foods for whatever you fancy! I recommend a salmon and avocado sushi roll accompanied with a Bosque IPA! Anywho.... I love this spot!!

    Artisan Cheese Plate

Came to shop and stopped to drink and nosh! Ordered the Artisan Cheese Plate, Tempranillo glass of wine and Red Door Cider. Sat on the patio and enjoyed the afternoon. Cheese plate was delicious as were the drinks.

We're kind of snobby about our beer and every. single. beer is solid. I might not like reds that much but this is one that I'd actually drink. The Hefe is solid and delicious without the weird aftertaste and off flavors that 95% of them have. Just a clean, refreshing hefe. The DIPA is delicious and one of my faves. I still stand by that the IPAs here will stand up to any others we have around town and we have some good oens. We stopped in to watch football for a bit and the screens were plentiful, there was lots to do including darts, shuffleboard, and nearly every single game on at once. They've done a lot to the place and I really hope it sticks around - we need a place like this! Beers are super reasonably priced and they have a daily happy hour (including an all day happy hour on Monday!). This is a chill, cool place with lots of seating, lots of parking and ample food options around.

My son and I ordered the Atomic Turkey Panini and were both very pleased with our decision; it was delicious. The beer was tasty too!! Poor communication spoiled our visit…read more My fiancé and I stopped by for a drink and he ordered a 32oz can of apple beer. The staff handed it over the bar to him without mentioning that it was strictly for off-premise consumption. Honestly, I suspected something might be off when I saw the large, unopened can, but because the bartender handed it directly to him without a word of warning, we assumed it was fine. We ended up opening it and drinking it for a while before the staff finally noticed. When they did realize what happened, they completely panicked, told us it was a "felony," and confiscated the can. We completely understand that New Mexico has strict liquor laws and that the brewery has to protect its license. Now that we know the rule, we definitely won't make this mistake again. However, the situation could have been entirely avoided if the staff simply communicated better at the point of sale. If you hand a customer a large package container over the bar that cannot legally be opened on-site, it is your responsibility as the server to state that clearly. The staff should have caught this when serving us, or at least handled the mistake with better customer service instead of escalating the situation. It was an honest mistake caused by a lack of clear guidance from the bartender. As two professionals that work on base nearby, this is a letdown, especially as we have frequented this brewery in the past.

The place was packed thanks to the live music, but we still managed to find a spot to sit and enjoy the scene--which was honestly impressive. Solid selection of local brews with something for every taste--whether you're into hoppy IPAs or something more mellow. Everyone was friendly, and the staff kept things moving even with a full house. Street parking was available nearby (big win in Albuquerque on a busy night), so getting in and out was easy. Nothing has changed really inside it's pretty much the same. That's a good thing in my view. So for ambience I give four stars. The inside is attractive with a lot of windows. Outside there's a nice patio which would be great to sit at if the wind is not too bad. For service, I give four stars. Service is on pretentious and just down to earth. I think some of the people that used to be there at boxing baee are still there. If you are a younger soul who likes to play arcade games there are several there. Again, they were there when boxing bear was there. So for me the reason I give four stars is because this is a wonderful place to just come and be with friends. There is no high pressure to purchase expensive entrees or drink excessively. That is what I love about this place. As far as the kitchen and food goes, it's pretty humble. I would call this authentic lowdown tacos and burritos and nachos which is equivalent to pub food. My disappointment with the menu is that there are no really interesting options such as enchiladas. I'm an enchilada girl I admit it.. so I did not actually get any food although all of my friends did. I also don't drink alcohol any longer so my favorite beverage which is an athletic IPA was available in a can and I was very happy for that. All in all, if you like humble easy inexpensive tacos burritos nachos pub food go for that. If you're looking for a place to hang out with some friends and have an easy conversation without too much overhead noise from music or TVs do that. This location is really good for groups who want to hang out. I would suggest to management that they consider putting some music meaning live bands on the schedule here and there. This location is also appropriate for music bingo, karaoke, and trivia along with live band performances. Or even just have solo guitar players come in. I love this place before I still love it. I'll be back.
