Inconspicuous little seafood dive with great service and a laid-back atmosphere. Our waitress was attentive and super sweet with the kids, keeping drinks full and bringing plenty of sauces. The fried shrimp was perfectly crisp and tender, and the kids loved their meals too. The Low Country Boil to-go wasn't exactly traditional but still tasty. This little, local restaurant is about 35 miles west of Savannah and not far from Pooler area. A person I'd met at a seafood market recommended it, as good food and pleasant employees. She was correct. My oyster stew was 'like Mom used to make and had a generous portion of oysters. The shrimp was perfectly prepared, for those preferring fried. It was in a very small 'mall' of just a couple businesses and was difficult to see. It is located near Parker's, which helped. I enjoyed the local ambiance with obviously frequent customers. There was no wait, since I prefer eating about 1-3, the food was fresh and hot, and the waitress was pleasant. Good 'old fashioned cooking. However, perhaps not the place for you if you have COVID mask concerns. We've had both vaccinations, so we felt fairly comfortable with the lack of masks.... Both the food & service are good! Sandra's is certainly not fancy, but the portions are huge & the food is tasty. The "small" grilled scallop dinner had 12 scallops that were nicely seasoned & came with two sides & delicious hush puppies. My husbands large fried flounder dinner was huge! Ordered the light fried shrimp platter and it did not disappoint! Went with the potato salad and coleslaw for my sides since it came with 2 hush puppies already. The coleslaw was heavy on the Mayo, but still really good and the potato salad was tasty. The tarter sauce was delish! The patrons were locals and all knew each other, which was awesome. Kind of smelled like a German cockroach infestation. We ordered drinks but I kept smelling that very distinct smell and told my husband we had to leave. We paid for our drinks and then went to the Parker's gas station down the street and ate delicious Mac n cheese and other stuff. The staff at Sandra's were really really nice. Idk but I have a super keen sense of smell and they definitely have or had roach infestation. Went here for lunch today because it was right off the highway. The restaurant was very busy for the size of it, and there was only one waitress on duty. Our waitress was nice and she did everything she could to give us good service. For my meal I got the large combo of fried oysters and grilled scallops. For my sides I got hush puppies, green beans, and a baked potato. The oysters were delicious but the scallops were a bit chewy and dry. The hush puppies were moist and crispy, but the other sides were very average. My dad got deviled crab and shrimp, and he gave me some of each. The deviled crab was excellent, and I would definitely get it again. I enjoyed everything I ate but the portions were very small, especially to be called the large size. Overall, it was a good meal, but not exactly worth 49$ for two people. read more

Stopped by for the first time yesterday. Having lived in the coastal area all my life I feel that I'm a good judge of seafood. Most reviewers say it's the best, however I don't think so. The batter fell off of my fried shrimp so I had a pile of greasy batter. The fried flounder was about the same, swimming in grease. We are fairly new to the area. We have eaten there several times and liked it. The last time was totally unacceptable. The shrimp were not deveined and the flounder was muschy! Seafood is not cheap so when you spend your money for a nice meal you expect it to be clean. I've never complained or asked for a refund . I will check the food next time before leaving with it. Great service and staff at this diner. The service was fast too. The food was ok. My fries were cold, charged extra for cheese on a fish sandwich and it wasn't "melted", just slapped on the bun. Last time we were there the waitress went to the back and got him some big ones, they were awesome, however this time they were tiny and not so good! We will not be back. First time eating at Sandra's Seafood which is only two minutes off of i-16. Someone recommended this place and they let me know that the cheeseburgers are out of this world!! I got the fried shrimp dinner with FF and they were great. I tried the double cheeseburger and it was very good as well. The staff was very friendly. If you are traveling on i-16 and you need gas there is a gas station that semi trucks can stop and fuel up and it is walking distance from the gas station. If you are looking for great food and great service stop by and give this place a try. read more

This may be a long post, but it's well deserved. I will also be posting this review on every social media platform this company is apart of. Not only is the host AND owner rude, they completely lack the necessary social skills to successfully run a business. We arrived at 11 and ordered a simple frog leg meal and steak sandwich meal...45 MINUTES later (and after multiple coworkers of ours had gotten their orders before us) we finally got barely done frog legs and the most pitiful shaved steak sandwich we have ever tried to eat. Yes, at this point we are pissed because at least 5 groups of families had come in AFTER us and had gotten all of their food. We then called and talked to the host whom then caught an attitude AFTER trying to cover her ass by making excuses for the kitchen. She then handed the phone to the owner who was equally as rude with just as many excuses. Even with my frog legs being frozen (which they shouldn't be because well...it's on the menu to be cooked) they don't take 45 minutes to defrost and fry ( I'd know because it's my favorite and I literally cook them all the time, frozen and defrosted). We got back to work only for the food to just be BARELY done and unseasoned to trash perfection. We will NEVER and I mean EVER go back here and we will be taking all the menu's posted at our job site and throwing them away so no one else has to deal with this unprofessional excuse for a restaurant. read more

The seafood is fresh and hand breaded or grilled or sauteed and is excellent. It looks popular enough, full at 12:45. A great alternative to Interstate fare. Not fancy but very good.
