Great spot for a quick bite! Great seafood and casual food options. Don't sleep on the fried okra! Kind staff and fun restaurant.

I had the spicy shrimp wrap with EVERYTHING and it was oh so delicious! Served w one side, I chose fries. Fiancé had a white fish sandwich he could barely hold together to eat. He said the fish was mediocre! Overall just ok. I guess his fish sandwich would have been much better on a different type of bread instead of a piece of fish slapped between 2 slices of white bread and nothing else! My shrimp wrap was very nice so for the reason of his sandwich I'm giving the lesser rating. You CANT go wrong w the spicy shrimp wrap! We enjoyed your little town. Thanks

Tucked away in a small South Carolina town, there's a seafood joint that changed my life--not because of the fried shrimp or the crispy fish, but because of the ranch dressing. Served in a well-worn giant squirt bottle, this wasn't just ranch. The bottle was massive, towering over the table like a monument to flavor, ensuring that no plate would ever go without its rich, velvety embrace. It was a masterpiece. Cool, creamy, perfectly tangy, with just the right touch of garlic and herbs. It draped over crispy fries like silk, turned hush puppies into something divine, and made every bite of golden fish feel like a revelation. I squeezed the bottle again, watching the ranch flow like liquid gold. With every bite, I felt something deep inside me shift. This was more than a condiment--it was a blessing. And as I sat there, utterly overwhelmed by its perfection, I wiped away a single tear.

The restaurant lively with great energy. Large parties were present. There was a bit of a wait. The customer service was great. Additionally, the prices, food portions, taste and timely service were as great!

We were driving through the state and found this place online. What a great find! It is located on Main Street and seemed to be very popular for lunch. Cute sea decorations, as well as 11 indoor tables and 4 outdoor tables. Large menu with appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches and wraps, seafood baskets and entrees. I had the Buffalo chicken salad, and my husband had the chicken club wrap. Both were plentiful and tasted great.

Absolutely incredible burger. Couldn't even finish it, not usually a problem. Pimento cheese and fried green tomatoes on it. You already know

Wow! Such a great meal. We got the grilled scallop basket and the grilled shrimp basket. A great value for the money with a huge portion of both. If I lived closer, I'd be here every night.

Driving back to SC from Savannah. This is a great find! Come one. Come all. Lots of seafood options. Good home cooked southern styled food. Hamburger options as well. So many choices. I don't think you could go wrong. Order at the counter. Take a seat. They give you a number for your table and will bring it to you. Everything was even better than it looks.

Next, the staff. They were exceptionally nice. Friendly, polite, courteous and helpful. Absolutely 5 stars. The food. We ordered the fried pickle appetizer, a shrimp dinner and the special, a 5oz fried grouper sandwich. The pickles came out fresh, hot, nicely cooked in a perfect coating. Came with ranch dressing. Would totally order them again. 5 stars as they were perfect. The shrimp dinner was also very good. Nice portion of again... perfectly coated, perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The side of coleslaw was fine. No rating as it was neutral. The fries, the side we chose, were ok. The usual frozen crinkle cut fries. They were hot and cooked well. But frozen makes them a 3 star. I personally was not a fan of the hush puppies as I'm typically not anyway. My partner said they were delicious. Going by her enjoyment, 3.5 stars. The grouper sandwich special. Presentation was good. Good bun, fresh leaf lettuce and fresh cut tomato. The fish was again, nicely coated. Unfortunately, it came out dry. A little tough to chew. My partner tried it and said the same thing. Fortunately, the great server offered to have a new one made for me. I really didn't want it so she replaced it with their fried shrimp! No headache. No nasty looks or comments. Just a server that wanted to make sure we had a good dining experience. She did. The bill arrived and the food prices were good. Taxes are a bit high but no fault of the place. We were disappointed to see a service charge of 3% for CC fee. Typical nowadays but still never happy to see it. Overall this is a place that I would absolutely recommend and if ever passing through here again, we will stop and eat here. 4.75 stars.

It doesn't feel corporate or manufactured at all. More like you've stumbled into somebody's lovingly chaotic backyard dinner party where the food just happens to be genuinely top-tier. The mismatched charm, handwritten feel, and warm atmosphere are part of what makes it so special. There's this brilliant contrast between the laid-back hole-in-the-wall vibe and the seriously refined cooking coming out of the kitchen. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were incredibly tender, fried perfectly, and drizzled with a lovely house-made ranch. The sweet house pickles alongside were such a good touch. We also each had a cup of she crab soup which was beautifully seasoned and packed with tonnes of crab morsels. For mains, we shared the shrimp and grits and completely understood why the recipe has won awards, including being recognised as the 3rd best in the world. The recipe is rooted in traditional Lowcountry cooking but elevated with layers of flavour that somehow still feel comforting and homemade. The grits were unbelievably creamy, and the shrimp and sausage were perfectly cooked with fantastic flavour throughout. We also split the seafood purloo with blackened grouper, and it was equally impressive. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh without trying too hard to be fancy. What really made the experience though was the staff. Everyone went above and beyond. They took time to chat with us about the area, paced the courses perfectly so nothing felt rushed, and by the end we were leaving with handshakes feeling more like guests than customers. Places like this are getting harder to find. We'll absolutely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Lowcountry food served by genuinely wonderful people.

But being from New Orleans, I also know a lot about restaurants and flash fryers used in kitchens, to quickly prepare fried seafood dishes to chicken , throughout the country. So let me begin my review of Hudson seafood house on the dock. My first impression is that this is a local place that has been around a long time and you can actually see and somewhat feel the age of this establishment. It is very popular and Hilton head a great deal of tourist come through their golfers, etc.. The staff is very young teenagers working a summer job who hasn't done that to their 20s and 30s. Shout out to the bartender and to the blind headed waitress who recommended my drink and food choices. You guys are Primo in my book. If you're planning on eating there outside is gorgeous view of the water but it's also very crowded around certain times. Call ahead to reserve tables, especially if you're coming with a large group. This place is great for kids, young kids and adults and if you're an old head like myself, the bar is a place to be. Enjoy a good draft or something on tap.
