Sandpiper Seafood Combo, delicious and fresh!
    Kim H.

The weekend we spent in Kilmarnock, VA, it was recommended that we eat here for dinner. I started off with a salad and chose the Sandpiper Seafood Combo, and the meal was really good. The shrimp was good and the crab cake was yummy and my fries were just the way I like them. The staff were very friendly and outgoing and good vibes. I definitely would go back!

Filipino breakfast is AMAZING! The Filipino sausage, pork strips, garlic rice, rice noodles......everything flavored and cooked to perfection! Please don't go here, because I want to keep this gem all to myself!!! Seriously delicious, and there are other delicious choices, too, if you want something more traditional or even something more lunchy.

Long story short: I loved everything about this place!!! Detailed version: We visited this restaurant for the first time Wednesday night for my birthday dinner. The place was pretty busy but we were still able to be seated right away! The tables were a little tight together but the place gave off such an "old time home" feel that I was ok with that. We ordered some drinks, and a bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer. The drinks were good and they brought out the most amazing complementary bread! It was soft and sweet and just melted in your mouth....so of course we finished that and asked for a second! The bacon wrapped shrimp was really good, five good sized shrimp with crispy bacon and a sweet dipping sauce. For my meal I ordered the shrimp scampi. By that time I was close to filled up on bread and the appetizer that I had to get a box to go, but the bites that I did take there were really good. The shrimp was the same decent sized ones that came with the appetizer and had a garlic cheese over top. I could have gone with a little more butter sauce (just because I LOVE butter) but it with still pretty great as is. The waitress found out it was my birthday over the course of the night and multiple times wished me happy birthday. On the way out she did it again and other guests in the restaurant started to sing. You can tell this is a really great little town, filled with kind hearted people, because we felt at home and left with a huge smile on our faces! We will definitely return when we're in the area again!

As a business traveler, I sometimes come to some very small towns, often with limited and disappointing restaurant choices. This was an absolute gem. Cozy atmosphere, and very good food. Definitely an upscale locals hang out, however, not pretentious.

Had the crabcake and shrimp with a twice cooked potato.

Delicious locally sourced meal. Gina, the owner, drove us back to The Tides Inn after dinner!

Fantastic! A "must try" and one we'll visit often…read more We're in the process of moving to Fburg and decided to have a nice dinner. I looked through Yelp and picked F132 as our first meal in the new town. Great choice! We didn't have a reservation, and it was Friday at 6pm, so we were placed on the bar seating wait list. We were seated in 20-25 minutes, which was super fast and great with us. Lesson learned for next time, make a reservation. But, if you choose or wind up at the bar, the service is great and seating is comfortable. The bartender was with us quickly and walked us through the Happy Hour specials. Drinks, apps, etc. they had a good variety of things in HH and many seemed interesting. But we were there for steak, so we let him know and he took our orders. In the meantime, he got us waters and bread service. While we waited, we watched the bar staff make some amazing concoctions including smoked old fashioneds, and all manner of flavors, textures, and mixtures. I don't really do cocktails but there were egg whites, chocolate sauce, fruits, mints and great presentations. They also were serving HH food and the Happy Dog looked filling: the truffle fries were served in what looked like multi-pound platters. I had the filet with French onion soup and corn salad. My wife had filet with mashed potatoes and black eyed peas. The bartender explained sides change frequently and are selected by what is available farm fresh. The corn salad was a sort of chilled street corn with some peppers and stuff. Very good and the corn was so fresh. French onion soup was delish! Absolutely perfect. Black eyed peas were great. I didn't try the mashed potatoes. The steak was the star. I don't know what's in their house rub, but it's perfect. And the steaks are cooked under an 1800 degree broiler so they get that perfect sear. Both were cooked at the perfect temperature. And the meat was trimmed so there was nothing but butter-tender beef. Let me be clear-THIS IS THE BEST STEAK I'VE EVER HAD! The service was perfect. My glass never fell below 2/3 full, and we never were waiting on service, but it was non intrusive and really made the experience so much better. A++! Wherever you are reading this, stop what you are doing, and RUN, don't walk to Fahrenheit 132. You'll thank me later.
